Your sleep is surprisingly restful. GMRune: In fact, the degree to which you recover has an almost magical quality to it. (No, Kadan, not like it's the tainted kind either.) GMRune: In the morning you awaken to Par knocking on your doors. He calls your names, rousing you from your sleep. Kadan gives an unrestrained stretch and yawn, then scratches the back of his head contentedly. Tarrant slowly come out of sleeping Par: Hello? Earendil? Rein? Val? You guys up yet? Rein pulls himself out of bed with a mighty feat of willpower. Par: Kadan even? (beneath his breath) although he seems to sleep awfully heavily... Rein: yeah yeah... Kadan looks around, and his lip curls at his surroundings. "Oh yeah..." Arzel has been up for a while, studying his magic. Earendil mumbles "Okay, I'm up." *YAWN* Arzel: We're up Par, we're up. Rein looks for a new shirt. Par: All right. I'm just checking. We're got to make plans for what we're going to do next! Rein: My old one has tar on it... Arzel rises and puts his book away. Par waits for everyone to get dressed and come out into the hall. Kadan winces at the mention of the serious business ahead. "Gah... isn't there anything to eat around this place?" Rein emerges with his undercoat of fine chain mail showing. Arzel walks out into the hall. The bush rustles as if it could hear what Kadan had said... Ayeye enters the hall, "What are we going to do next?" GMRune: When you open your doors, you see Par standing in the hallway. Earendil throws his clothes on and walks out into the hall. Tarrant throws clothes on himself and goes out in the hall. GMRune: Now that you know he is a warlock, he has discarded his peasant's garb and is dressed in a long flowing black robe. Its wide loose sleeves hide the bracer with his warlock symbol from view, although you are certain that it is still there. Par's knife is gone as well, replaced by a copper cane. Kadan looks at the bush. "Don't worry. I'm not a vegetarian." Arzel: Hey Par! Uhh, nice outfit. Par: (to Ayeye) I was thinking you guys might like to get some new equipment for starters. The bush rustles at Kadan and yawns. Earendil: Being a warlock does have a few privaleges Par: Well, for now at any rate. Rein blinks sleepily, still not fully awake. His crimson hair flies around wildly. Tarrant rubs his hands together new equipment. Par: Anyway, Lady Mileria has asked me to take you to our house's trading post. House Magus isn't known for for its weapons, so I'm afraid we don't have the best of arms to offer you, but it will have to do. Rein is reminded of his lost staff... Kadan finds a mirror, flattens his hair, and looks behind his teeth and under his chin. Earendil: Any sword would be better than this one. Arzel: I'd like a new pair of claws... Par: And then perhaps after that we can grab a bite to eat in the dining hall. Kadan: That's the spirit, Earendil! Nothing can assure victory better than a nice sturdy blade. Kadan's ears perk up at the mention of dining hall. Par rolls his eyes but remains quiet. Kadan: Is it one of those fancy schmancy deals, or is a buffet? Rein suddenly realizes how long it has been since he's had real food. Earendil eyes Kadan and says, "And a magical blade would be even better." Arzel grins at Earendil. Par: Kadan, I assure you, it will be one of the best meals you've ever had. As Earendil said, there are privaleges to being a warlock. Par gestures for the party to follow him down the hall and he proceeds to take you further up into the Crystal Spire. Arzel follows Par. Par leads the group of you up to what is perhaps the fourth or fifth floor. Kadan eyes the surrounding area, still a bit unnecessarily wary. GMRune: There he takes you into a large room where there are three traders. One specializes in weapons, another in armor, and the last in miscellaneous items. Par: Just go ahead and talk with them. They won't bite! Kadan begins to examine the wares. Arzel looks at Par and then to the traders. Earendil walks up to the weapons trader, "What do you have good sir?" Tarrant: Well I really don't need weapons..nor armor..So I guess miscellaneous items.. Kadan accosts the armor