Ayeye falls forward, letting the spear slip from her hands as she hits the ground. Jael looks morosely at the fallen warriors but says nothing. Jael props himself up wearily, blood flowing profusely from an innumerable amount of wounds. His armor hangs in tatters around him and the glow of the warlock symbol on his shoulder flickers faintly, dimming. Jael looks to Earendil but shakes his head wearily. Geint wakes up. Valina: .... GMRune: Geint and Ayeye wake up with 1 hp each. Valina: See... Jael: Yes, you've won. Perhaps you can change the world after all... Earendil mutters, "Stubborn . . . " Ayeye grabs Zara's Spear and uses it to help her stand. Jael lays himself down, breath growing ragged. Arzel wanders over and heals Geint. Rein sparkles off a heal aura on the party. Jael: If I had lived another life... I would know what path to follow. I thank you for that. Jael's eyes close and the light from the symbol on his armor fades. Geint smiles up at Arzel... then her smile fades as she looks at Jael and it turns to a look of concern. GMRune: Geint gains 108 hp. Earendil puts his cloak over Jael's form. "Rest in peace, Jael of House Flysse." Arzel: He's dead now...he's found paradise away from this hell. Valina: ... Par nods solemnly. Valina: ~sniff~ Rein kneels in prayer. Valina cries and falls in Earendil's hands. Ayeye lowers her head. Geint: =( Arzel pulls his hood over his head showing no emotion. Geint sighs lightly. Kadan: I almost envy Jael... for his troubles are over. Earendil holds Valina. "He died with honor protecting what he loved." Arzel: What shall we do with the body? Valina: He didn't have to die... GMRune: BTW, everyone got 92 hp or healed to max from Rein's Heal Aura. Ayeye: Death is no way to solve your problems Kadan... Arzel: Shall I... cremate the body? Or shall we leave it where he fell? Par: Perhaps we should build him a cairn. Earendil: Cremate it Arzel, it would not be right to leave him to scavengers. Geint decides to sit on Arzel's shoulder as she has been lately. Arzel nods to Earendil and walks over to Jael's body. Arzel starts to chant, bringing flames to the body. Par clasps his hands in prayer. Geint just watches without words. Arzel bows his head. Liana: Heh. Arzel glances at Liana. Liana waves a hand and shakes her head. Par looks at her strangely. Earendil: Is something wrong Liana? Geint: ...? Liana shakes her head again. "No, not really. It's just..." She cocks her head to one side. "I didn't think you guys would honor such a warlock." Earendil: He helped us once. Arzel: Jael saw the truth...he just realized it too late. Liana shrugs. "Still, I find it hard to imagine." Kadan: I do not condone his life, but he did help us rescue Par. Arzel: I respect men of honor... even the ones who keep their word to filth. Valina sneaks away. Rein nods. Liana chuckles. "Filth? He was the only filth. Consorting with rebels! Now we know how the warlock escaped!" Arzel: Now... let us not dwell on the past... he's found happyness I'm shure... we must continue . Arzel looks at Liana. Par: .... Liana steps back from the party, towards the Nanza Barrier. Valina sneaks away from the party. Ayeye: What? Liana: Jael failed. Kargeth will not be pleased to know his Commander at one point even aided rebels such as you. Ayeye raises her spear and points it at Liana. Liana smirks at Ayeye. Arzel laughs "I knew it...you are not one of our allies. I thought you finding us was too convenient." Earendil walks over to Valina. "Is something wrong?" Valina: ... Valina: Yea. Valina: I don't want to... do this. Liana: Really? Am I Liana? Or am I a doppleganger of the warlocks? You'll find I possess the same memories, same magicks... Isn't that right, Par? Earendil: Do what? Ayeye: You work for them... Rein glances at Par nervously. Valina: I don't want to kill anyone anymore... this is not the way. Ayeye: Why did you let us get this far? Why not leave when we were captured? Par shakes his head. "I don't know... I don't think Liana's a traitor. But I don't think that girl up there is Liana either." Earendil: But sometimes there is no choice. Valina: ... Then it makes us as bad as Banshee... Geint: ..... Liana winks. "To root out traitorous warlocks of course. Those who would aid you in your time of need. Lord Jera shall soon join her friend Mileria in Kargeth's grasp." Valina cries. Earendil: I know how you feel Val, but I will do what I must to defend myself and my friends, as Jael did. Liana: I admit I should have contained myself, but I can't believe how dispicably you're treating Jael. Arzel hurles a fireball at Liana. Valina: ... He.. ~sniff~ didn't have to die... Liana raises a hand and erects a Magic Barrier. The fireball arcs harmless off of it. Ayeye frowns. "We out number you, do you think that little of us?" Geint: O_o Valina: We... could have talked our way outta this! Earendil suddenly notices the commotion going on. "Hey Val, something's going on with the rest of our group!" Ayeye watches the barrier wide-eyed. "I guess that answers that question..." Liana: Jael did do some damage to you all, I'll grant him that. I think I can handle the rest. Par shakes his head, confused. Valina: Oh... why...? Geint looks back at Par...... Arzel: Par... did you know if the Warlocks did have any dopplegangers? Valina breaks out in tears again... GMRune: ------round 1------ Ayeye takes a combat stance. "As I told Jael, I will get through, even if I have to go through you." GMRune: target: Liana Geint then looks sadly at Valina. I'm not the only one who knows of Jera's betrayel. Rein casts a quick heal aura. Earendil: I don't kill in cold blood, but trying to attack me will give me reason enough. GMRune: Everyone gains 92 hp or up to max. Liana chuckles. Valina: .... What is wrong with me? Liana: So what plans