Kadan stretches his arms. GMRune: The party recovers all HP/MP. Kadan scratches the back of his head. "Something tells me it may be a while before we can afford rest again." Earendil: Indeed. Arzel sits at his desk and studies. Rein stares blankly as he eats, lost in thought over the task ahead. Tarrant is glad to be home and decides to sleep in. Kadan eagerly seeks out anything hot and edible. Kadan looks serious for a moment. "Well, I suppose we should get started. What will we need for the trip?" Ayeye yawns and pets the bush. "Do we have to go already, it is so early..." Geint sleeps. Earendil: Some of us went shopping already. Tarrant stretches out his arms and his back cracks. Tarrant walks over to the others. Rein chews The bush pants and slurps Ayeye's arm. Kadan: The sooner we go, the sooner we can accomplish our mission. Geint finally opens her eyes. Earendil: I'm ready, I'm just waiting for some of us to get up. Geint hefts herself up and looks around. "*Groggily* Go..? We're going to go already? Why didn't anyone wake me up...?" Ayeye: Okay, okay... Kadan folds his arms. "I think it would be good to form a solid plan before we use our time and resources. What precisely is our target?" Earendil: We're going to the Goddess Tower. Geint looks down and thinks. Ayeye: Right, the Goddess Tower, and when we get there, we are going to... err... I forgot... Earendil: Hopefully, I will become the Dragonmaster. Kadan: What happens if others enter the tower? How much do you know about this ... ancient place? Ayeye: Oh, right, that was it. Earendil: Me? Nothing. Rein has stopped eating and listens, focused. Geint huffs at her frayed looking ponytails. Arzel continues studing his book, seemingly ignoring everyone else Earendil: Rein or Geint might know more. Kadan fidgets with his equipment. "I don't know if I trust that place, but if we must go, then we go." Geint looks at Ear groggliy as she hears her name. Tarrant whips up some wheatcakes and eats them hot off the griddle. Geint smells food. =b Earendil: Geint, what do you know of the Goddess Tower? Rein shakes his head slowly. Geint thinks. Geint: Well... Geint frowns a bit as she thinks of the tower. Geint: Well... Rein watches Geint. Geint: I'm thinking about it and I have an... *Thinks about how to describe it after just waking up* icky feeling...... Kadan: Rein, how long do you think your power can sustain us if it gets too rough in there? Kadan: Perhaps we should carry a stock of medicines with us. Geint: But I know dragons and chosen people can go in. Rein: My power can last quite a while, perhaps longer than usual so near to the Goddess' power. Rein: As long as we last through the fights. During battle, I never know whether I'll be able to keep up. Rein: As for the tower itself... Earendil: Kadan, if the battles get bad, I can get rid of the enemies with the Black Dragon spell. Rein: Apprentice priests don't generally hear much about it. Valina: I hope I can survie.. Rein: What I know is this--It's the dwelling place of the Goddess herself, and only those chosen can enter. Tarrant: Don't kid yourself. How many times do you think you can cast that spell till you run out of MP? Rein: As for the glow... Rein looks down and shakes his head. Geint blinks. Earendil puts his hands on Val's shoulders. "Don't worry." Geint: My icky feeling is about the goddess! I feel like something's up! Kadan nods. "I'm starting to think this squad looks stronger than ever. I'm confident we can face any challenge the tower has for us in one way or another. But, it would be unwise not to prepare. Earendil: This is my quest more than any of yours, I should be the one who is worrying. Geint wakes up some more. Kadan: So all we need to do is see you safely to the top... I think that can be done. Valina: ... Valina: Easier said than done most likely. Geint frowns a bit deeper. Kadan leaves the house to look for any shops open yet. Tarrant decide to go to the item shop. Geint looks around. Earendil follows Kadan. Valina