trader. Arzel goes along with Earendil. Rein checks out the weapons. Rein gives the steel staff a few practice swings. Kadan: We should examine the other wares first, before we make any decisions. Arzel for once agrees with Kadan. Kadan opens the weekly store ad to see if he can clip any relevant coupons. TraderA: I'll give you 5 S for the bronze saber. Earendil: Okay, here's the saber and I'll take an Onyx Sword. Arzel wants Panther Claws...but they're sooooo expensive. Kadan would like to see the armor available before confirming Earendil. Par: If you guys don't have enough money for what you need. Kadan: Well, I suppose we each 61 to spend, plus or minus whatever the others don't need. Rein moseys over and checks out the prices at the item shop. Kadan: Armorer, how much is this leather suit worth? Arzel: Can I have an extra 2 S? Rein: Sounds okay to me. Rein looks around at the others. Kadan bullies the armorer until he appraises his old leather armor. TraderB: (to Kadan) I'll give you 6 S for your armor. Kadan nods. "If I could borrow 5 over my allowance, I would be most grateful." Rein: You can have a bit of mine, if you need. GMRune: Item Store Inventory: GMRune: Herb heals 20 HP 5 S GMRune: Wind Comb +10 Hit%, +1 Att 40 S Earendil says to the weapons trader bordering on yelling, "Well, you going to buy my sword and sell me one or not?!" Rein: No starlight? TraderC: Sorry, due to problems with Kargeth, we can't sell starlights to non-warlocks. Rein: oh... darn Kadan pummels Rein in the gut, forcing him to drop 5 silver. Earendil sells his sword to the trader. Kadan will go next, if nobody objects. Rein gives a Kadan a dirty look form his seat on the ground. GMRune: Earendil sells his sword for 5 S. Rein: What was that for!?!? Kadan: Rein, you said I could borrow 5 silver from you. Did I misunderstand? Arzel: Can I borrow 2 S from someone? Earendil: Here's the money for the Onyx Sword my good man. Rein looks around at the rest of the party in exasperation. GMRune: Earendil gets an Onyx Sword! Rein hopes Kadan's knuckles got chewed up on his chain mail. Ayeye looks at the various items, and then looks through her backpack. Kadan strips off his leather armor and slams it on the counter. "Trade this in for the Banded Mail, my good man? I believe this shrinks the bill to 66." Earendil takes a few practice swings with the black blade and nods. Arzel: If need be I'll sell something silly of mine and buy the Panther Claws myself. Ayeye pulls out the Hair Clip and looks it over. GMRune: Kadan goes next, trading his leather armor in for banded mail. Kadan oos and ahs as he slips the layered straps of sheet metal and hardened leather over his clothing. Earendil: Kadan, you take far too much pleasure in that. Rein looks at Ayeye. "You're not selling that?!!?" he exclaims in mock horror. Arzel: So, can I I borrow some money? Kadan cheers as a small green number appears overhead, indicating his defense increase. Ayeye: No, just thinking. Rein smiles. Arzel taps his fingers. Kadan whimpers as he sees the faint gold crackling within the blade of the Thunder Axe. "We must return here after we secure some more profits." Earendil takes pity on Arzel and gives him 2 S. Arzel: Whoo hoo! Tarrant: Well I guess I will take a Copper Cane.. Arzel: Thanks Earendil! TraderA: And might you be selling your old cane as well? Earendil: No problem. Tarrant: Yes, please. Arzel will sell his steel claws and buy a pair of Panther Claws GMRune: Tarrant's Brass Cane sells for 5 S and he acquires Copper Cane. Kadan snickers at Arzel pretending to invest in raw steel when all he does is fling burning infernal energies back and forth. Arzel thinks about showing Kadan the power of those burning energies but decides to keep his MP at max. Ayeye thinks she must have gained the power of telepathy because she keeps hearing other's thoughts. :) GMRune: Arzel's Steel Claws sell for 5 S and he acquires Panther Claws. Arzel: Yay. Kadan nudges Ayeye to get those bitchin' claws. Rein: I'll take an iron bracer from the armor shop, and a 6-pack of herbs GMRune: Rein acquires an Iron Bracer and 6 herbs. Kadan punches