do you have now? You can't keep me with you. Or can you? But... I just don't know. Valina: If we go around killing... we will be as bad as them. Par: What if she's confused, warped like Elanor? Geint bites her bottom lip (lightly because she has fangs). Geint: I.....how can we tell?! Liana cackles in a rather demented fashion. Earendil: Geint, hurry up please! GMRune: Geint casts Smoke Choke on Liana! GMRune: Liana coughs, gags, and keels over on to the ground. Earendil: Now, perhaps we should just leave her and make our escape. Valina: ... Valina: No more blood needs to be shed today. Geint: . . . Arzel: Tie her to a rock... she'll get out sooner or later. Ayeye: If we leave her, she will just get in our way again. Earendil: Ayeye, if you want her dead, you kill her. I will not kill somebody who can't defend herself. Par: Yes, but if she's innocent, we can't just pronounce judgement on her. Valina: Yea... Geint flies over by Arzel. Rein: To kill her without knowing whether she's under a spell or something would be horrible! Ayeye: Do you have a better suggestion? Valina: Let's just get outta here... I am sick of this place already! Geint: ...I wish I knew a way to find out....... Earendil: Let's do what Arzel says, and tie her up. Par nods to Valina. "Enough blood has been shed here." Geint: ...but until then, let her get out of our hair. ~Tarrant conjures up some vines to use as rope. Ayeye sighs and heads toward the barrier. "Fine." Earendil ties her to a rock and makes the knots tight enough that it will take her some time to get out of them. Valina: Liana... I'm sorry I exploded on you... Valina: I hope you can forgive me... I'll do my best to forgive you. Kadan glances back at Liana, but has nothing to say. Valina turns and leaves... Geint sits on Arzel again. Arzel is her buddy. =b Arzel pets Geint and starts to wander towards the barrier. GMRune: The party enters the Nanza Barrier. As you enter the darkness, the wind behind you picks up, lovingly scattering the ashes that remain of the warlock Jael. They will spread over the badlands of Flysse, the land he gave his life to protect. Valina stands by Earendil. Geint smiles and does an odd sort of purr. GMRune: Inside the barrier is darkness. If is difficult to see, although it isn't as bad as your first trip through here. Arzel glows. GMRune: Arzel once again becomes the human torch for your viewing pleasure. Geint wonders why Arzel's glowing...but then decides against wondering further. Kadan: Allow me to guide... Arzel: Ah...human torch time again Valina: Earendil... belive me... I was never this... berserk.. what is wrong with me? GMRune: Kadan casts Night Vision. He can see in darkness! Arzel walks next to Kadan to provide light :P Kadan: Roar... and stuff. Earendil: Nothing is wrong with you, you're just being human. Arzel wonders why Kadan needs night vision while he's glowing. Valina: I... just wanted a normal life... no fighting... nothing but farming. Par: Doesn't Geint know her way through this cave? After all she had to have passed through here in order to meet us that time in Shelladon. Valina: But now it seems my mind is leaving me. Geint just hangs out on Arzel, then realises she's being talked to. "Oh, right." She points out the way. Valina: I used to be normal. GMRune: Geint leads the party through the cave. En route you notice a couple signs pointing to a "gym" of sorts, but you are fairly certain you do not want to return there. Earendil: Don't worry Valina. In these crazy times, we're forced to do things which we wouldn't normally do. Kadan is wary of air bunnies... Earendil keeps far away from the signs. Valina holds on to Earendil. Ayeye walks silently along. GMRune: After a lengthy trip through the mountain range, the party emerges on the other side without incident. Earendil: Val, in all of this, there is only one thing uncertain for me, Elanor. I don't know what I should do about her. Geint crawls inside Arzel's hood and curls up for a nap. Valina: Earendil... I'm afraid... afraid of Banshee... Valina: Now... we are getting close to them again. Par: True... Earendil: I'm afraid I'll tear all of Banshee apart if I find out that they put a spell on Elanor. Arzel: And... there's a good chance that Garreth is around. :P Par: We should skirt around their borders. I don't think we're capable of meeting them head-on. Earendil: Then we won't and we'll do as Par advises. GMRune: The party begins their walk around Banshee's territory. The manors in the distance seem unusually calm and serene. Geint whispers, "I don't like this...." Par: Hopefully they're all in Killith or Flysse right now. Geint wakes up a bit and peers out of Arzel's hood. Par smiles to Geint. Geint: Ok. =) GMRune: After a time, the party passes away from Banshee's stakeholds and reach the road that took you from Vane well over a week ago when House Magus fell beneath Erde's traitorous accusations. Rein looks absently around at the bleak landscape of the Banshee holdings. Geint has gone back to sleeping. Arzel looks towards Vane. Earendil: Do you think it will be safe to stop at Vane? Par: I hope. We certainly could use some supplies... Valina silenty agrees. Kadan: I hope they've made advances in axe-crafting technologies... Par looks down at Kadan. "You might want to turn back to human form before you try purchasing any though." Kadan shrugs with his powerfully protruding shoulder blades. "Eh... maybe you're right." GMRune: Kadan casts Shapeshift. He turns back to human form. Valina: Oh, I'd give anything to be back to my old life again... Valina: The empire never bothered me... until Banshee came. Valina misses the happy days on Caldor. GMRune: After some time... Vane looms idyllicly in the distance. The Crystal Spire looks as though a battle never took place there.