thinks she needs new armor. GMRune: The item shop is open. The weapons and armor shops are present as well, but you've already been to them, no matter how long ago it was. Ayeye wanders after them. Arzel puts his book away, and goes after everyone else. Kadan investigates the item shop. Geint sighs. Geint follows. -_-; GMRune: The party enters the item shop and are greeted by a clerk. Clerk: Hello! You were the party in here just yesterday, right? Come back for more? Ayeye: Well, not everyone felt like shopping last night... Geint hmms. Arzel browses. GMRune: The shop has the following for sale: Calm Herb Heal 250 HP 200 S Herb of Althena Heal All HP, All Party 400 S Laurel Leaf Heal 120 HP 90 S Seed of Vigor Heal All MP 500 S Silverlight Heal 80 MP 100 S Valina: I think some herbs of althena would be nice. ^_^ Kadan looks at the exotic herbs and ingredients, wondering where they come from. Tarrant: Hey buddy, we're about to save the world... Think you could give us some discounts... aka Ramus. The clerk looks at you incredulously. "Just because all these rare herbs are actually in bloom now doesn't mean I'm going to hand you mass discounts!" Arzel buys one Seed of Vigor and puts it in his pouch with his starlights. Tarrant: But it is me, little Tarrant. Remember when I took your daughter to the festival when no one else would. Kadan picks up two Calm Herbs and one Silverlight to the counter. "I think I'd like these for my pack. What's the total?" GMRune: Arzel gets a Seed of Vigor. Valina: I'll take a calm herb, and 4 starlights please ^_^ Geint: Uhh... I guess i'll just get a laurel leaf. Geint is looking at the floor. Clerk: That will be 500 S, sir. Kadan: Good. Here you are. Kadan counts out 500 silver for the merchant. Tarrant: Sir I would like to buy 5 silverlights. Tarrant: eh.. I changed my mind. The clerk turns to Valina. "Sorry, I don't have starlights for sale right now." Clerk: (to Geint) That will be 90 S. GMRune: Geint acquires a Laurel Leaf. Valina: Ahhh shoot. :( Geint hands him the money. Tarrant does the math... "I want 1 Seed of Vigor." Valina: Well... Valina: Then.. Valina: Gee, I don't know. Valina: How about 2 calm herbs, and a laural leaf then. :P Clerk: (to Tarrant) 500 S please. GMRune: Tarrant acquires a Seed of Vigor. Clerk: (to Valina) That is 490 S for two Calm Herbs and a Laurel Leaf. Valina hands over the money. Valina really wishes Earendil would be nice to her... hint hint... GMRune: Valina acquires two Calm Herbs and a Laurel Leaf. Clerk: Anything else you would like? Valina: A good luck token? Arzel would like to buy a silver light or two if no one protests. Rein steps to the counter. "Just an Herb of Althena, please." Clerk: Okay, that's 400 S! GMRune: Rein acquires an Herb of Althena. The clerk looks expectantly at the characters to see if they plan on leaving or buying some more. Geint stands there. Arzel: I'd like a few silverlights... if no one protests. Valina puts her green ribbon in her hair. Valina: Go ahead. Earendil: I need a couple hundred silver, if nobody minds. Arzel buys two silverlights. GMRune: Arzel gets two Silverlights and pays 200 S. Kadan leaves the shop. Tarrant follows Kadan out of the shop. Arzel: I don't need anymore, Ear, go ahead. Earendil: Thanks. Earendil goes out of the shop and looks around at other buildings. Valina goes out of the shop and sits on a nearby bench. Geint looks at Arzel. Thinks. GMRune: Earendil spies a quaint little giftshop ringed with lilies and lace nearby. Geint looks at the party. Thinks. Rein picks up a silverlight with his extra 100. GMRune: Rein gets a Silverlight. Valina sits on her bench thinking about nothing, and looks at some flowers... and some children playing in the distance. Kadan stands by himself, looking up at the sky while awaiting the others. Valina: ~sigh~ Rein secures his new items in his pack and looks ready to go. Ayeye continues petting the bush, "Anywhere else we needed to go?" Geint thinks about stuff deeply. Geint seems oblivious to everyone