Arzel: Ohh...fun. :/ Geint looks back at the mages. GMRune: Arzel is hit for 1 damage! Par is hit for 11 damage! Tarrant is hit for 1 damage! Geint whews again. Arzel laughs. Earendil: You guys should lend the rest of us some of that resistence. Tarrant looks at Arzel. "Now you know how I feel on every attack" GMRune: Earendil calls down a massive bolt of thunder on Elemental #1! Ayeye uses the corridor wall to slowly pull herself to a standing position. Valina jumps! Valina: Ouch... GMRune: The party earns 392 XP, 266 MEXP, and 55 S. GMRune: Ghaleon gets back up with 1 hp. Arzel: Wow... I'm not hurt. ^_^ Earendil wipes the sweat from is brow and places his sword back in its sheath. Valina then falls down, 'cause I am so hurt. Earendil goes over to help Valina up. Rein pulls himself up and prepares a heal aura. Valina: Thanks Ear. Tarrant: Anyone that needs healed get next to me... Geint looks around frightened and distracted. "Canth had better be alright....... =(" Rein casts it off once everyone is pressed around within range. Earendil: I'll survive. Geint flies over to Rein. Arzel is only missing 1 hp. O_o Ayeye continues using the wall for support. "How...far?" GMRune: Rein casts Heal Aura over the party! GMRune: Ayeye gains 22 hp and is at max. Kadan gains 58 hp. Valina gains 58 hp. Rein gains 58 hp. Geint gains 58 hp. Earendil gains 58 hp. Arzel gains 1 hp and is at max. Par gains 15 hp and is at max. Tarrant gains 8 hp and is at max. Ghaleon gains 58 hp. Geint flies over to Arzel because he's bright. Arzel: Hi Geint. :) Geint: Hi Arzel..... Geint looks for her stick. GMRune: Geint finds her stick lying on the ground. Geint re-lights it and hands it to a human. =b Valina takes the stick. GMRune: The passage continues both forward and behind you. Even after the monsters' defeat, there is no sign of the entrance you came through. Geint sighs..... Geint: C'mon..... I wanna find Canth.... Tarrant: Anyone still need more HP? Geint: I'm fine. Earendil: Well, lead on the best you can Geint. Geint sniffles. "I have a bad bad feeling..." Valina: I'm feeling OK, but I could be better . Geint flies around, leading as best she can. Geint: . . . . . GMRune: Geint flies on ahead. After a short trip down the passage way, you come to a place where the path continues to the right, and there is a stairwell to your left. There's a pool of water lying on the cavern floor near the stairs. Ayeye walks unsteadily behind the party. Geint looks around. Earendil: Left I suppose, to make Kadan happy. Geint: Hmmmm....... Valina is thirsty... but not thirsty enought to drink that water. Geint: I guess............ I don't know where to go! Everything's changed! GMRune: The water looks crystal clear. Of course, there are little blind fish swimming through it too... Geint makes a cute but very sad face. Ayeye sits down against a wall to rest. Valina thinks. Earendil pokes his sword into the water. "It could be healing water." Valina: Or poison. Geint ignores the water and continues on to try and find Canth. GMRune: The fish scatter away from Earendil's sword. Valina decides to take a sip anyway... being prepared to spit if necessary. Rein: Well, it's not poisonous to the fish.. GMRune: Valina doesn't seem to be sick after taking a drink from the water. Ayeye closes her eyes, rests her head against her arms, and mumbles, "We're stuck, aren't we?" Earendil: Well, my little dragon friend? GMRune: Geint is flying onward past the stairwell. Arzel follows Geint. Earendil follows after Geint. Ayeye gets up and slowly follows Geint. Valina follows feeling fine. GMRune: The party turns right and follows after Geint. After a short trip the party runs into a dead end. There is a treasure chest there though. Geint nervously heads down, not noticing whoever is following. Geint flies back. Arzel opens the chest. GMRune: Arzel finds a Starlight inside the chest. Arzel: Yay! Geint takes the stairs when she gets back. (If they're still there.) Tarrant uses a Starlight on himself. Arzel follows after Geint. GMRune: Tarrant gains 20 MP. GMRune: Yes, the stairs are miraculously (or maybe not) still there when Geint gets back to them. GMRune: The party descends to the next level down. GMRune: The party finds that the path splits to the left and the right just beyond the stairwell. The left tunnel is waterlogged, being at least a foot deep in water. Geint searches here and there..... hoping to find something more familiar. GMRune: Geint doesn't see anything familar. Geint looks back at the group. "Mind if I go the watter way?" Geint: ...I......have to find Canth.... Earendil: Do what you want, none of us know the way either. Geint goes the way she wanted. GMRune: Geint leads the party through the