Cast of Characters

Here are brief bios of the eight characters in my Magic Empire RPG. Nothing secret that the other players shouldn't know about has been revealed. But information here may be added or altered as time goes on and the characters learn more about themselves and each other. If any players out there want something added to their online profile that I've omitted from the original one you sent me (because I felt the other characters weren't likely to hear that part of your history from you), then please let me know and I'll add it on.

Earendil

Earendil was one of the first few Mage Knights from the rebellion. He stands about 6'2" and has blond hair. A young man of about 20, he joined the rebels about 3 years ago, only months before they were defeated.

Earendil was born and raised in Shelladon; his father, Tuor, being one of the great city's knights. And young Earendil proved to be quite talented with the blade, winning a place of honor among the knights. But when Earendil was 17, the city of Shelladon fell to the warlock armies. He joined the rebels not long afterwards, and when the idea for the Mage Knights came up, he was swift to volunteer.

Update as of Session #9: Geint has chosen Earendil to be Lunar's Dragonmaster in this time of trouble. He now has the Dragon Ring, the first step to accomplishing his destiny.

Update as of Session #35: Canth has awarded Earendil with the Blue Dragon Helmet. Earendil can now cast Blue Dragon Heal.

Update as of Session #37: Earendil passed Geint's test and in return she gave him the Red Dragon Shield and the Red Dragon Anger spell.

Update as of Session #64: Earendil passed Quark's trial of cunning and was award the Whtie Dragon Wings and the spell White Dragon Protect.

Update as of Interlude #12: After realizing his own lack of self-worth in Shea's test, Earendil found the means to face the weakness within him and heal it. He was then awarded the Black Dragon Armor and learned the spell Black Dragon Sadness.

Update as of Session #88: After defeating the Dragon Angels Earendil earned the right to wield the Sword of Althena and became the Dragonmaster. He learned his final Dragonmaster spell, Dragon Dream.

Rein

Rein is an 15-year-old apprentice priest who was chosen by the great priest Mendren to be his student. Rein and his sister Pria both studied under Mendren since childhood in the wilderness in the interior of the continent, although they frequently visited cities when their mentor had business there.

Rein looks and acts every bit his age. He stand 5' 5" and weighs 110 lbs. He has bright red hair and always wears a simple, loose-fitting white shirt that hangs to about mid-thigh. The shirt is tied at the waist with a bright blue strip of cloth, serving as a belt. For pants he wears a strip of cloth wrapped tightly around each leg. And to quote his player: "If this is hard to envision, think of a mummy, only neater and cleaner :)"

Update as of Session #64: Rein has been reunited with his younger sister, Pria, in the form of Shea. He leaves the party to go with his sister and undergo a quest to become the next pendant bearer.

Update as of Interlude #10: Through a mingling of blood between him and Shea, Rein receives some of Althena's blood and become the bearer of the Pendant of Chaos.

Kadan

Kadan is a very intimidating figure. He has very short, scruffy brown hair and a neatly trimmed beard and goatee. His forehead always looks stern and irritiable. He is very broad-shouldered and stands at 6'7". His limbs are long and muscled, and his figure is broad and healthy. He always wears red-plated armor over his clothing, strapped together with loose pieces of material. His figure is that of a barbarian, but his clothing and hygeine are well-kept. He is actually a rather well-groomed person, he's just massive and grisly in appearance. He is somewhat handsome, though his face twisted with latent anger often betrays any trace of it. He carries himself in a very masculine and intimidating manner, making others fear them before they get thoughts of attacking him.

Kadan might not be a very talkative chap (prefering to simply axe his enemies rather than speak to them), but even if you haven't been around him very long, you'll soon realize how much this guy hates magic!

Update as of Session #17: The party learns that Kadan's sister was killed by a mage several years ago, which marked the day he lost all faith in Althena's existence. Kadan has also discovered that he is the last of an ancient group of beings called the shadowcats.

Update as of Session #80: Kadan unleashes the full power of the newly charged Shadowcat Mask. He gains the ability to use Ancestoral Call to summon the strengths of his forebearers.

Valina

Valina is a petite 19-year-old (doesn't get much more petite than 4'8") with reddish brown hair, bluish green eyes, and a voice like a songbird.

She washed up in a wicker basket on the shores of Caldor Isle when she was but a year old. A young mother-to-be found her, and took her in, raising her with her own family on a farm north of the small village of Brittel. The woman and her husband accepted the baby and named her Valina, meaning "virtuous child". When the woman's son, Agnemark was born, he and Valina were raised as brother and sister.

However, recent events have forced Valina to flee from her home and all that she ever knew...

Update as of Session #9: Valina is now know to be one of the three mystic pendant bearers who are key to opening the book that contains all the information about the Serpent Staff. Her pendant is the Pendant of Hope. It is still unknown whether she represents past, present, or future.

