GMRune: -------victory!------ Ayeye spins her spear as she jumps back from the kill. Rein quickly casts off a heal aura. GMRune: The party earns 544 XP, 155 MEXP, and 261 S. GMRune: The party gains 131 hp a piece (or goes to full) from Rein's Heal Aura. Earendil sheaths his sword. "Well, now what do we do?" Par: We still need to find a way inside the manor. Valina sits on the grass. Earendil: We HAD a way into the manor. Geint: ..... Geint: I have an idea... Ayeye: We had no such thing! The bush sulks. Rein: Yes, Geint? Geint looks up. "Well... he was interested in the ambush..... but we don't need it....." Geint looks at Tarrant. Par: That's brilliant, Geint! Geint: We could find a bug or something, Tarrant could make it an ambush....... the spell would wear off..... but by that time, we'd be gone.. and the bug would be a bug again. Rein pats Geint on the head. Earendil: Mmm, might work. Ayeye, will it satisfy you? Ayeye: I like that idea, much better than anything our fearless leader came up with. Earendil: It's a bloody bush! But the more I think of it, maybe we should turn you into the ambush Tarrant: Well we would need to find something a little bit bigger than a bug... Maybe a rabbit. Ayeye: Well, at least I would not have to put up with you then! Geint: I don't want a rabbit turned over to the warlocks. ;b Earendil: And maybe the warlocks would make a delicious salad out of you. Geint: What if... they think something was bad about it.. and would test on it..... Valina ignores the argument to the best of her abilities. Rein: Well we've got to turn *something* into the bush. Geint looks at Earendil with a sigh. Geint: We could also turn ourselves and be ambush spies. ;b Geint: But I think it would be best to turn a bug so it could have seemingly disappeared and it wouldn't be obvious what had happened... Ayeye smiles at Earendil. "You are only saying that because you have a hidden love for me." Earendil grins. "And you are only saying that because you want me to have a hidden love for you." Valina hopes Earendil doesn't have a hidden love for Ayeye. Rein: A bug definately won't work, Tarrant? Ayeye shrugs. "Maybe, but somehow I do not think I will ever lower my standerds that far." Geint: I doubt it... Tarrant: It's too small... Geint: Because, see... Geint: It could turn something much larger than an ambush... Geint: Why wouldn't something much smaller work? Earendil: I very much doubt that any man would be willing to pay more than 2 silver to be with you. Rein: How about a bird? Geint hmms at Rein. Valina: Or a mouse? Ayeye: At least I could get 2 silver, unlike you. Par: Whatever we use, we'll have to at least find it first. Tarrant: Hmm... Maybe.. Geint: I can find things. ^_^ Rein: How about Kadan? I'd like to see the guard that sees the transformation back... ~Kadan gruffly pretends to ignore Rein's comment. Earendil: And you would actually accept it. Ayeye: Accept nothing for you?! Are you insane? You would have to pay me... a lot... Earendil walks away from Ayeye and stands by Valina. Par: So... Ear, Ayeye, is this argument over? At least for now? Earendil: I have nothing more to say to her. Ayeye turns toward Par. "Until he does something stupid again. It should not be long." Geint sighs.. Rein: Oh, Par, don't get them started again... Par sighs. "Well, then let's get something Tarrant can cange into an ambush." Geint: So? What are we doing? Geint: A bird? Geint flaps. Rein: That sounds good to me, Geint Geint: Should I go retreive a bird? Oh... I hope it flies away when it turns back... ;_; Rein: Geint, if you were a human, you'd *know* how hard it is to catch a bird. Par: Maybe Geint can Herbal Breeze it. Valina: Earendil... Tarrant: How about some livestock? Geint nods to Par. Valina: Ayeye.... Valina: Please? Just get a long for now. Geint takes to the air and flies into a tree quietly and stealthily. Rein: Well, I meant it'll be hard for the guards to catch it... I'm sure Geint's hunting skills are unsurpassed. =) Ayeye nods to Valina. "I will try... for you..." Earendil holds Valina's hand. "For you, I will try." Geint glides down. GMRune: Geint is carrying a sparrow in her mouth. GMRune: The sparrow is currently unconscious, and likely better for it. Tarrant prepares to cast the spell. Rein: Geint, how did you knock it unconscious? Are