waterlogged route. The water is icy cold to the touch, and chills you to the point where you start to loose the feeling in your feet. Arzel looks wearily at the water. Par doesn't looked very pleased at having to splash through water, but follows after Geint. Arzel: It's c...c...cold. Ayeye stares at the water. "How deep is it?" Earendil: A little cold never hurt anyone. Tarrant: Hey Geint, why did you take us to the wet side? Geint: Because..... I have a feeling....... And I didn't think you guys would follow me! =b GMRune: The water deepens past your knees as you continue along. Ayeye trudges uncertainly and unsteadily after the party. Arzel: Uhh...I don't like this. :/ Arzel tries to keep his robe as dry as possible. The bush looks down, pants, and scuttles back into Ayeye's backpack. Geint wonders if she could possibly heat the water with a fire spell.... Tarrant slips and is soaked. Earendil: Everybody, wait. Let Geint fly ahead to see how far the water rises. Arzel helps Tar up. Par: G... good idea... Geint looks back and nods. Geint flies ahead. Ayeye looks for someplace dry to rest. Tarrant: Thanks... Valina looks at the water... Tarrant spits out the blind cave tetra that is in his mouth. GMRune: There is a ledge to the side of the passage that might be possible to use as a seat. Tarrant: Icky... Ayeye moves over to the ledge and sits down. Rein hauls himself up on the ledge and freezes. Ghaleon makes little circles in the water with his sword while he waits for Geint. Arzel decides that cold is bad and trys to fit on the ledge as well as possible. Ghaleon tries fitting on the ledge too. Now there isn't any more room up there. Geint shouts "Hey Guys!!! It isn't that bad! It gets deeper and then gets less!" Geint: *Shout* Can you hear me? Earendil: I'm here, but the rest of the group is slowly freezing into popsicles! Tarrant: Well.. First off can everyone swim? Valina: Sure... Ghaleon: I don't wanna swim through that stuff! It's cold! Ayeye sighs, and takes a deep breath. "Do we have to go on?" Arzel: I can swim... Earendil: Provided the water isn't rushing like a certain stream outside of a certain cave. Geint shouts again. "Uhhmmmm..... Can anyone hear me????? Ayeye looks down at the water. "I...I don't think I have the energy left to swim..." Earendil shouts, "Yes, we can hear you, now get back over here!" GMRune: You guys wait a while, yet Geint still does not return. Rein: Well, as long as we've other ways to go left, why risk it? Valina puts on her swimming gear... which is what she was wearing anyways. :P Ghaleon: Little dragon! Where are you? Earendil: I'm going to go up ahead to find Geint, the rest of you wait here. Valina: I'll go with you. Earendil: You sure you can make it? Arzel: I'll go with you, Ear...you may need some magic. :) Par sighs. "Why don't we all just go. No use in loosing any more people... although Geint really isn't a person." Tarrant: I agree with Par... Lets get it over with now. Arzel nods. Earendil starts wading ahead through the water. Ayeye becomes worried. "I don't know if I can swim through it..." GMRune: The party continues and the water gets deeper, at its worst point reaching up to three feet in depth. GMRune: As you progress you pass by a familiar landmark on an otherwise unfamiliar path. It is the stone mural of four heroes leading an army. One of them wields a strange staff entwined with a serpent as they stand before an arcane gateway. Just behind them floats a glowing figure that could only be of Althena. Earendil looks at the mural. "I hope Althena will bestow a blessing on us." Tarrant: Could that be the famed serpent staff? Rein: I guess Geint meant "deep" in a relative way. ;\ Ayeye uses Kadan for support as she goes through the water. GMRune: After a bit more walking, you come up out of the water and see a stairwell leading downward again. Earendil shouts, "Hey Geint, where are you?" GMRune: There is no answer. Rein: It's not like Geint to run off like this.. oh wait... actually it IS like her... Par sighs and leans on his cane. Earendil looks down the stairs. "Farther and farther down we go. At this rate, we'll wind up in Hades." Arzel: Hades isn't a fun place...trust me. :) GMRune: The party heads down the stairs and arrives at the third basement level. You see there's an unopened treasure chest lying in the path before it continues onward. Tarrant opens the treasure chest. GMRune: Tarrant finds a Jasmine inside. Rein eyes the chest.. "This looks a bit suspicious..." Tarrant: Anyone need a Jasmine? Arzel: No. Rein checks around for anything else in the chest. GMRune: There is nothing else in the chest. Tarrant: Okay then... I'll take it. Valina: Humm... Rein: Hmm.. well, I guess sometimes