Kaytel's body lies on the ground near a treasure chest that had been in the room when you entered, and a large staircase rises up to a gigantic set of double doors leading to the final floor of the tower. Kadan kneels down to inspect the chest. "I wonder how long this has been here..." Kadan tries to open and examine the contents of the chest. Valina: Probably a long time. Valina decides to put on her wind gown... finally. ^_^ Rein looks around at his companions. "Is anyone still hurt?" Valina looks at herself in the wind gown... Valina: Do I look cute? Earendil 's jaw hangs low when he sees Val in the wind gown. GMRune: The chest opens to reveal an intricate cane of some sort. GMRune: Valina equips the Wind Gown. Valina: ^_^ Earendil continues to stare at Valina. Valina looks in the chest. Valina: Hey, Rein? Valina: Do you want a new cane? Rein: Hmmm... Rein: I'm more of a staff person, myself. Valina: Oh okay. ^_^ Geint thinks. Valina points to Tarrant.. Valina: Oh, Tarrant. ^_^ This cane looks really powerful. ^_^ Perhaps you should take it. Rein casts Recovery Litany on Ayeye. GMRune: Ayeye recovers full hp. Kadan scratches his head. "So what's above this level...?" Valina gaves the cane to the unattentive Tarrant! Valina: Take it anyways. ^_^ GMRune: Tarrant receives Wisdom Cane! Geint smiles at Valina and waves to her. Valina: Oh hi Geint. Valina walks on over to Geint. Geint: I have to talk to you sometime. ^^; Valina: Yea? Earendil: I belive the next floor is the top, shall we proceed? Geint nods to Earendil. Earendil walks up the stairs. Geint whispers to Valina. Geint nods. Valina walks next to Geint. Kadan walks towards the upper staircase. Geint walks up the stairs a bit lagging. GMRune: The two double doors at the top of the stairs are shut and appear to be quite massive. Geint stops jabbering for a quick second and looks at the doors. Earendil pushes on the doors. Geint, her cheeks a bit rosey, watches to see if her help is needed. GMRune: The doors swing open. GMRune: A horrific sight greets your eyes in the final chamber atop the Goddess Tower. The eerie glow that surrounds the outside of the tower is strongest here, pulsing greatly with an unholy strength of its own. There are only two souls in the room besides yourselves. GMRune: Your eyes are first drawn to the pale complexion of a beautiful woman at the far end of the small chamber. Her wrists do not appear to be bound, but she is held fast to the wall more surely than any physical bond could do. Though her body sags and her smooth face is fraught with exhaustion and worry, she is still tall and beautiful, and radiates the unending love and hope that brought life to the world of Lunar. Valina: ... Valina: She is beautiful... Geint looks over.... she pales a bit... GMRune: Before her closed eyes is a circle of sorcery, but the glyphs are unlike anything you have ever seen. Gausuton sits cross-legged in full armor in the center of this circle. He is facing the goddess and does not appear to have noticed your entrance. Peeking out from around his cloak and laying across his lap is an ornate staff of silver and gold with a snake entwined around it. The snake's head at the top of the staff if made of gold, and its black eyes are bright with a life of its own. Geint narrows her eyes and frowns... "I knew I felt something...." Valina: Bastard.. Earendil: Gausuton! GMRune: The warlock is still. He does not appear to have heard you. Valina: He couldn't have me... so now he is after the goddess. :P Valina sings a song to try and break whatever bond he has created with the goddess. :P Valina: He isn't going to hurt her... I won't allow it. Valina continues singing. ^_^ Earendil: Neither shall I. GMRune: Nothing happens. Gausuton does not move and the goddess does not appear to wake. Rein's look wavers between horror and rage as he looks from the goddess to Gausuton. Earendil unsheaths his sword. Earendil proceeds toward Gausuton. Valina takes her sword out too and follows Earendil. Valina: This is for mom and dad... and my brother... Kadan: ... Valina: And Lord McDocmar.. Valina: And everyone Gausuton killed to bring him to his downfalling today. Kadan: ... Warlock... GMRune: Earendil attempts to step over the circle of magic. The staff's eyes flash and the entwined serpent hisses. Earendil is flung back away from the circle and suffers 50 damage. Earendil gets up and shakes his head. "He's raised a barrier." Valina: And we need to break it. GMRune: Gausuton is still facing away from the party, quite unmoving. Rein continues to looks at the goddess, a bit panicked. Kadan moves his hand to his weapon, not liking how little he understands the scene before him. Earendil: Valina, try Dispel. Valina: Yea... ^_^ Valina grasps her pendant and uses it's power to dispel Gausuton's magic Valina: You owe me a starlight if this doesn't work! GMRune: The pendant flares with lavender light. The eyes of the serpent-headed staff glow with the same color and intensity. The circle vanishes. GMRune: Gausuton does not move. Valina: Let's go after him! Earendil: Be careful, he is not as vulnerable as he seems. Valina: True. :P Kadan squints. Earendil: Gausuton? Valina: Hi! It's me! You kidnapped me a wile back ago? Earendil proceeds up to Gausuton. Rein tries to skirt the area Gausuton is in, making for the goddess on the far wall. GMRune: The eyes of the staff glow menacingly and Gausuton groans painfully, leaning forward over the staff as he does so. Kadan lurches down a bit, gripping his weapon firmly and not letting the warlock escape his gaze. Geint hmms. Valina follows Kadan! Kadan: Warlock! Gausuton coughs, retching, and when his eyes open their pupils are constricted to the point of being mere dots. <>