you carrying the world's smallest blackjack or what? Geint: I used herbal breeze. =) Rein: Oh, of course! Geint: Like I do to people every now and then. ^_^ Geint sets the bird down when she lands. GMRune: Tarrant casts the spell on the sparrow and the bird turns into a small ambush, looking much like the party's own bush. Geint hmms. Geint: It would be best if it was awake... Ayeye tucks the bush into her backpack and closes it carefully. She then proceeds to pick up the temp bush. Geint: So the warlocks don't doubt it's alive or if there's something wrong with it. Ayeye: Ah... how do you wake up a bush? Geint flies over to Ayeye and the sparrow. The bush doesn't seem to like being shut up in Ayeye's backpack. It shakes the backpack uneasily. Geint pats the thing somewhat roughly but not enough to particularly hurt. Geint: ........Someone may wanna stay back here and watch Ayeye's bush. Ayeye tries to look back at her backpack. "Be quite in there, it will only be for a little while." Geint: ...Or I could put your bush to sleep, Ayeye. =) It doesn't hurt. It's not like smoke choke. The bush stops bouncing around so much, and seems to reluctnatly resign itself to being shut up in there. Valina just sits here... making sure Earendil doesn't get upset again. GMRune: The temporary bush begins to stir in Ayeye's arms. Geint: Okay, Ayeye? Your bush will sleep? Ayeye: He will be quiet, I hope... Geint: .......If you're sure.... =\ Ayeye looks at the bush in her hands and starts back toward the warlocks. "We better go quickly." Geint: o O (Oh well. If he fusses at all and Ayeye is wrong, I'll cast it.) GMRune: The party heads back towards the gates of the warlock manor. The two sentries are still standing there at the entrance. Earendil: Let's just hope it doesn't turn back when we hand it over. Geint looks at Arzel for a second. Ayeye smiles and waves nervously. "We're back. They convinced me. At sword point, but it was still convincing..." Geint: ^^; o O (I wonder if Arzel will mind me hiding in his hood again.) Ayeye holds out the bush. The sentry seems suspicious but he takes the offered bush and inspects it. Kadan: I'm surprised they considered that little thing "tame". Arzel shrugs in Geint's general direction. GMRune: The temporary bush wiggles uneasily. Geint quickly hides in Arzel's hood quickly. =b Sentry: All right. You can go in. But don't touch anything and don't go inside the manors. Stay on the manor grounds. Ayeye bows. "Thank you." GMRune: The party passes into the collection of manors that serve as the base for House Erde. Earendil whispers, "I hope that this isn't a trap." Kadan forgets about his grumpiness temporarily and tries to examine his surroundings, absorbing the new territory. GMRune: Inside the outer walls of the manors the stone fortifications seem even more imposing. There are a total of five manors. One of them is obviously much larger and more opulent than the others. The snake and dagger symbol is carved largely on its front. Geint crawls out to Arzel's shoulder and looks about... Ayeye: Of course it's a trap, I just hope we don't get caught. GMRune: There are no warlocks out on the ground right now, but you can catch glimpses of movement from inside the manors. Various gardens of herbs and flowers line the outside of every manor. Valina looks at the gardens... Ayeye looks around. "Now that we are in, what do we do?" Earendil: Such beautiful flowers for such evil people. GMRune: A small doglike creature trots around from behind one of the manors. It sniffs in the party's direction and continues on its way. Valina: Yea. Rein eyes the canine-ish creature. The dog creature pauses and yips in Rein's direction. Geint herbal breezes the dog FAST! The dog collapses and falls asleep. Geint: Move, folks.... before someone comes to see what the matter was... Ayeye looks back toward the gate. "So... how long does that spell last?" Par nods. "Move where?" Geint shrugs. ^^; Earendil: What we are looking for is probably in the largest manor. Geint: I dunno. Aren't we going somewhere? Geint: We shouldn't stand around... Rein sticks his tongue out at the sleeping faux- dog. Valina doesn't really care where she goes, as long as she stays outta trouble. Geint: Uhhmm... Geint: Fooolllksss... ^^; Geint: Move FAST! I just saw my sparrow