else momentarilly. ^^; Geint hmms. (Earendil walks into a gift shop.) GMRune: You enter the small shop and see a young pink- haired woman standing behind the counter, which is loaded with cards, sweets, and long-stemmed roses. Shopkeeper: Hello. What might you be looking for? :) Earendil: I'd like to get one of those beautiful roses over there and um . . . Earendil looks around, "Do you have any . . . rings?" The shopkeeper smiles and nods. "Yes. What sort are you looking for?" Earendil thinks for a moment. "Diamond." Shopkeeper: Gold? Silver? How many carats? Oh, and this is for a lady friend of yours, right? Earendil: Um, yes. I'm sorry, but I've never bought one before, can you recommend something? Shopkeeper: Well, we have a very nice double-banded diamond ring that you may like. It's inlaid with one central diamond and a dozen smaller ones ringed around it. It's set in 16 carat gold, which is very good because it's not too heavy and its not too soft, but you'll know it's gold! Earendil: It sounds nice. How much is it? Shopkeeper: That'll be... 205 S altogether. :) Earendil hands the shopkeeper the money. The shopkeeper accepts the silver and hands Earendil his ring and one of the best of the long-stemmed roses. Shopkeeper: Thank you and come again! :) Earendil: Thank you. Earendil heads out of the shop. (back outside) Arzel leans against a close building and waits for something to happen. Kadan sheathes his wicked sword and takes out his large axe to practice a few maneuvers by himself. Earendil appears at the door of the shop and starts walking toward Valina. Valina is facing the other way. Geint thinks of something, then decides against it. Geint: I uhmm... need something back at the house... okay? Earendil walks up to Valina looking just a little sheepish. "Um, Valina?" Arzel: I locked the door... I'll have to let you in. Valina turns her head... Geint nods. "C'mon." Valina: Oh Earendil... ^_^ Arzel walks off towards his house. Geint goes off. Earendil looks down. "First of all I want to say I'm sorry." Valina: ... Sorry for what? Earendil: Well, I haven't paying much attention to you, even with the feeling I have for you . . . Earendil: I guess I was just scared. Valina: ... Earendil: But Shea knocked some sense into me. Valina: I don't like falling in every battle... :( Earendil starts feeling guilty. "I know, and I want to make up for it." Earendil hands Valina a single red rose. Valina: Ahhhh... Valina: Thank you. *^_^* Valina takes the rose. Earendil: Um, that's not all I have to say. Valina hugs Earendil. Earendil's face starts growing red. Earendil: Val, when this is all over, I want to spend some time with you . . . Earendil: In fact, I want to spend the rest of my life with you . . . Valina: Really? Valina starts to cry. Valina: Nobody has ever said that to me ^_^ Earendil gets down on one knee and brings out a ring almost dropping it. "Valina, will you marry me?" Valina cries happy tears... Valina: Once we are though with this... and have no worries... Earendil smiles. "May I take that as a yes?" Valina: Yes... ^_^ Earendil slips the ring onto Valina's finger. Valina: We can live in peace away from the worries of the world. ^_^ Valina hugs Earendil tightly and cryingly. Valina: I love you Earendil! Valina: Please protect me. Earendil picks up Valina and gives her a kiss that sets off fireworks. Rein, standing a bit away, looks up from his preparations and is surprised to see the triumphant moment. Valina: And Earendil! Once we are living happily together, I will cook you the greatest yummy roots you have ever had. ^_^ Earendil gets a sweat drop. "Oh really . . . um, that would be really nice." . o O(Althena, what I have gotten myself into.) Valina: ^_^ Valina remains pretty speechless. Rein looks around at the others, puzzled. Earendil looks up. "Hey guys, where are Arzel and Geint?" Rein shrugs. Earendil: Let's head back to Arzel's house and see if they are there. Ayeye: I think they went to the Goddess Tower. Ayeye: Where's the