we just get lucky. Earendil keeps going downward. Valina follows Ear. GMRune: The rest of the path on this level is fairly straightforward. It finally ends with two different stairwells on either side of you. One is two the left and the other to the right. An eerie moaning sound is rising up from below, bu you can't tell which one it's coming from. Valina: Ohh great. Earendil chomps on a starlight before continuing. Tarrant uses one too... GMRune: Earendil gains 20 MP. Tarrant gains 20 MP. Valina stays next to Ear. Rein takes another starlight just for the rush. GMRune: Rein uses a starlight and gains 20 MP! Kadan carefully examines the area. Kadan motions towards the left stairwell. "I think this might be the way. I feel a breeze." Valina wonders if we should really trust Kadan. Par: So... the left? Arzel nods. Arzel: Even though the last time we trusted Kadan's judgement we fell down a trap. GMRune: The party heads down the left stairwell. As they do, the moaning sound begins to increase. Earendil: Kadan has to be right sooner or later. Ayeye continues using Kadan as a support as they go down the stairs. GMRune: You see a large network of tunnels on the fourh basement level; some heading left, some right, crisscrossing over each other several times every hundred yards. Kadan cocks his head slightly to hear the moaning sound, not recognizing it as any beast he has encountered. Earendil: Oh great, now which way do we go? Ayeye: This...doesn't...look...good... Arzel: Uhh...left's worked so far. Par: Which left though...? Earendil: Kadan, perhaps that hearing of yours can lead us to the maker of that sound. Tarrant looks for cookie crumbs left by Geint... GMRune: The moaning seems to lessen in intensity after a bit. Kadan carefully takes in the architecture of the area, trying to determine which way might lead out the other end of the chamber. GMRune: Tarrant finds no cookie crumbs. Ghaleon: Little dragon! Are you here anywhere? Valina: Geint! Geint! Kadan's eyes suddenly pop up with understanding. Kadan: Wait... Ayeye leans against a wall and stares at the bracer. Ghaleon pauses, looking curiously at Kadan. Arzel: Uhh...eyes shouldn't do that Kaddy. Rein looks at Kadan expectantly. Earendil: Tell us, Kadan. Kadan raises his half-gloved hand to a cavern on the right side. "Unless that one over there goes up instead of down, I think that one of the right will twist around, then go up there, then around there, and lead out the other side." Valina: Ummm okay. Earendil: Lead the way, then. Par: No wonder his eyes bulged like that... Arzel: Uhh... just show us the way Kaddy... don't try to explain it. O_o GMRune: The party hears a high-pitched crying sound from further into the maze. Earendil: Geint?! GMRune: There's a sniffle and then a "OH CANTH!!! WHERE ARE YOU!?!?! Kadan hunches over and attempts to navigate through the rocky tunnels. GMRune: "WaaaaAAAAAaaaaaaaAAAAaaa D=" Ayeye hesitates slightly before stumbling after the party. Valina follows... GMRune: The party follows Kadan through the maze. The very stone walls around you seem to shift in form and composition, but they hold their shapes and let you pass. GMRune: The sniffle sound grows closer, although much quieter now. Valina: Ohh... this is nice. Earendil yells out, "Geint, we're coming." GMRune: The sniffing sound dies away, but the tunnel is still heading in the direction it seems to have come from. Valina: You know, I don't think I like this place. Kadan lowers his head, trying to run as fast as he can take in the contours of the terrain. GMRune: Faintly, the party hears: "Ear....endil?" Earendil yells back, "Hold on!" GMRune: Kadan plows through the maze, nearly loosing the party that's following him as he navigates through the contorted passageways. Valina hurries after Kadan. Rein: Maybe we can have free burgers and a raffle, just to attract more monsters while we're at it. GMRune: The crying sound resumes with some quiet sniffling. Par looks at Rein strangely. Ayeye stops as Kadan disappears, takes a deep breath, and concentrates on running after him. Earendil: Damn these walls, we have to go faster. Rein: I'm just saying, maybe we should keep it down, geez. GMRune: After a breathless run, the party rounds a bend and finds Geint crying on the floor at a dead end. The moaning sound is fairly intense here and appears to be coming from just beyond that wall. Valina: Geint? Valina goes to Geint. Geint looks up, misty-eyed. Ayeye collapses to the floor when the reach their goal. Earendil: Geint, what's wrong? And what is that sound? Geint: I'm.... sorry I didn't wait..... but Canth!!! I had to find him!!!! Geint: And now......... Geint: Now I.... Geint wails loudly. Geint: I KNOW he's behind