fly!! -_- Ayeye looks for the nearest door, and runs in it. Earendil: Great. Geint meeps and takes to the air so she can watch for any warlocks. GMRune: The party scampers into the manor on Ayeye's heels. They find themselves in a vaulted hall with brown carpeting in the color of Erde's symbol. The floor suddenly opens up beneath you and the party drops through a massive pit trap! Geint goes somewhat high so she can't particulrly be noticed from below. Valina: Ahhh... Ayeye mutters, "I should have taken the direction Kadan would have taken..." Valina tries to lighten her landing by controlling the air around her like she tends to do when falling. GMRune: The party crashes down below into a small pile of hay. The shaft are stiff and do make for an easy landing. GMRune: The floor through which you fell is easily two dozen feet about you. As you watch, the floor rematerializes, leaving you trapped in your current surroundings. Ayeye smiles innocently at the party. "Oops." Tarrant: We're stuck... Valina: Oh great... GMRune: The party seems to be stuck in a dungeon of sorts. The walls on all sides of you are carved out of solid rock, and there is a massive grate about ten feet long and six feet high to one side of your prison. The base of the grate is still about seven feet above the ground though. Earendil: Deja vu. GMRune: You hear a click, then water begins to trickle in through the grate. GMRune: As the seconds turn into minutes the water begins to flow faster and in greater volume. You see a small fish slide in through one of the holes in the grate. It splashes in the salty water and begins swimming around your ankles. Ayeye: This is not good, is it? Ayeye: Anyone see an exit? Arzel: Hmm... I think I may be able to teleport us out.. Earendil: Try it! Valina: Ummm... is now a good time to remind you... I can't swim. GMRune: The party is vaguely able to hear some laughing above the flow of the water. Arzel attempts to teleport the group to dry land nearby. Rein: Uh, Arzel... Rein: I don't know if that's such a good idea... GMRune: The party vanishes and reappears back out in the courtyard. Rein looks around, in a panic... Earendil: Thank you, Arzel. Rein: Whoa.. it worked! Geint looks down at them. Ayeye quickly opens the backpack, suddenly remembering about the bush. The dog yips at the party. It's awake again. It wags its tail. Geint: o O (Uh oh.... ) Arzel: Hmm... Now the warlocks probobly sensed that... Earendil: Valina, are you okay? Rein: Sorry I doubted you, Arzel! Valina goes to the dog and pets it nicely. The bush is still inside and seems happy to be able to breath again. Geint flies down to the group in a swift glide. Ayeye bends over and pets the dog. Valina: Ahhh... you're so cute! Valina: Can we keep her? Geint: What happened?! The dog creature wags its tail again. Earendil: Valina, I don't think we can keep it. Geint: Why did Arzel teleport? That is what happened, right? Or did something teleport you out? Valina: Ohhh... Geint looks frantic..... but cute. Arzel: We got caught in a trap... Valina: Earendil, when this mess is over, you promise to get me a puppy? Or a kitty! Geint: A... trap? Earendil: How about both, Valina? Geint: That means someone will find us here any second. -_- Valina: :D Rein: Yeah, maybe we should split. Earendil: Come on, let's at least get behind one of the buildings. Geint: And we're in serious warlock teritory. O_o Ahh! Why is everything so evil! Geint gets cuter the more nervous she gets. Par: Well, there's always the big one, of the manors that is. Ayeye: We would be better off inside, I would think. They will be looking for us out here... Geint: Let's move then.... Geint: Where? Earendil starts heading for the large manor. Geint follows Earendil. The dog barks loudly and trots quickly away from the party. Ayeye reluctantly follows Earendil. Earendil looks back at the dog. "Not good" GMRune: The large manor is towards the back of the courtyard. As you get closer, you see that the the warlock symbol on the building has white flecks scattered across it. GMRune: The two double doors leading inside are hanging strangely open. Earendil: Well, we're going to walk into another trap. GMRune: The party hears an ethereal snickering echoing around them. Ayeye shrugs. "I'll step into it, to test it..." Geint: ... Arzel: Garreth... Geint