The temporary repairs seem to be holding. Earendil: Oh great. This is just what we needed. GMRune: The captain is not on deck. It seems he has gone into his cabin. Ayeye: This isn't going to hold... How are we going to get there now?! Par: I really wish I knew how to teleport about now... Geint: =\ Kadan: Eh... Teleportation is even more dangerous than a battle with warlocks... Earendil: I agree. Geint: How did I know you'd say that. Heh. Rein: This isn't a good time for the captain to take a nap, I'm afraid... Par: I don't think he's taking a nap, Rein. Calling the warlocks isn't lighting a fire and waving it around... Ayeye looks out across the sea. Earendil: Well, there is no way we can swim for it. Tarrant: Agreed. Mainly because I can't swim well at all. Ayeye: So, you're telling me we are stuck on a sinking ship with warlocks coming to save us? This is just getting better... Geint snickers a bit..... Oh this is so unfunny it's pathetic. =b Par taps the rail of the ship with his cane. "Then we'd better start getting creative." Geint: It just figures this would happen to us. Ayeye looks over the side. "Aren't there any escape boats or anything?" Earendil: What good would those do? The warlocks would see us trying to get away from this boat and pursue. Rein: Well I'm sure we've got a *little* while before they show up... Ayeye: Not if they are busy trying to save the others on this boat. Par: The warlocks aren't here yet though. Geint: Well, Ayeye? Are there any? Ayeye: I don't know, I don't see any... Kadan suddenly becomes very nervous about the prospect of giant eels. GMRune: Ayeye seems to be facing the wrong direction because there are two smaller boats towards the stern of the ship. Par: Well, should we go for it? Geint hmms... Ayeye jumps. "Oh! Here are some boats!" Geint: Uhh... where was it they said the warlock ship was? Did they say near here? Par shakes his head. "He just said he's calling them. I don't know where they are." Geint hmms... Rein: Are there oars in the boats or something? Geint walks over to the door the captain went in and puts her ear up to it. Ayeye starts to put a boat into the water. GMRune: The party can't tell. The boats are covered with waterproof canvas and tied to the ship. Ayeye attempts to uncover and untie the boat. Geint smiles and continues listening... GMRune: The cover comes off easily, the knot is taking some time to undo. Geint listens for another voice. Tarrant helps Ayeye by doing the same to the other boat. Geint: ^^; Geint walks away from the door.. Kadan puts his hand over his brow to survey the area. "I wonder if we could escape before being spotted..." Geint goes over to the party. "They're in the area." O_o GMRune: Clouds start to drift more swiftly above you as the wind picks up. GMRune: One of the boat splashes into the water. A crewman notices what the party's actions. Crewman: Hey! What do you think you're doing?! Ayeye turns and smiles at the crewman. "Nothing?" GMRune: The wind starts to become more powerful. The two boats rock slightly. GMRune: Geint casts Herbal Breeze! The crewman falls asleep. Geint: *In a rehersed voice* Asleep on the job. How unprofessional. ^^; Ayeye shrugs, and climbs down into a boat. "That was too easy." GMRune: The boat in the water begins to drift away, due to the increased winds. Geint: *face fault* Geint flies down to try and retrieve it. Geint tries to pull it back over... GMRune: Geint isn't strong enough to pull the boat by herself. Tarrant makes a vine and attaches it to the the boat and to the lifeboat. Geint grabs the other part of the vine. Geint attaches it to the lifeboat for Tarrant. Tarrant: Hey Kadan, do me a favor and pull the boat back. GMRune: Ayeye is in the lifeboat. Geint flies high and looks for the ship that the captain spoke of. Kadan tries to tug the boat back. Ayeye tries to tug the big boat back to the little boat she is currently located on. GMRune: The boat and Ayeye in it come back closer to the ship. Ayeye: Come on guys! Move! GMRune: The smaller boat is now close enough that other people can jump down in it. Earendil: Mages first. Tarrant jumps on