Something ripples up from below, causing a large pocket of gas to form on the surface. Ruby: ... Arzel: I don't like this... Ruby: Uhh...me neither! GMRune: The sphere of molten rock thins as the air beneath it rises in temperature until finally the bubble bursts, emiting a blinding flash of light! Valina thinks "I knew we should have brought marshmellows." Arzel: And the other side is out of my teleportation range. :/ GMRune: The party finds themselves unable to see for the better part of the next few moments. Ruby is knocked unconcsious. Earendil raises his arm to cover his eyes. Arzel: Can anyone see what's happening? GMRune: After the light vanishes, the magma appears settled. Ruby gets up and blink blinks. Arzel blinks and looks around. Par shakes his head dizzily and rubs his eyes. Valina: ... Arzel: Everyone okay? Earendil: As soon as I can see again. Valina: Yea... Camille: ... I... I think so. What _was_ that anyway? Earendil: Geint, what in Althena's name was that? Ruby: Eh. I donno. Arzel whispers: "I thought her name was Ruby." O_o Earendil: Doh! Tarrant's eyes are still sensitive and it takes a few minutes for his sight to return. Camille looks strangely at Earendil. Ruby flies to Earendil's shoulder. "Humm... excuse him. He doesn't even know my name from a dragon's. =b" Camille: That dense, huh. Earendil: Sorry RUBY, I think the light messed with my mind a little bit. Ruby hmmphs and shrugs quite lethargically. Valina: Ru...by..? Arzel: Next thing he'll be thinking he's a Dragonmaster. *laughs* Camille chuckles drily. Camille: Well, we'd better keep on going. I don't think we should hang around this lava any longer than necessary. Earendil shoots Arzel a "shut-up" type look. Arzel smiles and blinks innocently at Earendil. Geint: I most certainly agree by all means. Arzel: Yes...we should be going. Ruby nods slowly. GMRune: The party wraps around the ledge surrounding the pool of magma to the passage continuing on the other side. The heat diminishes somewhat as you enter the cooler corridor. Ruby has a very serious look on her face. Ruby looks around curiously. Ghaleon: You feeling okay, little... air bunny? Ruby: ... I'm fine, Ghaleon. Quite alright. Ghaleon nods brightly. Earendil whispers to Ruby, "The cave isn't changing like Canth's is it?" Ruby shrugs lethargically. "Don't believe so. Does it look like it? =b" GMRune: A slight tremor shakes the earth and the cavern floor in front of you lowers a bit. Earendil: Yes. Ruby yawns. Tarrant: I don't like the feel of this place.. Valina: ... I dont like this. Earendil: Let's keep going. After you, Ruby. GMRune: The earth rumbles further ahead and the tunnel shakes again. Bits of rubble fall down from the ceiling. Ruby mutters. "Hmmph. What's so wrong with it? ...Just a dumb old cave.." Rein: Well, I'd expect a little seismic activity in a volcano... Arzel walks along unhappily because of the cooler air. Ruby glares around looking very bored and uncarring. Par pats Ruby on the head. "We're almost there, Ruby. Just a little farther now, right?" Ruby mutters to herself and says. "Yea...yea......." Ruby ignores everyone for the most part. Valina: Yeah, Rein... seismic activity is what makes the world go aroud... Rein sighs. GMRune: The cavern jolts suddenly, heaving the party off balance just as you reach the next staircase down. Rein, Valina, and Ghaleon tumble down the stairs! Valina: OUCH! Rein bounces. Ruby doesn't seem to notice!! O_o Earendil rushes down the staircase. "Valina, hold on!" GMRune: After the quake, the stairs are fairly ruined, making the descent more of a climb rather than a walk. Tarrant somehow keeps his balance. Must be this locket... Valina: Argh... Ghaleon grumbles from down at the bottom. Valina falls flat on her face. Rein sprawls at the foot of the stairs Ruby: Humm.... now the stairs are wrecked...pity... Ghaleon mutters something from under Rein. GMRune: Earendil reaches Valina without much trouble. Arzel starts to climb down. Earendil: Are you okay? Ruby flies off of Earendil. Camille sighs and carefuly winds her way down. Valina: Yea... I've felt