You can only see sky through these circular portals, and from the strength of the wind you know that you are unspeakably high. GMRune: There is a stairway to one side of the room, leading towards the roof, and small cage in the center of the chamber. Two familiar figures are huddled inside of it. Ayeye runs toward the small cage. Earendil gratefully takes a silverlight from Rein. GMRune: Inside the cage at Lira and Seera, the two dryads you have encountered on your journeys. Both of them look tired, and unnaturally old for one of their kind. Ayeye tries to open the cage. GMRune: The cage does not appear to have a door, or any way to open. Lira looks to Ayeye, recognizing her. "You've returned to fight Yegaar?" Ayeye walks around the cage, looking for a door, "Neat trick... Err... yeah!" Tarrant tries to find a magic seal on the cage. Ayeye: So... how did you get in there? GMRune: There is indeed a powerful magical aura around the cage, but the power supporting it does not appear to be emanating from the cage itself. It seems to be coming from something else. Lira shakes her head. "After Yegaar killed you he captured me. He transported me into this cage with Seera and I don't know how to get out!" Seera remains quiet throughout the exchange, remaining as far away from the party as possible. Ayeye pokes the cage bars with Zara's Spear. "He should have at least had the decency to leave a door on it..." Rein looks on with pity at the dryads Lira: Powerful magic needs no doors... Ayeye stares at the cage and bites her lip in thought. "Arzel? Could you teleport them out?" Par: Arzel? Can you? Earendil: It is doubtful that he could considering what happened when both of us tried to teleport. Ayeye shrugs. "Maybe, but we don't have any other options..." Rein: I think in this case it might be better to go after the source... Earendil: We could defeat Yegaar. Arzel trys to teleport them out. GMRune: The magic sputters and fails. Thankfully though, Arzel does NOT wind up in the cage with them. Ayeye frowns. "I don't like this... Yegaar is powerful... he'll probably kill us again..." Seera speaks quietly. "It's no use I'm afraid... Yegaar's has become far too strong in his undead state..." Tarrant: I agee we should skill Yeegar. Earendil: But we must try. Ayeye sighs. "All right then..." Ayeye takes a deep breath. "Yegaar! Show yourself! You're going to pay for covering me in this icky stuff!" Lira points towards the staircase. "He's up there, on the roof--waiting for you." Earendil chomps down on the silverlight Rein let him have. GMRune: Earendil gains 20 MP. Ayeye looks at the staircase. "Oh... right... I should have guessed..." Ayeye: Obviously, a trap... Earendil: If its a trap, then we shall walk into a trap. Ayeye looks at the group. "So, who wants to go first?" Earendil heads for the staircase. Tarrant follows Ear. Ayeye heads for the staircase with Earendil, "We can't have the Dragonmaster getting himself killed..." GMRune: A blast of chill air hits Earendil as he nears the staircase. Just as he's about to set foot on the first step, a bright red light begins to shine. Earendil: What the...? GMRune: The light bursts and winks out of view, leaving only a pink-haired girl dressing in a neon pink tunic with a red cape suspended in midair! Earendil: Who are you? Ayeye stands there, utterly confused. "What kind of a trap is this?" Earendil: A rather pretty one. Girl falls down with a phump down on Tarrant. Rein blinkblinks. Girl: O_o Earendil makes a weird anime face. Girl gets off of Tarrant. "S... Sorry... ^^;" Earendil: Who are you?! Ayeye keeps her spear ready to attack. "And why are you here?" Tarrant: It's ok.. You can land on me anytime you want. Girl: I'm...... My name is..... Magdeline. ^^; Par: O_O Earendil: Magdeline? Why in Althena's name are you here? Are you in league with the lyche? Magdeline adjusts her hood over her face and fixes her cape over her. Ayeye sighs, "Are you here to stop us from turning Yegaar into little bitty really dead pieces, or not?" Magdeline: Not! I'm here to help you... *Turns around. * Pfft.. not like that's beleivable.. Earendil: Strange pink-haired girls don't turn up in the tower of a lyche everyday. Magdeline: Uhhmm. Okay. I was sent here to help though. I