Rein in the gut again. "Gimme!" =) Earendil: Rein, I'll trade you one of my starlights for two of your herbs. Ayeye: I don't need those, they're too expensive and, besides, I rely on skill, not newer toys. Rein clings onto his herb pouch tenaciously. Rein: (to Earendil) That sounds good. Rein tosses 2 herb packets over Kadan to Ear. Kadan whimpers. Kadan: Oh well... just be sure to use those on me if I start crying loud enough! Earendil throws a starlight to Rein right in front of Kadan's eyes. Rein: If you really need herbs, Kadan, you could just ask me. Kadan pats Rein's shoulder. "Or else who will look out for you, eh kid?" GMRune: Rein exchanges 2 herbs for a starlight with Earendil. Rein grabs the starlight and secretes it away in some Kadan-proof pocket. Par: Are you sure you don't need anything, Ayeye? Ayeye: Is everyone else done? Rein nods. Par: Yes. Earendil: Yes. Rein: (to Kadan) So do you want some herbs, or what? Ayeye grins. "I can use all of the rest of the money!" Kadan: No, that's ok Rein. I have some left. I'll just pick some up next time. Rein: Ok. Ayeye: I guess I'll get those claws, and trade these in. GMRune: Ayeye gets 5 S for her Steel Claws and acquires Panther Claws. Arzel: Panther Claws! They're cool Ayeye. Kadan: Ayeye, those are nice and sparklie. Now be sure and put all your oomph in when you use those! Kadan: If we're all done, I could use 3 herbs... Kadan: Or 2. Whatever. TraderC: Okay, here's two herbs. Rein: I think we may as well spend it. Kadan: Then we'll be sure to chop up lots of stuff! Rein: Dying with money left over is a bad idea. Ayeye goes to the nearest mirror and fixes up her hair with the Hair Clip. Kadan looks at his studly new armor, and hopes the herbs won't be necessary. Earendil: If nobody minds, may I get a new shield? GMRune: Ayeye equips the Hair Clip! Arzel: Ayeye, do you remember where you found that? Ayeye: Yes, and of course I cleaned it. I had to after The Bush tried to eat it. Tarrant: Lets get going guys. We can't spend the whole day shopping.. The bush: *pant* *pant* Par: Yes, if you're done, I suggest we try heading down to the dining hall. Kadan: Right. We need to discover the secrets of these 'pendant bearers' or whatnot. Ayeye: It seemed to be very important to that person. I shall try to make sure it is used for a good purpose. Par: Or maybe Geint will want to buy something first... Rein: Hey, there's still enough for a furred mantel, right? GMRune: Geint buys a Furred Mantel for herself. Arzel looks at Rein "You're the honorary healer...you want this holy water?" Rein: Holy Water? Where did you get that? Rein: Umm... that's okay.. I have spell that can cover that... best to keep the items spread out to those that can't use spells Rein: Thanks though. GMRune: Seeing that the party is finished shopping, Par leads you all downstairs towards the mess hall. GMRune: There you all have mouth-watering food prepared just for you. The only thing that would be better would be if Tarrant was cooking! GMRune: However the exotic foods are an experience in themselves. Kadan searches for some beefaroni. Geint: Bring it on and just keep it coming!! Rein feasts gloriously. Tarrant looks down at the haphazard preparation of the food *scoof* but eats it anyway GMRune: Geint gets lots of salmon! Earendil takes a helping of this and of this and of that and that and that and . . . Kadan: Ayeye, be sure to keep your pet away from the garnish bar. Arzel eats until he's too full to eat more. The bush looks offendedly at Kadan and hops up on the table. Rein stays well away from the wyburn steaks, though. Rein: Gack. Ayeye: Well, there goes the food. The bush proceeds to eat up all the fruit salad. GMRune: As you eat, Par outlines his plans to you. Par: Now the way I see it, we have several options availible to us at this point. Although having a Dragonmaster involved was not originally in our plans of overthrowing Emperor Kargeth, if Earendil becomes one, it will certainly help us a great deal. And for that we need to start collecting the Dragon armors of legend. Geint: *munch* *munch* *krunch* *krunch* Par: We also have another