worse. Rein helps Ghaleon up. Ghaleon: Thanks, Rein... Rein: Who put stairs in a volcano anyway? Camille shrugs. "The dragon?" Valina: We may never know. Arzel: The dragon maybe? Ruby sits on Ayeye. Ayeye looks to Ruby. "Why would the dragon pick such an unstable home?" Ruby shrugs. "Ehh." Valina: Does a dragon really need stairs? Ruby looks in her backpack. Ayeye: Be careful, the bush bites. Ruby looks at the bush. "How cute." GMRune: The first chamber of the sixth basement level is wide and elliptical in shape. There is a large archway on the other side of the room, leading to a second room; that one glowing with a brilliant red glow. The bush growls lowly. Earendil: That must be the dragon's lair. The bush yips and snaps at Ruby. Tarrant: Hmm what a pretty light ahead.. Ruby smiles at the bush. "Is it purring?" The bush rustles madly at Ruby. Arzel: I don't think so, Geint. Ruby speaks in a polite tone to the bush. "Bitty you have to be squished into such a small backpack..." Ayeye smirks. "Not quite, I don't think it likes competition..." Arzel: G'ah...the heat's gotten to me...now I'm calling it Geint. O_o Ruby: Must be making it upset in this heat... The bush sticks its tongue out at Geint. BLEEEEEH! =P Ruby grins at the bush. "Oh how could I compete with one so much cuter than myself. =)" The bush sneezes and settles deeper into Ayeye's backpack. It roots up some of Ayeye's withered leaves and hides under them. Ruby looks with an exaggeratedly confused face. "Huh. wonder what got into the ambush.." Ruby flies from off of Ayeye. Ruby sits on Tarrant's shoulder. Tarrant nods to Ruby. "Hi." Earendil: Enough with the bush, let's just go see the "dragon." The bush pokes its top half up an inch or two as Geint leaves. Valina: ... Yea. Camille: Good idea. I think I'm getting a bit queasy in here. Ruby nods. "Thought you'd never ask....*sigh*......this is so dull.." Ruby looks around bored. Tarrant: Here take this Geint... It is a rose cookie. Ruby illks. "Uhh...no thanks....not hungry..." GMRune: The party enters the second chamber and are confronted with a massive sea of magma. Extending over the molten currents is a small peninsula leading up a large platform, presumably the dragon's sleeping place. Earendil: Hmm, some like it hot . . . Ruby pants. "Gaahh...... sure is hot... I can barely take it." Ruby sweats. Ghaleon: ? Arzel: This is more like it. :) Earendil gives Ruby the "OH PLEASE!" look. Ruby/Geint: Hmm... oh well. Guess I'll say it. Geint: I'm the red dragon. Geint: Yup. Camille archs an eyebrow. Geint: And he's the dragonmaster. Not like we hid it well. Geint shrugs. Geint: Yea. See his hat? *points* From Canth. Valina: So.. Geint... this is your home? It's.. homey? Earendil: :Þ Geint yawns. Camille looks curiously at Earendil's helmet. "It's an ugly red helmet. So?" Earendil: Camille, you don't seem to believe us. Valina: At least you dont have to worry about heating.. Geint gets off Tarrant's shoulder. "You mean to say with all of the lousy job they did at hiding it you couldn't figure it out!?!!?! You're kidding!!" Geint hummps! Rein: Must be hard to keep maids around, though... Camille: All I see is a funny pinkish air bunny. And you expect me to believe _that's_ the red dragon? Valina: Yea... but I'm sure magma is great for trash removal. Earendil: Geint, can you do something to prove yourself? Geint shrugs. "Stuff happens. Bet you wouldn't believe that guy was picked as a Dragonmaster. I don't know why myself. ;b" Arzel: Camille, don't beleive us if you don't want to, but you're not gonna find the red dragon here. Rein: Well, yes, to a certain point. I'd imagine, however, that one wouldn't want to go turning the place into a dumping ground... Camille glances to Geint. "Okay, so *you're* the red dragon. How is something as small as you supposed to protect people?" Geint hmphs a bit and looks very bored. "Maybe I don't want to give my shield to such a whiny, unworthy, Dragonmaster...huh? =b" Geint's eyes are cold.. Earendil: Geint? Ghaleon: Er.... you okay... little dragon...? Tarrant: You could give it to me, Geint... Geint