guess you can assume what you want, because I'm helping no matter what. Rein looks around at the other party members. Earendil: Who sent you? Magdeline turns back around. Ayeye: Right... well... how are you going to help? Magdeline: I can fight.. and.. Quark sent me. Earendil: Did he now? How is it that you come to know the White Dragon of Althena? Magdeline ponders. "He's a friend of mine.. I met him when I was lost in his cave. And I wanted to help out with the cause, so he sent me here." Ayeye looks up toward the stairs. "Well, if you are going to help, let's get going... We wouldn't want Yegaar to become bored." Magdeline nods! Earendil: Fine. Earendil continues up the stairs. Magdeline follows very quietly now. Ayeye starts up the stairs. Rein follows right behind Ayeye. GMRune: The sky is dark and angry about the rooftop at the end of the stairs. The whole of Vane's valley is spread out before you like a distant painting. Standing facing outward and arms folded in front is a robed figure. Wispy strands of white hair adorn an otherwise bare head. Magdeline: o O (Gosh.. I'm finally back. O_o What a coward! They'd beleive me if i told the story! ) Ayeye: Hello! Yegaar turns around and you see that there is no longer any flesh on his body. Pinpoint lights stare fiercely out at your from the sockets of a grinning skull. "Welcome, grandson of Corwin and his feeble companions." Earendil looks at Yegaar in disgust. Ayeye: You really aren't looking healthy, you might want to take some more vitamins... Yegaar: It's surprising that you actually come, really. I thought I had killed you. Tarrant notices that Yegaar's speach is impaired as he has no lips. Yegaar's voice seems to emanate from his chest cavity rather than from his jaws. Ayeye: Funny how many people have thought they killed us... Tarrant: Well, I guess your going to be surprised whenever we vanquish you. Yegaar: Hmph. I suppose I will have to make certain you do not revive again. Earendil: Do you really think you can challenge Althena's power? Yegaar raises his skeletal arms to the sky! Blue light surrounds him. Tarrant takes 1 damage! GMRune: Yegaar casts Star Fall on Tarrant! A blue beam of light centers on Tarrant, serving as a path for the arrival of a gigantic globe of starfire! GMRune: 89 damage! GMRune: Magdeline casts Fire Blast! She hurls a bolt of flame at the undead wizard! GMRune: 1 damage! Magdeline: o O ( ...Well.... looks like you have to.... ) GMRune: Earendil casts White Dragon Protect! An ethereal image of Quark appears behind the party with a massive roar! Globes of crystal shimmer into view around each of the party members then vanish. Each member of the party is protected from one magical attack. GMRune: Valina casts Dispel Magic! Yegaar's Star Shield is broken down! GMRune: Arzel casts Fire Breath! He sucks in a lungful of air and exhales a large gout of flame in Yegaar's direction! GMRune: 136 damage! GMRune: Par casts Ice Sword! He gestures and produces a large shaft of ice which homes in on Yegaar's position! GMRune: 269 damage! GMRune: Tarrant casts Vine Scourge! Tarrant summons up a vine through the crac in the flooring! The vine lashes out at the undead wizard. GMRune: 352 damage! GMRune: ------round 2------- Magdeline sighs. Magdeline: o O (I came here to protect my friends... and that's what I'll do!) GMRune: Ayeye attacks Yegaar! GMRune: attack 1: 330 damage GMRune: attack 2: miss GMRune: Rein casts Calm Litany over the party! Blue sparklies float down and heal everyone 196 hp! GMRune: Magdeline raises up her morning star and swings a massive strike at Yegaar! She uses Shatter Blow! GMRune: 596 damage! Earendil: Well struck. Magdeline shakes her head. "I'm sorry for being paranoid..." she says to no one in particualr. Maggy pushes her cape on her shoulders so she can have her hands free to attack with her very large weapon. Magdeline did a little yaha when she attacked, BTW. ^^; GMRune: Yegaar casts Meteor Rush! Flaming rocks rain down from the heavens but bounce harmlessly off the White Dragon's barriers! White Dragon Protect fades. GMRune: Yegaar casts Star Fall on Par! GMRune: 230 damage! GMRune: Yegaar casts Star Fall on Arzel! GMRune: 337 damage! GMRune: Earendil uses Power Strike! He leaps into the air