option. We can return to Shelladon and search for what's left of the resistance base. The rebellion had an archive hidden in the sewers. That how we found out about our tome in the first place. It may have information about the pendants as well. Tarrant: Hey Geint shussh I am trying to hear this. Geint: Yea!! I'll be his personal dragon! I'll whip him into Dragonmaster status!! Earendil: Yes Par, but Canth said that I do not have the experience yet to use the armors. Par: And lastly, House Terna is based in the city of Lentol. As the bookkeepers of the empire, they keep copies of all the documentation passed around the various Houses. If it's official, Terna has it. If we try infiltrating their mansions, we might find out just how much more the Empire knows than we do as well as the locations of the Serpent Staff and the Pendant of Hope. Geint: When ya get 'em, you'll be ready. Par: That's true, Earendil. That's why I've suggested these other ideas. Ayeye: This time I'll remember Lord Nimet, err, I think that was it. Kadan: Par, these trips you've been taking around the countryside with us have proven rather dangerous. Surely you can arrange some more help for us? Par: (to Kadan) Such as? Kadan: I dunno. I'm just thinking we could get scouting teams to scour the land over for these things. Par: Lady Mileria and the other warlocks of House Magus have their hands full right now. Tarrant: Why Kadan are you getting soft on us? Kadan: I suppose that's to be expected. Par: And the other rebellion members are busy as well. I'm just suggesting our own part to do. Kadan: Tarrant, my courage is not at doubt here. I'm merely trying to find the best tactical solution here. Rein eats steadily, waiting for the party to come to a decision. Earendil: I think that we should first track down Valina's pendant and then go for the others. Geint: It depends on where hers is in relation to the others. Kadan looks up and thinks. "Hmm... what better way to find out where they're keeping the Serpent Staff than in the warlock's own records." Par: That's a bit of a problem right now since we have no idea where Gausuton is. Arzel walks over to Tarrant saying loud enough so Kadan can hear. "He's just a lazy Lumox." Geint: Wouldn't we wanna try and get the easiest first then work our way up? Earendil: The longer we wait, the harder it will get to find Valina's pendant. Par: But if we go to House Terna, we might find that info. Tarrant: I think House Terna is the best option. Kadan smiles bravely. "And nobody, I mean *nobody* knows the ins and outs of Lentol better than I do." Par nods his head. "I think so as well." Ayeye: But they know what we're after and are sure to increase defense. Arzel: What about Garreth? Earendil: So then, now that we know where we are going, how are we going to get in? Par: I can either arrange for the wyburn wing to fly us again. Or we can simply walk. Kadan: Don't worry about that, Earendil. I know that place well. It's how I got my start in the Magic Hunting business, you know. Rein stops eating and looks up in alarm. Tarrant: I need some exercise.. Let us journey on foot. Rein glances distastefully at the wyburn steaks The bush slurps up one of the steaks and burps deeply. Kadan considers the options. "If they are truly alerted to our intentions, then we cannot afford to take the wyburns. They will spot us immediately. A ground infiltration is in order." Ayeye: I want to ride a gryphon again, maybe they can be tamed. Rein looks gratefully at Tarrant. Earendil: Foot or flight, either one, I do not care. Geint: I care less. Par: Ayeye, if I could, I would try to find us some gryphons. But they're difficult to catch, let alone control. Only a few warlocks houses have succeeded in doing so. Geint: But either way, my mode of travel I prefer the most is sitting on someone's shoulder. Par: Well, since Kadan says he knows the area pretty well, let's give walking a try. Kadan: Now is not the time to clamber over the skies above Lentol with some clumsy winged mounts. We need to slip in during the night, unnoticed. That I can arrange. Ayeye: Well maybe your using the wrong approach, gryphons