flies around ranting. "Maybe I don't feel like taking the energy to turn into my larger form for you, Earendil...or any of you!!" Par: I don't think this is the time for jokes, Tarrant. Earendil: I thought you picked me out. Geint glares at the group. Tarrant psssttt to Earendil.. "Then I'll give it to you." *wink* Ghaleon: Little dragon... I thought you were happy to show me your lair... Earendil looks up at Geint. "What in Althena's name is wrong with you? You are not the Geint we all know." Geint smiles wickedly at Earendil. Valina stands beside Earendil. Camille frowns. "Great. I come all this way looking for a red dragon, and this is what I get!" Geint: That is because..... Geint: I'm NOT! Earendil yells loudly, "WHAT?!" Rein looks around perplexedly as if he wishes everyone would just stop. Ayeye: Err...what? Geint attacks the party!! GMRune: The fake Geint glows a brilliant scarlet and enlarges to the size of a large horse. GMRune: ------round 1------- Earendil: Geint?! Arzel: Oh goodie. O_o Geint: >=D Rein: Somebody protect the bush! Earendil goes for his sword, but hesitates. The bush blehs at Rein. Ayeye shrugs. "I should have guessed, the real Geint would have never said the bush was cute." Arzel: The real Geint must've been taken away in that flash. O_o GMRune: Ayeye attacks Geint! GMRune: attack 1: *critical* 44 damage GMRune: attack 2: 1 damage GMRune: Kadan attacks Geint! Geint growls. Earendil grips his sword hilt and slowly pulls it out, "I just hope you're right Arzel. I couldn't live with myself if we found out that this is really Geint." GMRune: attack 1: 133 damage GMRune: attack 2: 163 damage Geint growls again. "GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..." GMRune: Valina concentrates and hurls a blade of air pressure at Geint! Geint braces herself! GMRune: 24 damage! Arzel: Earendil, would the real Geint do this to us? Earendil: If she were under some kind of control. GMRune: Earendil lifts the Ice Ring and casts Ice Dagger! GMRune: Geint has critical weakness to ice magic! 61 damage! GMRune: Rein casts Fusion Litany on Geint! Earendil: If that really is you, forgive me. GMRune: It fails! Rein: Didn't think so, but it was worth a shot.. GMRune: Camille plays her flute and blasts Geint with song magic! GMRune: 45 damage! Geint growls louder now.... GMRune: Geint's form blurs and she rolls into a dive as she strikes the back row with her claws! Geint says humourusly and sarcastically, "Yaahaa." Tarrant: That's the last time I offer you a cookie, sister. Geint grins in a twisted manner and chuckles wickedly. GMRune: Rein is hit for 135 damage and is knocked unconscious! Par is hit for 168 damage and knocked unconscious! Tarrant is hit for 39 damage! Ghaleon is hit for 202 damge and knocked unconscious! Rein slides and skids to a stop right before his limp body reaches the magma. Geint GRINZ! GMRune: Arzel attacks Geint! Earendil: Okay, I'm convinced now. YOU ARE NOT GEINT! GMRune: attack 1: 20 damage Geint smirks. GMRune: attack 2: *critical* 57 damage GMRune: Par is unconscious. GMRune: Tarrant conjures up a vine to strike Geint! GMRune: 160 damage! GMRune: Ghaleon is unconscious. GMRune: --round 2----- Geint growls again. GMRune: Ayeye attacks Geint! GMRune: attack 1: *critical* 44 damage Geint grins again....She must have a trick up her sleeve...err....bunny..stockings? =b GMRune: attack 2: *critical* 43 damage Tarrant: Go, Ayeye. GMRune: Kadan attacks Geint! GMRune: attack 1: 151 damage GMRune: attack 2: 131 damage Geint looks hurt... but smiles every so subtly as Kadan attacks....... Ayeye: I bet Geint's enjoying this, where ever she is. GMRune: Earendil's form blurs as he strikes Geint! GMRune: 117 damage! GMRune: Valina attacks Geint! GMRune: 33 damage! GMRune: Camille attacks Geint with her sword! GMRune: 48 damage! GMRune: Geint casts Nervous Impulse on Kadan! Geint grins sadistically!! GMRune: Kadan is dazed! GMRune: attack 2: 18 damage GMRune: Tarrant conjures up a vine to attack Geint! GMRune: 147 damage! GMRune: -----round 3------ Camille: Dammit! This dragon's gone insane! GMRune: Ayeye attacks