does a kawaii grimace. Valina: ~sigh~ Earendil's eyes flash with rage. "Garreth?!" Garreth's voice chuckles. "Arzy...!" He laughes. Valina: ... You killed me! I don't like you anymorem Garreth! Earendil gets in front of Valina, "Stay back." Ayeye: Show yourself! Valina nods at Earnedil's command. Garreth: I'm waiting. Do come in! Gausuton has words you simply _must_ hear! Earendil: Come out Garreth, I have a score to settle with you. Ayeye: We can hear fine from here, Warlock! Garreth: I will not "come out", sir knight, as I am not even "here". I am upstairs, in the manor, and I'm waiting. Valina: And Gausuton... Geint just kind of flaps while the group engages in heroic banter, answered by Garreth's silly villian speaches. Valina: Gee, my two worst hated warlocks in one place. :P Arzel: So, what are you doing with House Erde, Garreth? Sucking up like usual? Earendil whispers to the others, "We may have little choice but to go in. If we try to leave, they'll attack us in the courtyard." Ayeye takes a step back and looks at the manor. "Where, excatly, are you up there?" Arzel shrugs and walks towards the manor house. Geint conciders something.... Geint gets an idea. -_- Garreth: I am not "sucking up". I'm attending to business here. You know that lovely pendant your dear Valina had? I have that, and before long, I'll have unlocked its secrets as well. Unless, of course, you are game to stop me. Geint flies away. O_o Ayeye looks to see if there are any windows on the upper floors visible from here. Valina: ... Rein mutters to no one in particular, "They've got us in a no win situation again... I'm getting tired of this." GMRune: There are rows of windows visible, but they are all closed and their curtains are shut. Valina: Can we... kill him... Valina: He killed me! Earendil: I will never forgive him for that! Garreth: Yes, try and kill me! I bet your blood will look good spilled all over my dagger again. Tarrant: Anyone know a fire spell...? We can smoke them out. Ayeye wonders if it is possible to scale the manor walls with her claws... GMRune: The grass and plants in the courtyard rustle unnaturally. Earendil: Garreth, if you EVER come near her again, I'll slice you into so many pieces, they'll be able to use you for cold cuts! Ayeye pulls the claws out of her backpack attempts to climb up to a window. GMRune: When Ayeye tries digging her claws into the bricks of the manor she is stopped by an invisible barrier. Earendil is protecting Valina and trying to figure out what thre rest of the party is doing. Valina is hiding behind her man. :P Arzel walks into the manor calmly. Ayeye attacks the wall repeatedly, and futily, I suppose... Geint swoops back. GMRune: Arzel enters the manor and vanishes in a pool of blackness. Geint notices Arzel is gone. Geint looks and sees him leave in the blackness thing. O_o Geint follows!! Ayeye angrily puts the claws away. "Stupid warlocks, forcing us into stupid traps..." Earendil looks at Valina. "Do you want to go in?" Valina: Yes. Valina: Let's. Earendil: Okay then. Earendil heads in. Valina follows. GMRune: Earendil and Valina vanish into pools of darkness. Ayeye glances at Kadan. "Shall we?" Rein shrugs and heads into the blackness. GMRune: Rein disappears into darkness. Ayeye gets impatient easily and drags Kadan into the manor. GMRune: Ayeye and Kadan are absorbed by the darkness. Par grabs Tarrant and drags him in. GMRune: Each member of the party finds him/herself floating in blackness, alone and without companions. Garreth's thoughts are nearby though. You can sense his mirth and laughter. Arzel chuckles, "You like the darkness, don't you Garreth?" Garreth: (privately to Arzel) Yeah, it let's me avoid looking at your ugly mug! Valina stays strong! Valina: Earendil?? Are you here? Arzel snickers. "Your attempts to insult me are wasted..." GMRune: Valina hears no answer. Valina: ~sigh~ Garreth: I'm not surprised, seeing what a waste _you_ are. Valina moves slow'y toward Garreth's thoughts. Rein kicks Garreth's thoughts in the nads. Arzel: I'll make you eat your words one day Garreth, I will. Geint pffts. Kadan: ... Garreth: Tough words, but you may get your chance! Ayeye reaches out and tries to find something to hold on to... Valina looks at Garreth's thoughts... Valina: So this is what an evil thought