could be resistent to magic. Tarrant looks over at Geint.. "How about for a change we sit on Geint should instead.. Just kidding Geint." Geint flies to Earendil's shoulder. Par: (to Ayeye) It's a possibility. But then not everyone uses magic to control their wyburns either. Earendil begins to think that the pink thing on his shoulder has been there all his life. Par gets up and servants come in to take all your dishes away. Ayeye: I didn't say to control, I meant to capture and tame. Kadan looks down for a minute, lost in thought. "... Been a while since I've been in that old joint." Par: Oh... Par leads the group down and outside of the Crystal Spire. You pass quite a few warlocks on your way out, but they pay you no mind. GMRune: There is no sign of Lady Mileria or the silver-haired boy from yesterday. GMRune: The hidden door opens before the group and closes as you exit the tower. Par: Lead on, Kadan. Kadan wets his finger and holds it up to the breeze as he gazes over the western horizon. Kadan points over the hills in the distance. "Lentol is there. To the west..." Par knows the direction to Lentol, having lived there himself, but he's content to let Kadan lead. GMRune: Kadan leads the party outside of Vane and to the west. Kadan stays a comfortable distance ahead of the group, navigating across the wilderness. Rein spins his staff and whistles as he sets off down the road. GMRune: It's a good three days' journey to Lentol, and much of your time is spent simply trudging along. But you notice something unusual in the middle of the second day... Earendil wishes he had a picture of himself with Geint on his shoulder Kadan wipes his brow and continues on, not sure what to think of his destination. GMRune: The trees around you seem withdrawn as if they've curled in upon themselves. Geint: Umm.....what's with the trees? GMRune: You hear a feminine scream coming from up ahead and then a fevered sort of panting. Rein looks around suspiciously. Arzel looks wearily at the trees. Rein: Something feels wrong here.... Arzel: Smegs? GMRune: An angry male voice yells something incoherantly. Ayeye runs toward the scream. Arzel straps his slaws on. Arzel follows Ayeye. Rein dashes forward. Kadan slowly reaches to the back of his belt and unclips his axe. Earendil pulls his sword from its sheath and moves forward. GMRune: The party dashes into action and rush through the barrage of trees. Geint: It's a lady in trouble!! C'mon, valiant Dragonmaster!! Rescue her from impending doom!! Tarrant looks around cautiously. Earendil: What do you think we're doing? GMRune: As the foilage parts before you, you see a young woman running from four slippery green creatures. They resemble vaguely humanoid frogs. GMRune: A young man is yelling at the creatures to catch the girl! Young Man: Hurry up and catch her, you slugs!! Earendil: (to the man) I wouldn't do that if I we're you. GMRune: He turns as he notices your entrance. Ayeye runs between the girl and the other things. Ayeye: What do you want her for? GMRune: The girl takes refuge behind the party! Geint sticks out her tounge at the man from Earendil's shoulder. GMRune: -------round 1----- Arzel stands infront of the slug things blocking their path. Young Man: None of your effing business! Rein looks at the girl. "Are you hurt?" Kadan glares at the man. "Picked the wrong hunter to run into today, sir." Earendil: Oh, we shall see about that. GMRune: targets : front row 4 leapers; back row warlock flunky Geint: EVERYTHING is my effing business!!!! Geint: Effing is my middle name!! well ok....maybe I don't even have a last name buuuut... Girl: *pant* *pant* No, I don't think so... Ayeye turns to the girl, "Nani?" The young man glares at the impertinent little talking bunny. Rein nods and turns his attention to the toads. Geint: Whacha think YOU'RE lookin' at??? GMRune: Ayeye blurs forward and attacks the warlock flunky! GMRune: 12 damage! GMRune: Kadan attacks leaper #1! GMRune: His first attack cleaves through the rubbery hide for 41 damage! His second attack catchs it in the ribs for 42 damage! Kadan tries to avoid the splattering