Geint! GMRune: attack 1: *critical* 48 damage GMRune: attack 2: *critical* 43 damage Ayeye mumbles, "It didn't have far to go..." Rein bleeds. GMRune: Kadan dances around in a circle. He appears to be trying to foxtrot. GMRune: Earendil blurs and strikes the false Geint with his sword! Geint hmmphs. "Maybe dazing him wasn't a good idea. =b" GMRune: 116 damage! GMRune: Valina attacks Geint! GMRune: 35 damage! GMRune: Camille attacks Geint! GMRune: 42 damage! GMRune: Arzel glows with a brilliant white light which he launches at Geint! GMRune: 67 damage! GMRune: attack 2: *critical* 38 damage Ayeye: Naw, your just too slow. Geint grumbles and stares at the first row with a smirk... GMRune: Kadan attacks Valina! GMRune: attack 1: 101 damage! GMRune: Valina is knocked out. Geint smirks lightly and snickers softly. "Heh heh heh....." GMRune: Kadan moves on to Rein and jumps up and down on his unconscious form, inflicting more damage (which isn't really felt though). Geint sighs. Rein: (Kadan hears a voice in his head) Don't think I won't remember this! GMRune: Earendil casts Quickcut and slashes his way through the fake Geint! Geint growls at Earendil........... Earendil grips his sword more tightly. "DAMN YOU! If this is a test for me, attack me! Not Valina or the rest of my friends." GMRune: 117 damage! GMRune: Camille attacks Geint! GMRune: 50 damage! Arzel mumbles, "Well except Tar who you can't hurt anyway." Geint narrows her eyes and grins.... GMRune: Geint counterattacks! GMRune: 85 damage! Geint: Wheeeeeeeeee! GMRune: Geint whirls into a dive and slashes through the front row! Geint refrains from a second "Yaaahaaaa". GMRune: Ayeye is hit for 181 damage and knocked out. Kadan is hit for 73 damage. Earendil is hit for 70 damage. Camille is hit for 117 damage and knocked out. Arzel is hit for 133 damage and knocked out. Rein has strange dreams of bowling. GMRune: Tarrant hits Geint with his vine flail for 186 damage! GMRune: ----round 5------ Geint cackles insanely!!!!! Tarrant: Bring it on you overgrown air bunny. GMRune: Kadan is no longer dazed. GMRune: Kadan attacks Geint! GMRune: attack 1: 165 damage GMRune: attack 2: 144 damage Geint looks to Earendil. "You want me to fight you? Alright...." GMRune: Earendil attacks Geint! GMRune: attack 1: 148 damage GMRune: attack 2: 127 damage GMRune: Earendil attacks Geint! GMRune: 101 damage! GMRune: Geint casts Smoke Choke on Kadan! GMRune: Kadan clutches his throat in agony and keels over! GMRune: Tarrant hurls a vine flail at Geint! GMRune: 160 damage! GMRune: The fake Geint dies! GMRune: ------victory!------ GMRune: The unconscious party members revive with 1 hp apiece. Geint: Gaaah! Earendil looks around that the devistated group. "Hold on guys, I'll fix you all up." GMRune: The party gains 226 XP, 183 MEXP, and 0 S. GMRune: The fake Geint's body disappears in a flash of light, leaving you alone in the room. Rein rolls around dangerously close to the magma pool... Earendil closes his eyes and holds his sword up high. A blue aura starts glowing around him getting brighter and brighter. Suddenly his opens his eyes and shouts out, "Blue Dragon Heal!" GMRune: Entire party is healed to full hp! Tarrant surveys the situation... Rein sits up and edges away from the magma. Ayeye sits up and shakes her head. "...she cheated..." Geint flaps slowly in. "Heh....miss me? ;)" Earendil brings his sword down. "Wow . . ." Par groans. Tarrant helps Kadan up. "I guess we know who the real men are.." Geint flaps in front of the group, onto the place where her actual lair is. Camille takes one look at Geint and skitters away from her. Camille: What was the meaning of all that! Geint: You passed! You guys know me!! You can tell the difference between me and some fake! Par: Uh... Passed? My head still throbs... Geint: That.....was a test, dear. Sorry about the bloodbath. =b It was a test of our friendship...... and strength. Ayeye looks at the floor. "It helps when you tell us you're a fake..." Earendil: Don't you ever do that again! Geint: It was to see if you could figure out if I was a fake! Camille makes a