and brings his sword down on Yegaar's shoulder! GMRune: 383 damage! GMRune: Valina uses Power Strike! She fades from view in a blur and reappears with her sword slashed through Yegaar's abdomen! GMRune: 285 damage! GMRune: Arzel casts Heal Aura on the back row! GMRune: Arzel and Par each gain 224 hp! GMRune: Par casts Magic Barrier! A wall blocking enemy magic appears in front of him! GMRune: Tarrant casts Convalescence Litany! Tarrant will recover a small amount of hp at the end of each round. Tarrant takes 1 damage! GMRune: Yegaar casts Star Shield! A barrier forms around him, protecting him from enemy spells! GMRune: Yegaar casts Star Fall! A combet sails in along a path of bluish light to strike Ayeye! GMRune: 511 damage! GMRune: Ayeye is defeated. Ayeye futily tries to block with the spear. Ayeye goes falling really far. Rein: Crap... GMRune: Magdeline uses Shatter Blow! She swings her morning star at Yegaar, which makes a nice crunch upside Yegaar's skull! GMRune: 571 damage! Magdeline swings again! "YAha!" GMRune: Earendil casts Star Shield on himself! He is protected from enemy spells! GMRune: Valina casts Dispel Magic on Yegaar! Yegaar's Star Shield dissolves in a flash of light! GMRune: Arzel casts Pulse Laser! Par casts Fire Arrow! Tarrant casts Thunder Bolt! The three different energies combine to form Heat Shock! GMRune: Yegaar is blasted for 1386 damage! GMRune: Tarrant gains 59 hp. GMRune: ------round 4------ GMRune: Ayeye bleeds... GMRune: badly. GMRune: Kadan attacks Yegaar! GMRune: attack 1: miss GMRune: attack 2: miss GMRune: Rein casts Chaos Call! The sapphire gem of his pendant flares to life, surrounding him in its mystic aura! Rein closes his eyes as he forms a ball of light between his hands. The power steadily grows, becoming larger with frightening speed. He lets out a shout as he throws the ball forward at Yegaar's being! GMRune: Yegaar takes 694 damage! Each of the party members take 78 damage! Rein is unharmed. Earendil: Um, Rein... Rein slumps back from the blast. Earendil: Warn us next time. Rein nods. GMRune: Yegaar casts Dispel on Earendil! He looses his Star Shield! Earendil gives Yegaar a dirty look GMRune: Yegaar casts Star Fall on Valina! GMRune: 564 damage! GMRune: Valina is knocked unconscious! Earendil: Valina! Yegaar: Don't worry. You'll soon be joining her! GMRune: Yegaar casts Star Fall on Earendil! GMRune: 594 damage! GMRune: Earendil is knocked unconscious! GMRune: Magdeline uses Shatter Blow on Yegaar! GMRune: 535 damage! GMRune: Yegaar casts Meteor Rush! Meteors gather en masse to smash the party! GMRune: Kadan is protected! Rein takes 115 damage! Magdeline takes 183 damage and is knocked out! Earendil takes 216 damage and is knocked out! Arzel takes 18 damage! Par takes 1 damage! Tarran takes 1 damage! Magdeline: *Oof* GMRune: Magdeline is unconscious. So is Earendil. GMRune: Arzel, Par, and Tarrant unite their magic to cast Heat Shock! A massive barrage of pure energy strike Yegaar dead on! GMRune: 1406 damage! GMRune: ------victory!------- Arzel blinks in disbelief. GMRune: Ayeye, Earendil, Magdeline, and Valina wake up with 1 hp. Ayeye slowly stands up and checks to make sure all of her limbs are still there. Valina: ... Earendil slowly gets up using his sword. "Did... did we do it?" Valina has a headache. GMRune: The party earns 994 XP, 339 MEXP, and 300 S. Rein props himself up on his staff (16mp == tired) Magdeline gets up and sits on the ground. Earendil walks over to Val. "Are you okay?" Yegaar howls an unearthly call. His bones begin to disintegrate as he collapses into a pile of dust. Enshrouded by his musty robes are a white feather and a small blue globe of light. Ayeye stumbles around. "Wow, you did it..." Tarrant runs over to the small globe. "I put this where it belongs!" Rein casts heal aura witht he last of his magic. GMRune: The party gains 182 hp! Earendil: So that was the all-powerful lyche? Magdeline gets up. Ayeye gives Earendil an angry glace. "He was nastier before!" Rein: He left something... by his robes... Rein points at the feather and ball. GMRune: When Tarrant picks up the small globe the light melds into his hands, restoring his lost star magic. Arzel casts Heal Aura sence Rein is out of mana. GMRune: Everyone gains 