looks like. Rein swings his staff around him slowly, looking for anything solid in the blackness. Arzel: I've already exceeded what you though was possible of me, I've learned teleportation magic! Earendil reaches around feeling for Valina. Geint just hangs out. Valina is in darkness, again. GMRune: The party appears, suspending in the air in a large audience chamber. Garreth is standing with his arms crossed over his chest near the room's head. Lord Gausuton stands behind him and on a dais. The older warlock is dressed completely in black armor save for the green of his warlock symbol on his breastplace. Geint blinks a few times. Garreth: You're always so funny, Arzel. I think that's why I let you live. Ayeye grins sheepishly and waves to the warlocks. "Hello." Arzel: Ha, I think you don't have it in you to kill me Garreth. Garreth smirks and steps away as Gausuton comes forward. Earendil narrows his eyes at Gausuton and Garreth. "Well Gausuton, have you lost interest in my sister?" Gausuton speaks in measured tones, devoid of emotion. There is only discipline and fact behind his words. "I do not loose interest in anything that concerns the welfare of the Empire. And the nine of you, are a definite concern." Arzel quickly flicks his head, tossing his hood off. Ayeye: I don't suppose you're going to let us go with just a warning? GMRune: A flicker of amusement seems to have passed over Gausuton's face. "Perhaps. We shall see soon enough." Ayeye takes a deep breath. "What do you want with the pendents?" Geint: .... Valina looks at Gausuton with a vengeful eye... Earendil: And what are you going to do to us, "concerns?" Rein flails stupidly. Gausuton: The pendants are for Kargeth to use. We have the Serpent Staff and the tome that explains its usage. Now all we have that remains is to bend the three pendants to our will so they we may open the book and gain the knowledge we need. Ayeye: What knowledge do you need, and why? Valina: And you can't do that without me... and you know what dear Gausuton!! You are NOT going to have ME!!! Earendil: I will not let you have her! Geint sighs. Kadan: The pendants cannot be manipulated through sheer force alone. Gausuton looks at Valina. "But, with the ceremony Garreth is about to perform, we'll no longer _need_ you. That is why you are now expendable." Earendil: What are you going to do to her? Valina: Well... I don't think this world needs YOU! You cold hearted MURDERER. Gausuton steps up to Valina and shifts his gaze towards Earendil. "I will do nothing, save if you escape here somehow." He raises his hand towards her. "I need only her gem, so that the pendant may be complete." Valina: No. Ayeye raises an eyebrow. "Her gem?" Earendil: We won't let you take it. Gausuton's gloved hand glows and Valina's gem appears within his grasp. Satisfied, the warlock turns his back towards the party. Valina: AH! Gausuton: I don't think you could have. Gausuton crosses the room back towards the dais. An alter lies on it and you can see Valina's pendant lying atop a velvet cushion. Rein continues flailing and manages to throw himself into a violent spin. Valina whispers... "If there is only a way I can get my pendant back..." Earendil whispers back, "But we also have to find a way out." Valina: Yea... GMRune: Gausuton raises the pendant with his magic and holds the gem up to it. The two fuse into one. He then allows the completed pendant to fall back upon the cushion. Valina is very upset. Valina: NO! Ayeye: Weren't there three pendents? Geint glances at the spinning Rein. Geint shakes her head. ;b Ayeye pushes herself away from the nearest person to see if she can float somewhere. Rein's face is getting red from the centripetal force. Valina simply doesn't like this. Gausuton turns back around. He looks first coldly at the party, then at Garreth. "The chance for ascension is yours, Garreth. I will leave to join Lord Kargeth now. The matter is in your hands." GMRune: Ayeye is somewhat held in place. It seems that vertical and horizontal motion are difficult to achieve. Valina: o_O I didn't know Gausuton was stupid enought to trust Garreth. Gausuton gestures and vanishes in a cloud of emerald mist. Garreth cracks his knuckles and looks at the party. "Well, let's see which goose I can cook first here." GMRune: -------end session------