wry face. Geint: And I would never dream of it, Earendil. =) ... Geint: ......and it wasn't for nothing...... Ayeye: Yeah, but you had to tell us, we didn't pass very well... Earendil: If you weren't my friend, I'd wring your neck for that. Geint: I did not! Earendil commented that I was not the Geint he knew. Geint: And that proved that he knew me...... a Dragonmaster must have a connection with at least one dragon..... and I am honored that that dragon be me. Geint smiles. Geint lands in the middle of her lair. Ghaleon is happy for Geint, but wishes the test had been a little less painful... Earendil blushes for a second, "Well, to tell you the truth, I wasn't completely convinced until your double knocked out half the group. I knew your would never do that." Geint snickers. "But you knew well enough..... and you would have figured it out soon enough the way you were going...... I'm certain." Ayeye: Really, when she said she was a fake, it seemed to make sense. She was being to nice... Earendil: I was kind of suspicious when you started acting apathetic. Geint makes a slight grin at Ayeye. "Hah." Geint: Well........ back up, everyone! Arzel walks over and leans against the wall, not really caring about the conversation. Geint: You HAVE won...... and it's time to claim the prize! Now comes the cool part! Rein: What now? Rein: We'll take what's in the box! No wait.. Door #2! No... hmm... Geint signals "Wait a sec" and seems to be in a slight meditation for a second. Tarrant: Cool part?... I hope it is the room with AC. Arzel: Can't handle the heat Tar? You worked in a kitchen. :P Geint then jumps up into the air. A blinding red flash comes and goes, and as it fades, a huge dragon with long ears looks down at the group. Earendil stands back in awe. Ayeye: Wow...a giant air Bunny... Ghaleon: Big dragon! Rein: Is that really you!? Cool! Geint eyes Ayeye and snickers slightly. The room quivers as she does so. Tarrant: You're darn tootin' I worked in a kitchen... But I have never worked inside an oven until today.. Camille: Well I'll be. The little thing really _is_ the red dragon. Geint nods. "You bet, Cammy!" Geint lowers her head so she's a bit more at their level. "Alright....I suppose it's time for the shield, huh?" Arzel snorts. Earendil comes back to reality. "Yes, lead the way." Geint raises a paw, and in it is the Red Dragon Shield, which she places before Earendil. Arzel puts his hood over his head again and stands silently against the wall. Earendil takes off his old shield and puts his arm in the Red Dragon Shield. Geint raises her mammoth head back up again.... then looks at everyone else.. GMRune: Earendil acquires Red Dragon Shield. He learns Red Dragon Anger. Earendil can feel the power of the Red Dragon flowing into him. Earendil: Thank you Geint, I will use this power as best as I can. Geint nods and smiles, her fangs showing a bit. GMRune: The chamber rumbles slightly, knocking a couple bits of gravel down from the ceiling. Geint looks to the rest of the group. "Oh geez, too bad it isn't a dragon's job to reward you guys.... =b" Geint sighs. Rein: Hey Geint.. as long as you're like that.. do you think you could breathe some huge gouts of flame or something? It's just we've been waiting to see this for quite a while Ghaleon: Breath a giant flame, big dragon! Geint snickers again, making the lair rumble again. Camille glances at Ghaleon, slightly irked. Rein hands a Geint pennant to Ghaleon. Ghaleon waves it around widely, taking care not to singe it on anything. Geint: But that would be immature and dangerous! ........But then again so was the test I gave you... hee hee! Geint: ...Maybe a little gust if you really want to see it... Ghaleon noddles eagerly. Rein does likewise. Geint raises her head high and puts her shoulders slightly back. She then arches herself slightly and shoots a gust of flame in the opposite direction of where everyone is standing. Geint: *PPPPHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPHHHHHHHHHH* Ghaleon laughs gleefully. Rein: YAAAY! Geint blink blinks a few times, then looks back in everyone's