224 hp. Tarrant does a jig to celebrate the occasion. Arzel stands quietly. Earendil goes over and picks up the feather, "So this is the feather of the Pegasus?" GMRune: The feather looks much like the feather of any bird, but upon closer inspection you see that the feather is composed of several small hairs, much like mammalian hair. Earendil: What do we do with it? Keep it, or take it back to Tallus? Par shrugs. "I think Tallus said we could borrow it if we retrieved it..." Valina shrugs her shoulders. Rein kicks thoughtfully at Yegaar's robes. Earendil: Well, unless anybody else wants it, I shall keep it for now. Arzel finds something to lean against and does so. Earendil hands the feather to Val. "Here, I think you should have this." Valina takes the feather. Valina: Thank you. Valina *huggles* Earendil! Earendil's face grows red. Magdeline puts her cloak back to how it was before.. Valina puts her giant acorn aside and 'equips' the feather Earendil: Well, I suppose the next thing to get is the Phoenix Robe. Par: Don't forget we have to free the dryads down below too. Earendil: Oh yeah. Their cages should be open by now. Rein: Hopefully... Earendil heads for the stairs. Arzel follows Ear. Par follows Earendil. Magdeline follows. Magdeline looks around at the group, now that she has time. GMRune: You see the dryads are still in their cage (after all, it had no doors), but they look vibrant, as though a measure of their youth has returned. Lira: We felt the magic leave the cage. You defeated him! Earendil: I guess we can lift the cage off or Arzel can try to teleport them. Arzel nods and trys to teleport them out again. The bush pokes its top out of Ayeye's backpack, looks at Magdeline, and pants. Magdeline: ^^; GMRune: Lira and Seera wink out from inside the cage and reappear in front of the party outside. Lira bows. "Thank you very much." Seera nods as well, but remains silent. Arzel nods quietly Lira: Where are you going now? Earendil: We're off to find the next relic, the Phoenix Robe. Seera lifts her head slightly and speaks in a soft voice. "The Phoenix Robe? Have you any idea where to look? No mortal has ever been to the Phoenix's lair." Earendil: That is the problem, but we have to find it. Arzel withdraws quietly and finds a shadowed wall to lean against. Rein: We're pretty good at finding things, though. Seera: It is to the east, far to the east, surrounded by a desert so hot your boots will catch fire by merely touching its sands. Earendil: Is there any way to cross this desert safely? Rein: Sounds like we'll have to fly there... Seera: The young priest is right. You must fly or you won't get there at all! Rein: Of course, that'd probably be pretty hot too... hmmm... Valina: Oh boy. Magdeline hmms. O_o Earendil: Griffyns or wyburns again? Arzel: ..And how are we supposed to fly? Only one of us can fly, and she's not here right now.. Earendil: And she couldn't carry all of us anyway. Magdeline: ^^;;; Lira: I don't know if this will help, but there's supposed to be a sage to the south that knows how to build an airship... Rein: Do you know the sage's name? Lira: T'lain. Arzel: ...isn't he... unconcious? Lira blinks. "He is?" Lira: Maybe you could wake him up? Earendil: How? Arzel: He said something about a mirror... didn't he? Par nods. "Yes, Bane attacked him with a mirror." Par: The mirror trapped T'lain soul if I recall his final words correctly... Arzel: He said he'd be released in the mirror was destroyed. Earendil: Okay, now we have to find this mirror. Arzel: ...It's probobly with Bane... wherever he is Par: He rules House Flysse, which was pretty damn totalled after what Shea did to it. He might be at the manors rebuilding. Earendil: I think we shall fair better against him this time, but I believe we should replenish our mana first. Rein nodnods. Earendil: Perhaps I can use the wings to transport us to a mana stone. Par: Go for it. Earendil bows to the dryads. "Thank you for your help." Valina stands beside Earendil. Lira: You're welcome. We've needed your help as well. Good luck in your journey. Earendil holds up the White Dragon Wings and concentrates on transporting the party to the magic stone outside of Geint's cave. GMRune: The party vanishes in a flash of white light!