entrails. GMRune: Leaper #1 attacks Kadan in return! GMRune: 1 damage! Earendil: Take that you effing warlock wannabe! GMRune: Rein stays by the girl's side. GMRune: The warlock glowers at the party and casts Rockslide! The front row is pummeled by flying stones! GMRune: Ayeye is hit for 17 damage! Kadan is hit for 49 damage! Valina is hit for 24 damage! Geint is hit for 27 damage! Earendil is hit for 35 damage! GMRune: Arzel casts a bolt of flame at the warlock flunky! GMRune: 8 damage! The young man sneers at Arzel. "Using magic to hurt a warlock? How pathetic." Arzel: Damn warlocks and their magic resistance, no offense Par. GMRune: Par twirls his cane in front of him. His form blurs as he uses his staff magic against the warlock flunky. Par: Not a problem, Arzel. GMRune: 27 damage! GMRune: Tarrant calls up several poisonous plants up out of the ground. Their spores explode around the front row of leapers! GMRune: They each take 51 damage to each! GMRune: ----round 2---- GMRune: Ayeye blurs forward and begins hacking away at the warlock flunky! Tarrant: Don't mess with us nor the plants! GMRune: 13 damage! Rein plants one end of his staff firmly against the ground. GMRune: Kadan attacks leaper #2! GMRune: attack 1: 35 damage Rein raises two fingers before his forehead, and a blue light starts to spread from there... GMRune: attack 2: 42 damage! GMRune: Leaper #2 bites the dust! GMRune: Leaper #3 attacks Earendil! GMRune: 8 damage! GMRune: Leaper #4 attacks Kadan! GMRune: 1 damage! Kadan screams ouch profusedly. GMRune: Valina's form blurs as she fastcuts the warlock flunky! GMRune: 21 damage! GMRune: The warlock casts Rockslide on the back row! Geint: This is easy pickins!! Geint: Uh oh!! Geint: Watch out, guys!! Earendil looks behind him and winces. GMRune: Rein is pummeled for 33 damage! Arzel is pummeled for 23 damage! Par is pummeled for 9 damage! Tarrant is pummeled for 1 damage! Rein staggers but holds his concentration GMRune: Geint casts Herbal Breeze! GMRune: Scented flowers form around leaper #4! It falls asleep! GMRune: Earendil casts Quiet on the warlock flunky! Kadan: Damn potpourri... GMRune: The warlock resists! He is not muted. Earendil: S***! GMRune: Rein casts Aura Litany! The front row is healed! Kadan shakes uncontrollably with shudders and chills of disgust. "Rein, don't DO that!" Rein's blue aura reaches critical mass and washes over the front row. GMRune: Ayeye recovers 18 hp! Kadan, Valina, Geint, and Earendil each recover 21 hp! GMRune: Arzel moves up to the front row. GMRune: Par's form blurs as he attacks the warlock flunky! GMRune: 29 damage! GMRune: Tarrant summons up a row of mushrooms which filled the air around the leapers with poisonous spores! GMRune: 50 damage to leapers #3 and 4! GMRune: ----round 3---- Geint: Crud!!!! Tarrant: Those frog slime guys are strong. Rein: Anyone hurt bad? Kadan is above 75%. GMRune: Ayeye blurs forward, slashing madly at the warlock flunky! GMRune: 12 damage! GMRune: Kadan chops up leaper#3! Valina: Rein... I'm a little banged up, but I think I can make it GMRune: attack 1: 37 damage! GMRune: It dies! Kadan thinks it's cruel to attack the last sleeping leaper, but decides to do it anyway. GMRune: Kadan attacks leaper #4! GMRune: attack 2: 46 damage! GMRune: It dies! Kadan continues chopping the creature with a dazed look on his face. GMRune: Valina's form blurs as she wide-slashes the back row. Kadan: They are all against me... they all must die... GMRune: ------victory------ Kadan staggers, but quickly regains his footing, looking up at the accursed warlock with the same teeth-clenched twisted rage that appears on his webpage pic. Valina: Ouch... Rein: Gather close evryone! GMRune: The party gains 88 XP, 51 MEXP, and 90 S. Valina is crawling on the ground. Tarrant: Yeah. Arzel tries to hold all his hurt parts but finds there are too many. Valina crawls forward. Earendil: Finally. Rein begins to prepare a heal aura. Tarrant prepares to heal the needy. Tarrant: Who's first? Earendil: Tarrant, all of us. Rein casts heal aura. Ayeye turns to the girl, "Who are you and why did he want to capture you?" Rein's blue light