to the boat. Geint comes a bit closer to the ship she sees. Par gathers himself and jumps down into the boat. "I hope we're doing the right thing! I don't want to sail all the way to Caldor in this!" Arzel climbs down into the boat. Rein hops in the boat. ~Valina slides down the vine rope into the little boat. Earendil: I hope this thing doesn't sink when we're all in it. Par: Well... we always could throw out all the heavy armor you warriors wear. ^_- GMRune: Earendil and Kadan see a white speck heading straight for the ship. It's moving swiftly with the strong winds behind it. Earendil: What in Althena's name is that? Kadan: Umm... not cool. Arzel gazes at the little speck. Par: What are you guys staring at up there? I don't think we have much time to get out of here. Earendil: Hey, elves are supposed to have keen eyes, can't you see that white speck coming at us? GMRune: The larger ship is in the way of the people in the lifeboat from seeing the speck. Ayeye: Hurry up! We don't have much time! Earendil: Go Kadan, I'll come after you. Kadan hurries. Ayeye shakes her fist at the people still in the boat. "Get down here, or I will go up there and bring you down!" GMRune: Only Earendil isn't in the boat now. Earendil makes a jump for the boat and lands on Par. Par: Ow! That was on purpose!!! Par gets flat. Earendil gets himself untangled from Par. "Kadan, that white speck we saw started to look like some kind of ship." Kadan: That's very much not good. We can't let anything interfere with our trip at this point. Par grumbles and straightens himself out. He scoots to the opposite side of the boat from Earendil. Ayeye looks out across the water, "So, which way are we going?" The bush yips and hops out of Ayeye's backpack. It inspects the oars. Earendil: We are still a ways from Caldor. Kadan grabs and oar and gets a-rowing! Tarrant: I nominate Earendil and Kadan to row... Kadan: Good choices, pencil boy. Earendil grabs the other one. Geint is still away from you. =b Tarrant laughs to himself GMRune: The party begins to pull away from the Blaze 'n Glory. As you get away from its bulk and fight the increasing winds, everyone can see a white ship heading towards the one you just left. The winds are rapidly approaching gale force and seem to be aiding the white craft. Earendil: That can't be a warlock ship, can it? Ayeye reiterates her question. "Which way do we go?" Rein: Gee, do ya think? Arzel: I'm pretty sure it can... Kadan: Earendil, I think you should row on the side I'm not rowing on. Earendil looks at Arzel. "I have seen many warlock ships, none of them were ever white, but I guess they could of changed. GMRune: The white ship comes more clearly into view. It is a beautiful vessel with sky blue sails and a hull with the sheen of ivory. It glides swiftly through the water as though it were a natural creature of the sea. Ayeye: That is a warlock ship! It's... it's... beautiful... Rein: Hey, our rowboat's not too shabby itself, though! Kadan: Yeah! It has a homey charm! Earendil rolls his eyes. Kadan: Beautiful or not, I would prefer we steer clear of that ship. Earendil: We still can't be sure of its intent, but I agree, let's try to avoid it. Kadan: Could this small boat survive a journey to Caldor from here? I'm not familiar with the region. GMRune: The white craft skims over the water's surface and looks as though it will reach the Blaze 'n' Glory in less than a minute. Earendil: Nothing can travel that fast, even with this wind. Kadan: That's what I thought about Jael's mount. Par shakes his head. "These warlocks are the Seamasters. Wind and water obey their will." Earendil: True. Tarrant looks for a crest on their mast flag. Earendil: Well, with something that fast to follow us, we'll never make it to Caldor, and we have very little chance of making it back to Shelladon. GMRune: The party notices a pink speck huffing and puffing in the air around the white ship. Ayeye: Maybe it won't notice us... GMRune: The snake and dagger symbol is marked in on the largest of the white ship's three sails. Earendil points at the pink speck. "Look!" Ayeye notices the symbol. "Why