fun in that... Earendil: No, I'm pretty sure I heard them say something about his house. Ayeye: Fine, I guess... Tarrant: Let's find them and get to the tower. Ayeye starts walking in a direction she hopes is toward Arzel's house. "Are you coming?" Geint walks/runs/skips over to the group with Arzel. Earendil starts heading for Arzel's house. Arzel wanders back, following Geint. Geint blinks. "Oh dear. ^^; Did I keep everyone waiting? I wasn't that long was I?" Earendil: Oh, there you are. Ayeye stops. "Oh, heh, wrong way... Err...are you ready to go now?" Earendil: What were you doing? Ayeye taps her foot impatiently. Geint: Looking for something! And we talked a bit! Geint: But I'm back now! ^_^ Earendil: Okay then, I guess we should be going. Rein nods. Ayeye: Finally! Earendil starts heading out of town toward the airship. Arzel follows. GMRune: The party heads out of town. The airship is parked right where you left it, just as you left it, save that there is a small herd of ambushs inspecting it. Ayeye smiles and bounces around. "Cute!" Earendil shouts at the ambushes. "Ah, salads for all of us." GMRune: The ambushes rustle and ignore the party. One of the them proceeds to try taking a bite out of the airship and fails miserably. Ayeye pokes Earendil. "Don't say things like that! Can we keep them?" Earendil: No. Ayeye frowns in a cute, pleading sort of way. "Why not?" Earendil: Because I said "no", that's why. Earendil boards the airship. GMRune: These ambushes are a lot bigger than Ayeye's and look much fiercer (for being what they are). GMRune: The ambushes ignore Earendil as he boards. Ayeye: That isn't a very good reason... Geint looks at the bushes. Ayeye walks up to the ambushes at starts petting one. Rein finds a spot on the deck and looks out intently. Geint watches, hopping the bush doesn't attempt to eat Ayeye. Tarrant strides pass the bushes, trying not to step on there shoots. GMRune: The ambush snaps at Ayeye and tries to bite her hand off! Geint: O_o; Arzel teleports onto the ship to avoid the bushes. Ayeye pulls her hand back quickly, "Ah! That wasn't very cute!" Earendil looks out from the airship. "See!" Geint: C'mon, Ayeye. I'm sure we'll see more, later! Geint hops over the bushes to her best ability. "Sorry! S'cuse me!" Ayeye gives the bush a stern look. "That was not very nice, you should not attempt to eat people." Geint: C'mon! GMRune: The ambush ignores Ayeye and goes back to trying to eat the ship. Ayeye tries petting a different bush. Geint: Ayeye!! *Considers carrying her* Ayeye doesn't even look at Geint. "But they're cute! In an evil plantlife sort of way..." GMRune: The second ambush doesn't react any friendlier than the first one. If anything, it's even meaner. Ayeye: Ah! Bad ambush! The bush rustles uneasily in Ayeye's backpack. Geint: Ayeye! C'mon! Ayeye: You are not going to make any friends that way... Geint: You still have your bush! These bushes don't wanna listen! Geint: -_-; Geint: My friends generally don't try to bite my hands! Ayeye looks through her backpack for something to feed the ambushes. Geint: Ayeye! If I have to I'll take you on there, and then we'll try and befriend bushes afterwards! Earendil brings out the White Dragon Wings and wills Ayeye onto the ship. Ayeye sighs and pets her ambush when she realizes that it already ate anything edible... GMRune: Ayeye is surrounded by a swirl of white light and teleports in the ship! Geint nods, enters. Geint feels glad she didn't have to carry Ayeye. ^^; GMRune: The party now on board, Valina happily plops herself down at the controls and takes off. Ayeye jumps. "Ack! How did I get here?" Earendil puts the wings back. "Who knows?" ~Valina steers straight for the Goddess Tower unless someone has objections. Ayeye looks out of the airship at the ambushes. "Bye bye bushes!" GMRune: The ambushs tumble away from the airship upon takeoff. Rein peers ahead anxiously. GMRune: Not long after you are out of Vane, the Goddess Tower appears on the peak of the lone