that wall!!! He has to be!!!! Earendil: Calm down Geint, and tell us. Valina looks at the wall... Earendil: Maybe we can blast through. Tarrant: Well.. I guess I could knock it down with a little magic.. Geint sniffles, trying to hold back the tears. Valina: There has to be a way through that.. Valina: Don't worry Geint. Geint: But who's to say it wouldn't shift again if you did it?? Rein: Is that sound coming from Canth? Valina: I hope Canth is okay... Geint 's voice turns to a hysterical rage. "I KNOW those warlocks did something to him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tarrant uses a little plant magic and makes some vines attack the wall.. Geint goes back to Crying and then shouts "Oh Canth!!! Please be OK!!! Please if you can hear me try to pull through if you're hurt!!!!!" Geint: *SNIFF* Earendil: Don't worry Geint, we will all get our revenge against the warlocks eventually. Valina: ... GMRune: The wall seems to wash away like water from the shore where Tarrant's vines attack it. There is now a passage through it. Earendil: Everyone, GO! Valina runs. Geint looks up at the wall, frantically getting herself to fly. Earendil rushes through the opening. Kadan: Canth... is he the only way for you attaining the dragonpower, Earendil? Kadan runs. Geint zooms. GMRune: The party finds a slippery stairwell on the other side. It seems like it'll take you a long way down. Ayeye continues lying on the ground. Rein follows. Ghaleon jogs after everyone. Earendil looks behind, "Kadan, go help Ayeye." Valina: Watch out! Valina slips and falls! Kadan dashes back and scoops up Ayeye as fast as he can. Geint zooms down. Valina gets up slowly. Geint: **SWOOSH** Earendil goes down the stairs as quickly as possible Valina holds on to Earendil. GMRune: Earendil slips down the stairs as he tries to steady Valina. Valina: Ahhh... GMRune: The two bounce off the steps until they arrive at the bottom. Earendil: Oh shiiiittttt! GMRune: The rest of the party follows down after Valina and Earendil, although in a less hazardous manner. Kadan tries to clutch onto Ayeye and keep her safe. Earendil: Well Valina, I didn't know your touch would be so painful. GMRune: Finally, now at the fifth level below ground, the passage ends shortly, opening up into a gigantic watery cavern. The floor is not far beneath your feet, but the chill, icy water reaches up just past the knees of the shorter party members (not included Geint). At the other side of this shallow lake the corrider continues. Valina: Me neither... Valina bruised her knee. Kadan glares disdainfully at the cold water by his ankles. Arzel isn't short. :) Valina: Burrr.. I'm freezing. Valina is! Geint continues on, ignoring the cold. Earendil puts his cloak around Valina. Kadan heads toward the large cavern. Valina: Thanks, Earendil. Valina follows. Earendil continues on. GMRune: As the party attempts to cross, a silvery robed figure fades into view above the lake. A long whip, looking much like the spine of some poor creature dangles from a bony hand. Rein grits his teeth and presses forward. Earendil quickly takes out his sword. Kadan takes one half-step back and lowers his head, his gaze not breaking from the figure. Valina: Argh! Geint growls. GMRune: The spectre hisses and sparks of light glow behind its hood as it gazes at the party. "Your journey ends here, warriors." Valina: ... Earendil: Oh, we shall see. Geint roars hysterically "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH CANTH!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" Geint: WHERE IS HE?!?!?! IF YOU HURT HIM--- Spectre: Nothing you need to worry about. It's time for this battle to begin! GMRune: -------round 1------- GMRune: target: Spectre Geint growls insanely. The spectre remains calm, if such a word could be used to describe it. Kadan: Everyone, break apart, then attack from all angles. We shall strike before it can react! GMRune: Kadan casts Initiative! The party goes first! GMRune: Ayeye does nothing. GMRune: Kadan attacks the Spectre! GMRune: attack 1: 126 damage GMRune: attack 2: 130 damage Kadan clenches his teeth as he flays apart the unnatural being. GMRune: Arzel's light magic combines with Par's fire and Tarrant's thunder to form Heat Shock! GMRune: 425 damage! Arzel: Yay!!! GMRune: Ghaleon whacks at the Spectre! GMRune: 8 damage! Earendil: Good going guys. GMRune: ------round 2------ Rein steps back from the beast, shielding his face from the heat wave. Ayeye stands up and concentrates her remaining energy on the Spectre. Kadan grins darkly. "That should tip the scales a bit in our favor... Now let's finish this mockery of life." Arzel grinz at Par and Tarrant. "Let's do that again!" Earendil looks at Kadan. "Agreed." GMRune: Ayeye attacks the Spectre! Rein: C'mon, Geint, let's show this thing the score! GMRune: attack 1: *critical* 45 damage Geint nods. GMRune: 56 damage! GMRune: The spectre's form wavers slightly from the effects of Rein's spell. Kadan wonders if dark magic would heal the enemy. Rein smiles cool-ly. GMRune: Earendil's form blurs as he strikes the Spectre! GMRune: 86 damage! Geint nervously hopes this battle will go quickly............ She wants to go to Canth....... Earendil: Damn, won't this thing ever die? GMRune: Arzel, Par, and Tarrant combine their magic to form Heat Shock another time. GMRune: 415 damage! Rein looks around suspiciously. Tarrant casts heal aura. Geint: *Sniff* Geint holds back her tears and flies fast, a lump in her throat... she thinks she knows what she'll see... GMRune: Everyone heals 107 hp or reaches max if that would take them over. Rein follows Geint. Arzel does likewise. Geint: . . . .... GMRune: As you pass through the final corrider you enter Canth's lair. The ancient blue dragon lies on his side on a wide cavern ledge near a ziggurat with a glowing crystal at its peak. Geint: *shout* CANTH!!!!!! Geint flies to Canth! Arzel follows Geint. GMRune: The moaning sound has ended with the death of the spectre by the way. Canth looks brightly at all of you as you enter. Earendil goes up to the great dragon. Canth: Welcome, Geint. Welcome, Dragonboy. Welcome to all of you. You have proven yourself able and courageous fighters, and above all, willing to care for each other in their time of need. I have been watching your progress, and I have been throughly impressed, although I am saddened by how much Geint has gone through. Geint: C........CANTH ARE YOU OK?!?!?!?!?!? O_O Oh Canth!! Please answer!!!! Geint: .....? Canth: I knew you would return one day, Dragonboy. And I made my cave ready for your arrival. Earendil stands up solemnly. "What must I do?" Canth reaches out and pats Geint on the head with a massive claw. "I'm sorry for worrying you so..." Geint wipes the reamaining tears from her eyes as she figures things out, then hugs Canth as best she can. "Oh Canth!!!!! =D" Geint: Canth!! It's ok! *Sniff* I thought I lost you!!! Arzel walks slowly back into a shadow and leans against the wall. Canth: Now that you have passed the test, you may claim your prize, my Blue Dragon Helmet. May it serve you well. Canth gestures upward at the crystal hovering atop the ziggurat. Earendil looks up at the crystal and slowly ascends the ziggurat. Geint stays by Canth. Canth: You've more than earned it, Dragonboy. Earendil slowly puts his hand out and touches the crystal. GMRune: The crystal flashes and vanishes, leaving a red- clothed helmet hovering before him. Valina watches Earendil. Geint smiles. Earendil stands in awe at the sight of the helmet. Canth rumbles pleasantly, watching Earendil. Earendil takes the helmet and slowly lowers it onto his head. GMRune: Earendil receives the Blue Dragon Helmet! He learns Blue Dragon Heal! GMRune: The helmet settles sungly on Earendil's head, like it had been made especially for him. Earendil turns around and comes down the ziggurat, seeming to be in a world of his own. Earendil goes up to Canth. "I will do my best to honor your gift." Canth bows his head to Earendil. "I would be grateful for that, young Dragonboy. These times of trouble grow only darker. It's about time someone arrived to take us into the light." Earendil: Then let's go, Lunar needs us. Canth: I think... you might also wish to return to Geint's cave and finish up your work there. I'm certain she would like to take a visit home again. Kadan: Depends if Leon here passes out again... Arzel: *from the shadows* There's the problem of transportaion, all of our gryphons are gone. Arzel: And it will take quite a while to walk back. Canth: I can transport you there. It's the least a dragon can do until you acquire the White Dragon Wings. Geint: Oh that would be the greatest, Canth! =D Canth: I ask that all of you only keep in mind that Kargeth has more planned for Lunar than merely ruling over the warlocks. You'll need to keep an eye out for him and all who associate themselves with House Nissa in particular. Ayeye perks up at the mention of Nissa. Geint nods, still a bit shaken up from everything. =b Earendil nods. "I look forward to the day when we meet again." Arzel snickers. Canth: As do I, young Dragonboy. Canth beckons the party to gather near to each other and begins to hum the syllables to activate his magic. Arzel: Kargeth won't live long enough to rule Lunar with a back stabbing runt like Garreth by his side. GMRune: As party fades from existence as Canth casts his spell over them. GMRune: -----end session--------