direction. Par shakes his head. Par: Look, now that we have the Red Dragon Shield, we should be going. T'lain Spire is not far from here... and I think it's about time that we get Leon over to him. Rein holds up a palm to give Geint high-five. Earendil looks over the magma at nothing in particular and doesn't even notice Geint's flame. The closer he comes to being a Dragonmaster, the heavier the yoke of responsibility hangs on him. Geint then goes to look at Camille... Camille gazes up at Geint. "Yes?" Geint lowers her head a bit to talk and says. "You see why I can't help you? Why I can't protect you? The dragons have too much to do already, and if there's anyone to ask it's the dragonmaster to be. ;)" Geint realizes she left Rein hanging and lightly slaps him five. Arzel snorts again, and starts to walk around. Rein: Yesss..... Camille glances off to one side. "I suppose... But a Dragonmaster is only a man, so far as I know. Perhaps I will stay with you all a little longer... so that I'll get to understand him better." Rein snickers then stops and looks serious as he sees the nonplussed look on the other party members' faces. Geint: And now I have to go to portible size... heh... that is if the party even wants me around after what I did. =b Geint sighs. Par: You're always welcome with us, Geint. Geint changes back into air bunny mode with another red flash. Ghaleon pats Geint on the head. Geint flies over wearily.. Rein: Everyone makes mistakes, neh? Earendil comes back from his silent meditation. "If everybody is ready, shall we go?" Arzel remains silent. Par: I'm ready. It really is about time we left. Ayeye: Yes, let's get going. Geint: ... Ghaleon hugs Geint reassuringly. Geint looks at Arzel who seems very miffed. =b GMRune: The party heads out of Geint's cave. There are no further monster encounters as on your way in, and the air becomes progressively cooler and clearer as you go up. At last you reach the river of magma on the first level. Camille's bridge of harden's lava just barely remains intact. Par: One of these days we should learn how to transfer ourselves out of dungeons.... Arzel concentrates for a moment, then starts to fade from existance. Arzel reappears on the other side of the river. Geint: O_o Earendil stares surprisingly at Arzel. "Arzel, when did you learn that?" Arzel: I've been practicing quite a bit, from the book I got from the sage, and Jael's help. :) Tarrant thinks to himself... "Is Arzel a better magician than myself..." Geint: Cool. Par smiles. "You must have been practicing a lot. I haven't been allowed to even touch teleportation magic at this point." Earendil: Can you help the rest of us out? Arzel: I'm not shure Earendil... I've never tried to teleport other people. Camille: If he can't, I can refreeze the magma again. Arzel: I can try... anyone wanna volunteer? Ayeye: I'll volunteer! It looks like fun. Arzel: Hmm... okay. Earendil: No, let me take the risk. I brought it up in the first place. Geint snickers. Arzel: Hmm... well I don't wanna be the one responsible for teleporting the dragonmaster into a wall or something. O_o Ayeye: Why? Ayeye: Yeah, you're too important. I'm not important, so if he blows it, it's alright. Par: Um... I don't really think you're any less important, Ayeye. Arzel: Well... that's not true Ayeye... everyone's important. Earendil: I just don't want something to happen to someone because of one of my ideas. Ayeye: I asked for it. Don't worry. Arzel: Hmmm... well I should be able to do it... the magic's almost the same. Rein: If we're really that worried about it, maybe we should just use the frozen bridge... Earendil: Alright then, Ayeye. Ayeye turns to face Rein. "Don't you have a sense of adventure?" Par sighs. Arzel: Well Rein... I need to practice... or else I'll be useless in the future. Arzel: Okay... here it goes. GMRune: Arzel raises a hand and gestures. Ayeye fades out of existence from the other side of the river. GMRune: Ayeye does not reappear on the other side. Geint: O_o Geint: Uh oh.... Earendil: Dammit, I knew I should've gone. Tarrant doesn't trust