does it always have to be them?" Par tries to get Earendil to keep rowing instead of pointing. Par frowns. "Well, at least House Zephyr does something useful. There aren't anymore pirates because of them." GMRune: The winds abruptly die down as the white ship pulls up alongside the Blaze 'n' Glory. No one on board seems to have noticed you at this point. Kadan tries to stay silent and inconspicuous. Rein: Try to look inconspicuous, guys. The bush stays quiet and imitates Kadan. GMRune: There is some commotion on board as a group of people dressed in loose-fitting tunics and pants transfer over from the white ship. Ayeye futily tries to make the boat go faster. Par wonders if Ayeye's efforts are just making them more conspicuous since she hasn't the strength to really move the boat. Rein paddles with his staff. Ayeye attempts to look like your average everday person paddling for her life in an escaped boat. Rein: This staff just doesn't grab the water... Earendil whispers to Val, "Hey Val, how about some inconspicuous wind to help us?" ~Valina: Wind? To blow us where? Which direction? Earendil looks to the others. "Shall we try for Caldor, or back to Shelladon? I say Shelladon." Ayeye: Caldor! If we end up back in Shelladon, how will we get to Caldor? Kadan shakes his head. "No, there's been to many delays already. We need to press on to Caldor." Earendil: And how long do you think we will stay unoticed? ~Valina: Please, where are we going? I want to go home. Earendil looks at Valina's eyes. "All right, we'll head for Caldor then." Earendil: . o O (Oh great, she has me whipped.) ~Valina looks around. "Which way is Caldor?" She looks down and shudders slightly. "I want to see Agnemark again." Earendil points in the general direction of Caldor. "Valina, it's that way." ~Valina nods sharply, taking on a determined light. She raises her hands and whispers the words to command the wind. GMRune: The small boat the party is in begins to move towards the west. Rein dries off his staff. GMRune: The speed gained by Valina's magic is nowhere near the amount the warlocks had used, but it is still faster than rowing. Kadan finds himself eager to see this distant island that he's only heard about. Ayeye wonders if a boat being propelled by a magical wind is more conspicuous than a girl paddling uselessly. GMRune: There is a makeshift mast that can be set up in the middle of the boat, complete with a small sail. GMRune: Suddenly shouts rise up from the Blaze 'n' Glory! Crewmen run around wildly shouting for help. GMRune: The party sees a trickle of smoke rising up from the stern near the staircase to the hold. Voices range from cries for water to chants drawing up streams of water from the ocean to quenc the flames (without flooding the boat any further). Earendil: Damn! Did they see us? GMRune: The smoke gets larger as it turns more into a giant cloud of steaming hot water vapor. Earendil: Geint? Ayeye tries to help propel the boat along. ~Valina doesn't look back and continues to pour on the speed, especially now that the two ships are distracted. Rein: I wonder if it's going to spread to the warlock ship? GMRune: The entire aft of the Blaze 'n' Glory is now covered in smoke and steam. No one on the ship seems to be paying attention to anything other than the current crisis at hand. Earendil: It is too beautiful a ship to waste, even if it is a warlock ship. I wonder when they started with the more aesthetically pleasing designs? Par: The Seamasters have always liked beautiful ships. The sea is their way of life. GMRune: The party sees a pink dot heading madly towards them in an attempt to catch up with you. Geint skims low to the watter so she can't get caught. Kadan: Ahhh! Pink dots! Rein: We don't know any pink dots! Par: Relax, Kadan! That ought to be Geint, especially since she's not with us right now. GMRune: Geint is exhausted when she finally catches up with the party. By now the two boats are out of sight and you see nothing but the open sea. Geint huffs and puffs and flops down. O_o Earendil pats Geint on the head. "Good job." Geint: Haaahhhth.... haaaaaahhhph.. The