bursts forth over the party again Valina looks at the girl... GMRune: Ayeye heals 17 hp. Par heals 9 hp. Tarrant heals 1 hp. Everyone else heals 21. Earendil: We need an inn. Valina: Ohh.... I could use another dose please... The girl looks up wide-eyed at all her rescuers. Arzel: Ya, or an Althena Statue. Rein looks to Tarrant concerning further healing. GMRune: Tarrant casts Heal Litany on Rein. GMRune: Rein heals 12 hp and is at max! Arzel casts Heal Litany on himself Rein: Oops.. that's not quite what I meant... Geint flaps over to the girl. Rein: Thanks though. Geint: Are you OK? GMRune: Arzel casts Heal Litany and heals 21 hp! Rein: I think some other people are hurt worse. Valina: Rein... could I please be healed...again. Earendil: ooh . . . I think Valina and I could use some help. Tarrant: I can take Valina and Earendil... Rein nods. GMRune: Tarrant casts Heal Litany on Val and Ear. Valina sits by her soon to be Dragonmaster friend and agrees with him. Valina: Thanks, Tarrant. GMRune: Valina heals 28 hp! GMRune: Earendil heals 39 hp! Earendil: Thank you Tarrant. The girl murmurs, "Thank you" to the party. Now that you get a better look at her. She doesn't seem quite human. Her eyes are very large and expressive. And somehow her movements seem too graceful or simply more alien. Ayeye: Again, who are you and why did the warlock want you captured? Girl: I...? My name is Seera. But as to why the warlock wanted me... I'd rather not talk about it. Par looks at the girl curiously. Ayeye: How can we help you if we don't know your problem? Valina looks at the girl strangly... Girl: Well... the fact that you saved me is enough for me... for now... Earendil: Where are you from? Rein kneels near the girl and looks at her curiously. Ayeye: Warlocks usually have a reason for attacking people, and I want to know why they attacked you. Girl: From? I'm from around here... Earendil: I see . . . Seera: They just like capturing people... to further their empire and everything... Arzel: Ayeye, that was a warlock wannabe. Geint: I sense something about you............ Ayeye: Exactly, to furthur their empire, it doesn't help them to capture random people. Why did they want you? The girl looks at Geint and blinks her doe-like eyes. Kadan looks around impatiently. "I don't like this..." Kadan: We need to get moving again. I don't think we should be kept here. Geint smiles at Seera. Seera: Yes, you'd best be on your way. I thank you for your help... but I don't mean to bother you. Geint: I know what you are... do you know what I am? Earendil: (whispering to Geint) What is it? Rein looks at the rest of the party critically. "Can't you even give her some time to rest before interrogating her?" Seera: Of course, little dragon! Seera bows her head reverantly at Geint. Geint: Cool! Supposedly mythical creatures rule!! ;) Earendil: Now how did you know about out little air bunny? Seera: All denizens of the forest do. Ayeye: Maybe if we turn her over to Garreth he will tell us why the warlocks want her. Geint: She's a dryad I think. Right? Earendil: Ayeye... Valina: Dryad? Seera's eyes widen, and she leaps up with amazing speed. Ayeye smiles at Earendil, "Yes?" Earendil: We should never consider turning over anybody to the warlocks. Geint: No!! You can't!!!! Who knows what they'll do to her!! Arzel bows slightly to the Dryad, knowing of their power Seera: Little dragon, I don't know why you travel with these people, but they can't be trusted! You know what the warlocks have done to our people! Geint: Hey! It's OK. I wouldn't let 'em turn ya over to those monsters!! ---no offence Par. Earendil: The dryads, I thought that they were only legends. Par chuckles lowly and nods. Geint: So. I bet you thought dragons were legends, too. Rein sounds now even more indignant "How can you suggest such a thing!" he says to the party. Ayeye: Why do they want the dryads? Seera looks around bewilderedly, not hearing anything you are saying. Valina: It seems the Warlocks want EVERYBODY... Earendil: Oh, I had a little more faith in dragons. Rein: (aside to the girl) I don't know these people. Geint: Eh..... same