others' magic and decides to take the bridge... Arzel: What? Uhh... why didn't that work? Rein: Now let's not jump to conclusions... Earendil: Where did she go? Arzel starts to concentrate, trying to find where Ayeye is. GMRune: Arzel cannot seem to find Ayeye. Arzel: Hmm... I have an idea. Arzel: You guys work on that bridge... I'll be back. Rein: Maybe it just takes some time... Arzel runs to the exit of the cave. Geint gulps. "Oh well... Arzel will find her. He's a good mage..." Earendil: I hope to Althena she's alright. Rein nods hopefully. Arzel plays with the stoney things once he gets outside. GMRune: Arzel makes it to the exit of the cave. GMRune: Arzel gains full mp! Arzel tries to locate Ayeye again useing the magic from the stones. GMRune: Arzel cannot find Ayeye. Rein: Tarrant, isn't that sorta risky, Arzel channeling all that power? Arzel curses. Camille plays her flute and freezes the magma so that the party can cross safety. Earendil: Maybe we should lend him our power as well. Arzel looks around outside, wondering if he teleported her somewhere outside. Tarrant: Well I guess he hasn't got the real stones to cast spells without them... Arzel yells, "Ayeye? Are you out here?" GMRune: Arzel still cannot locate Ayeye. Arzel walks back into the cave to find the others. GMRune: The rest of the party has crossed the bridge of hardened magma by now. Arzel: Umm... I think we should go visit the sage... I think he'll be able to find her. Par: If anyone who's willing to help us can, he's probably the one. Arzel: Well, let's get going... I'm not giving up. Arzel sighs. Earendil: I won't either. It was my idea that got her into this. Arzel: I don't understand it... I can't even teleport myself farther than a city block... Geint: Maybe something's interfering... Arzel starts towards the tower. GMRune: The party follows Arzel out of the cave. Rising to the east is T'lain's ivory spire. And likely still sitting in the narrow strait would be the massive turtle. GMRune: The party arrives at the strait. The moss- covered green turtle is still snoozing in the middle of it, making slight waves with every breath it takes. Arzel climbs onto the turtle. GMRune: The turtle snores slightly, but Arzel makes it on a-okay. Arzel: Okay...now how to we turn it on? GMRune: The turtle is close enough to the other shore that it's possible to jump around to it using the turtle as a stepping stone. Earendil hops over to the other shore. Arzel hops off the turtle onto the shore. Arzel starts towards the tower, without waiting to see if the others are following. GMRune: The party crosses over to the side with T'lain's Spire and enter the rows of hedges surrounding his tower. GMRune: The door to his tower hangs weakly off of one hinge. Arzel enters the tower. Earendil rushes up into the tower. GMRune: The party enters inside. The floor has been wrecked in a couple areas, and some of T'lain's guard monsters are busy sweeping up the mess. Arzel: Umm... what happened? Earendil yells out, "T'lain, are you here?" Monster: Leftover wreckage from warlocks. GMRune: A pair of emerald eyes gleam and a large saber- toothed cat appears. Arzel: Is T'lain okay? Arzel: Ohh... there's that cat again. The cat rumbles quietly and looks expectantly at the party. Arzel looks at the cat. "Where's T'lain?" The cat eyes Arzel and then turns to head down to the previously sealed off lower level. Earendil: Follow? The cat rumbles something that must be a purr. Rein hops after the cat. The cat disappears down the stairs with long easy steps. Earendil follows the cat. Arzel goes to were the cat is. The cat leads the party through a small maze to a dead end. Its emerald eyes gleam brightly and the wall disolves to reveal a small passageway. GMRune: There is a simple wooden door at its far end. Earendil goes forward and opens the door. Arzel walks up, and opens the door. GMRune: The door swings open to reveal a small bedroom, lit by a single candle. In a small bed lies T'lain. His face is pale and he does not move. The cat yowls plaintively to the party. Arzel: G'ah. GMRune: ----end session------