gargantuan mountain to the west. Tarrant tries to settle his stomach. GMRune: It is a huge structure and a bright beckoning light of hope. Though its color appears tainted and uneasy, the mere proximity of the tower to yourselves conjures up a feeling of love and felicity. GMRune: The airship drifts closer, seemingly invited, for the winds are calm, but encouraging you ever closer. Geint doesn't. She thinks about her icky feeling. Rein bows his head. Arzel sits in his corner and studies some more. GMRune: Valina brings the airship down for a landing on a small plateau just outside the white marble structure of the Goddess Tower. The air is crisp and chill at this high alititude, and the wind stirs strongly through your hair. Ayeye stares out the window. "It's pretty..." Geint nods. Rein taps his staff on the deck twice and looks up, looking determined. Tarrant throws open the door with a slight shove. Earendil impatiently waits for Tarrant to go. Geint looks around a bit... thinking.. Ayeye pushes her way in front of Tarrant and rushes out. GMRune: Outside of the airship you can witness the full majesty of the Goddess Tower. It surely is the most beautiful building you have ever seen, and it is easy to believe that the goddess of love and music resides within. Arzel follows Ayeye out. GMRune: The main entrance to the tower is a pair of gigantic double doors, tall enough to accomodate the greatest of dragons. For now they are closed, and a purple glow is laced around them. Earendil: Tarrant, go or I shall push you out. Ayeye approaches the doors curiously. Earendil: Feh. Geint picks Tarrant up and moves him. ^_^ Geint places him aside. Geint walks out. Earendil: Thank you Geint. Geint nods to Earendil. Ayeye catiously reaches out and touches the door. Earendil follows Geint out. GMRune: When you approach the doors, a black cloaked figure shimmers into view before you. Valina walks quietly beside Earendil. Damon: Welcome to the Goddess Tower... Ayeye jumps backward. "Ah, stop that!" Damon: I'm afraid Lord Gausuton is quite busy within, and so I must prevent you from disturbing him. His death... must not be on your hands. Hm hm hm. Ayeye waves meeky. "Err...hi..." Valina: -_- Geint: .... Ayeye: Oh... why not? Rein glares darkly at Damon. Valina: I hope everyone he killed helps destroy him! Tarrant: We have come all this way, we are not going to be stoped by a little servant. Earendil: Indeed. Ayeye: See, it might as well be us, we would add that little personal touch to the whole thing. Earendil: I have my own business in the Tower, and I won't let you stop me. Damon: I must admit I am surprised you have lived this long, but I'm afraid your journey ends here. I am no ordinary servant. The Urdian blood flows thick within me, and my power is more than a match of all of yours. Geint begins to wish Quark were here... Damon: Gausuton will die, you have no need to worry about that, but it must be by the hand of Nissa and not by mortals such as yourselves! Valina: Sorry... but I must go on... I am going to get married! Ayeye: Oh... Valina: I am going to live a normal life after this is over... and you are not going to stop me... my hell stops here Damon draws back his hood, revealing for the first time a pale face with bloodless lips with eyes the color of spit and dark slitted pupils. Damon: You are right. The hell ends here. And those who look upon the face of Damon of House Nissa do not survive to tell about it. GMRune: -------round 1------- Ayeye: You do not look very healthy... Valina stands beside Earendil! GMRune: target: Damon Geint takes a stance. Rein: Your presence defiles the Goddess Tower! Geint readies a spell for once. =b GMRune: Ayeye rushes forward to attack Damon with Zara's Spear! Valina glares at Damon. Earendil: Valina, you should stay in the back row, you'll be safer there, trust me. GMRune: The spear glows and lets out a stunning ring! Ayeye is flung away and on to the ground! Damon: Fool! Zara's Spear will not harm one of her own blood! Valina: I die when I am away from you! GMRune: Kadan attacks Damon! Ayeye shakes her head. "Ouch... That's not fair!" GMRune: attack 1: miss GMRune: attack 2: miss GMRune: Damon gestures and casts Shadowgate! Waves of darkness roll over the party! Geint braces herself. Valina is not worried about this. ^_^ Rein throws an arm over his face. GMRune: Ayeye takes 156 damage! Kadan is aligned with darkness and takes 48 damage! Geint takes 372 damage! Rein is strong against darkness and takes 1 damage! Earendil takes 341 damage! Valina is strong against darkness and takes 1 damage! Arzel takes 119 damage! Tarrant takes 1 damage! Geint gags. Ayeye is knocked down just as she was standing back up. "Argh, cut that out!" GMRune: Damon's face remains impassive and gestures once again. Damon casts Reflection! A transparent barrier blinks into being in front of him. GMRune: Damon attacks Earendil! GMRune: 1 damage! Earendil tries his hardest to restrain a laugh. GMRune: Geint casts Weak Litany on Damon! Geint hopes it works at least a little. GMRune: Weak Litany is bounced off of Reflection and strikes Geint! The shield disappears. Geint's stats all go down by 23. Geint winces. Valina: Geint! Valina: Are you OK? Geint: ... Uhhmm... I guess. -_-; GMRune: Earendil casts Heavenly Armor on the front row! Ayeye, Kadan, Geint, Earendil, and Valina are protected from magical attacks! GMRune: Valina casts Sonic Shield on Damon! GMRune: A barrier of music surrounds him to punsih any agressive action he takes! Valina: ^_^ GMRune: Rein casts Calm Litany! Everyone gains 252 hp or goes to max! Rein: Hang in there, everyone... Valina feels aggressive. GMRune: Arzel sucks in a lungful of air and casts Flame Breath! He burns Damon for 225 damage! GMRune: Tarrant casts Star Shield on himself! He is protected from magical attack! GMRune: -----round 2------ Ayeye clutches her pendent. "Maybe I cannot hurt you directly..." GMRune: Ayeye's pendant glows as she summons the power to cast Shining Light! All party member's stats are up by 50! GMRune: Kadan attacks Damon! GMRune: attack 1: miss GMRune: attack 2: 415 damage GMRune: Geint uses Strong Grip! Her AP increases by 88! GMRune: Earendil uses Power Strike! He leaps into the air and brings his sword smashing down on Damon! GMRune: 534 damage! GMRune: Valina sings Valina's Song at Damon! The melody whips into a thrilling frenzy and assaults him with song! Valina: La la la GMRune: Damon takes 1 damage and resists the daze effect. Valina: Argh! Valina: Baka! GMRune: Rein casts Calm Litany! Everyone in the party gains 237 hp or goes to max! GMRune: Damon lifts his hand and a shining sword appears in it. He lashes out at Geint! GMRune: 252 damage! Geint winces again. GMRune: Damon casts Cancellation! All status effects (shields, stat boosters, etc.) appear from around the party! GMRune: Damon casts Acid Blade! A greenish splotch of corrosive liquid strikes Tarrant! GMRune: 144 damage! Geint: O_o Tarrant is pissed. GMRune: Damon takes 1 damage from Sonic Shield. GMRune: Arzel casts Phoenix Fire! An avian cry flares around him, taking shape as a body of flame. The plumage falres out from Arzel's robe, engulging him until the new Phoenix, Arzel, rises from the flames in his new form! GMRune: Arzel's Wisdom is boosted by 224 and his Magic Endurance by 115. Other benefits include instant alignment with fire, the ability to attack regardless of rows. Geint blinks. o O (That's a cool looking spell.) GMRune: Tarrant casts Pegasus Wind! The scent of the forest at dawn erupts around the Goddess Tower, carrying with it the bouyant ethereal shapes of pegasi sailing through the unreal forest of Tarrant's creation. They fly through Damon's being! GMRune: Damon suffers 1080 damage! Geint blinks again. GMRune: -----round 3----- GMRune: Ayeye defends. GMRune: Kadan attacks Damon! She swipes her rapier and sends a swift vacuum of air streaking towards Damon! GMRune: 363 damage! GMRune: Rein casts Calm Litany! Everyone in the party gains 226 hp or goes to max!