bush slurps Geint in understanding. Arzel gazes out over the open sea. Par: So... anyone have any idea how long it's gonna take us to get to Caldor in this little boat? Valina: Umm hopefully soon. I want to go home. Valina: I want to see my family. Arzel: The crewman on the boat said we were still days from Caldor... Geint blinks a few times, shakes her head as if from dizziness, and she is almost breathing normally. =b Earendil shrugs. "I've only been to Caldor once, and that was on a fair-sized galleon." Ayeye looks for land. "Too long... Anyone know how to fish? Looks like we will be eating sushi for a while." Par: Umm... anyone think to bring supplies then? Or are we fishing for a while? Valina has nothing. Geint: I *Huff* can fish *Huff* Earendil does not relish the thought of eating raw fish. Par: We can cook it. Arzel and I know fire magic. Though a fire in this boat might not be a good idea... Geint: And I do, too. ;b Geint: You *puff* saw that. ^_^ Earendil: Hmm, we can stick the fish on the end of my sword or Ayeye's spear. Geint gestures with her head behind them. Arzel nods slightly and goes back to gazing at the sea. Ayeye holds the spear protectively. "You're not buring my spear!" Earendil: Would you rather starve? Valina: ~sigh~ As long as I can get back to Brittel... and hopefully soon, my parents are proably worried sick about me. And Agnemark is probably out looking everywere for me... the whole town is proably so worried... oh, I hope I can get home soon! Earendil: Besides, it's metal. We won't be using a fire hot enough to harm it. Earendil takes his attention away from Ayeye and focuses on Valina. He gets a concerned look on his face. Ayeye: Humph! You cook it on your sword! Valina: Ahhh, what's this? Earendil: Hmm? Valina looks at her bundle of stuff... cause something feels hot. Valina takes out her gem... and holds it in her hand. Valina: It's warm. GMRune: Valina's lavender gem glows softly in slow pulses. Valina: It's beautiful... Earendil looks oddly at the gem. "Is it supposed to do that?" Valina: Where did I get this anyways? Far too presious and beautiful for my family to afford. Geint closes her eyes and regains normal breathing. Geint flops down on some random person's feet tiredly. Kadan doesn't seem too interested in Valina at the moment. Valina looks at her gem... Valina: It's fading. Tarrant: Hey Geint don't slober on my boots. Valina: It... must have reacted to something... Par: There's nothing out here but us, Valina. Earendil: To what, I wonder. We don't have anything here out of the ordinary. Valina: But... Valina: It must have been something GMRune: The weather is calm and cloudless, but it is not extremely warm or cold. Earendil: Something in the ocean, perhaps? Valina: Or it could be directing us to Caldor. Geint has her eyes closed but isn't asleep yet. Par pets Geint. Valina: This is... strange. Earendil: Try pointing it in different directions. Valina points the gem all the way around, to see if she could get it reacting again. GMRune: Nothing happens to the gem when Valina points it in various direction. The glow is fading. Valina: Well... there is that idea. Valina brings the gem close to Geint. Earendil: We can't be moving away from caldor, if we were, we'd be seeing the Shelldon shoreline rather soon. GMRune: The gem doesn't react to Geint. Geint opens an eye. "Maybe it's something under the sea..." Valina sits... Earendil: Yah, that's what I said before. Earendil: Oh well, we don't have time to go back and investigate. Valina: I wish Agnemark was here... Geint closes her eye. Earendil takes Valina's hand. "Don't worry." Valina: I want to go home! Now! Valina: I want to see the sunrise over the southern mountains. Valina: I want to listen to stories of dragon caves. Valina: I don't want to be on this little boat anymore! Valina: Why can't I be with those who love me? Valina: Why can't I train with McDocmar anymore? Valina cries... GMRune: A light flashes! It bursts from the lavender gem in Valina's hand, enveloping the party and their boat. Surrounded in magical flame the party vanishes! GMRune: ------end session------