reason they don't like other mages...they're afraid of what they may not be able to control. GMRune: Her forms blurs, and she is gone before you can ask her anything else... Ayeye: Rein, it's called bluffing. Do you think they would tell us anything? GMRune: Only the rustling leaves are left, and the plants around you return to normal. Valina: whoa... Kadan: She may have been a spy... We need to get moving as fast as possible before they fortify any further. Rein glares back, his hackles up... Ayeye's subtlety is lost on him. Par: No, Kadan, I don't think so... Geint: Kadan!!! Ayeye: Why didn't she do that when the warlock attacked? Geint: My senses are not wrong. The bush pants happily at Valina. Geint: Probobly too late. Par: She didn't teleport, Ayeye. Valina speaks to the bush... Ayeye: But she left really quick. Par: Dryads are incredibly fast moving creatures. They can move swiftly for short distances. Geint shouts aloud: "Bye little Dryad!!!! Keep your cool!!" Par: But she probably was too tired from running to ditch the warlock earlier. Our battle gave her time to recover. The bush pants at Valina. Geint: Good. I like dryads... they're a bit skiddish but cool!!! Earendil: She probably went back to these trees. Rein shakes his head, thoroughly confused by the current events. Ayeye: If you say so. Well Kadan, lead onward. Kadan looks somewhat disturbed, and continues on towards the west. Par nods. "Yes, we'd better be going onward." Par: Funny thing though... I didn't know there were any dryads left in the wilderness. I thought they had all been captured. Earendil: Well, that was an interesting little side quest. Ayeye: Why does anyone want to capture dryads? Valina: Yea... Geint: Well, I guess she's been dodging....... she couldn't have been the last... otherwise they'd send a REAL warlock to catch her. Par: They are very useful "servants" to the empire due to their magical qualities. Many of the male warlocks are *cough* fond of them as well... GMRune: The party continues following Kadan to the west. Earendil catches Par's drift. Valina looks at Par. Valina: Sickos! Ayeye: I see, I think. Kadan leads bravely onward, stopping occasionally to check for signs of followers or ambushes. Geint: Yea Val! Ditto!!!!!! Valina: There is ANOTHER reson why we should stop the warlocks! Rein turns his brain off, packs his staff, and troops along. Geint: Yea!! to save the widdle dryads from inhumanity.... not like thay ARE humanity... GMRune: After another day and a half of travel... Lentol looms ahead of you as the sun rises to your backs. GMRune: Even at a distance the seaside city looks grungy and full of scum. GMRune: Hardly even the warlocks bother with this place. House Terna owns no buildings within the city tself, but rather all on the outskirts, well away from the filth. Valina: Hummm... GMRune: The warlock manors are situated by the beach on the opposite side of town from where you are. Apparently the sea air is preferable to the rabble nearby. Earendil: Well, I'm sure this place doesn't score high in the tourist books. Ayeye: Kadan, Par, anyone, which building are we going to? Par: You're quite right, Earendil. But before I became a warlock, this town was my home... Par: We'll have to cross through the city to get to the warlock manors... Since it's been a while since I was last here I figured Kadan could lead us. Kadan: There are some bunkers beneath the perimeter that the smuggler parties from before the Empire built. Kadan: We can use those if we avoid the west district since they have basements built into them. Par: Interesting thought, Kadan. Are you sure that would be any safer than crossing through the city though? Last I was here, the undergrounds were filled with thieves and murderers. Rein remembers our first adventures in the sewers. Kadan: Don't worry, Par. Most of them know me. Par shudders. "Well, if you say so..." Geint: Reassuring thought, Kadan... Arzel looks at Kadan wearily. Valina: Ohhh it sounds like just our type of place ;) GMRune: The party heads towards the city perimeters and towards the bunkers Kadan has suggested. GMRune: ----end session-----