Update as of Session #60: Confronted by the scorched remains of her home on Caldor Isle, Valina is forced to acknowledge her family's death. She also meets with Lady Atrillas, who imparts to her the story of how she originally received the pendant.

Update as of Session #62/63: Valina's pendant was made whole during a ceremony Garreth was to hold to break it free from Valina's will. However the pendant responded to Valina's desire to possess it and teleported itself back around her. She then learned the spell Dispel Magic.

Geint

Since Geint is such a spunky character, I feel it's best for her to introduce herself in her own words. :) Slightly edited of course.

"Hi, everyone! I'm Geint! I'm a baby red dragon....... maybe not totally, though. I was raised in a cave, and even though I'm now taking over for my mother already, I want too much fun to stop at that! Sitting in a dull old cave all day, counting the cracks in the wall...waiting for some great hero to come along...sitting and waiting for disasters is not my cup of tea, ya know! I wanna help adventure! Who knows? Maybe I could be the shapeshifting dragon of my time! Right now I'm 40 years old. I know, I'm a baby, but I plan to be kicking for way longer!

"Lessee... I am red, duh, but kind of a rose red. For a dragon of my color, I'm pretty big. When sitting up straight, I am about a foot and a half tall. And I have big ears for it, too. Most dragons have itty bitty ears compared to cats, but I have big ears, that flop down to make the top of my head flat like all the other dragons!! =/ The stripe down my back is furry and moderatly curly (not super tight) and purple. I have red eyes, and on the side of my large ears comes out a bit of long hair in the spot where the fur is just a bit furry, fading into skin in my ear. One thing I like about how I look is how one of my curls on the 'triangle' on my forhead goes into my face a bit. I may look like a baby or a kitten, but I'm smart!"

Update as of Session #9: Geint used to be refered to as an "air bunny" by the other characters, rather than the typical "flying cat" misnomer. However, everyone knows now that she really is a young red dragon. Well, duh!

Update as of Interlude #9: Geint met with Quark, who gave her a magical ring that will allow her to take human form so long as she wears it.

Tarrant

Tarrant was a cook at the tavern in Vane (born and raised in that very town) before his sudden extreme dedication to learning magic drew him elsewhere. When Tarrant first got a job at the tavern he was only a dishwasher. But after a lot of hard work, Tarrant worked his way up in the ranks. Now he is a cook that is known from miles around for making the best food around.

Tarrant is a tall slender man that has fiery red hair that almost seems to glow. Tarrant has dark green eyes and a slash mark along the left side of his face. Tarrant is not a very muscular person, but he tries to make up for it with his magical ability.

Update as of Session #42: Tarrant's grandfather, Corwin, stole a variety of star magic from Yegaar many years ago. (Just how that was accomplished is not certain.) Tarrant now hunts down Yegaar to avenge the death of his grandfather.

Update as of Session #67: Tarrant retrieves the magic stolen from him by Yegaar (which was originally stolen from Yegaar by Corwin) when the evil lyche is defeated. The Star Magic returns to him in the new more powerful form of Celestial Star Magic.

Update as of Session #75: Tarrant receives the Pegasus Feather and the powerful spell: Pegasus Wind.

Arzel

Arzel is twenty years old. He has blue eyes and stands about 5'10" tall and weighs about 170 lbs. He is kinda scrawny and usually wears a long brown hooded robe that goes down to his ankles. He usually keeps the hood on, completely shadowing his face. When he does remove his hood you can see his long black/grey hair that runs down to the middle of his back, and his blue eyes that seem to be understanding and peering into one's soul at the same time. His face is quite boney with high cheek bones. One can also see a large scar running from his hair line right down to below his jaw.

Update as of Session #12: Some time ago, Arzel met the warlock Garreth in combat. The battle was taxing on them both, but Garreth won, leaving Arzel with a painful reminder of who was the winner.

Update as of Session #63: Garreth is now dead, leaving Arzel pessemistic about the world. Though they fought at their every encounter, Garreth had been a vivid part of Arzel's life up until then.

Update as of Session #80: After a trial against the Phoenix, Arzel is given the Phoenix Robe and the power to use the Phoenix Fire spell.

Ayeye

Ayeye stands 5'4" tall. And although she is only 18, she already hires herself out as a mercenary. She has red hair and green eyes, and is slight of build. Ayeye has been mistaken for a child before, due to her height and her outwardly cheerful, bright, and occasionally even naive personality.

Ayeye has embarked on a personal quest to solve the riddle of a series of nightmares that have recently begun to plague her for the second time in her life as well has to find out about her past. She has no memory of her life prior to three years ago.

Update as of Session #16: Ayeye has acquired a strange black bracer with a coiled serpent carved in relief on it. While Shea, Par, and Earendil have proved incapable of holding on to it, Ayeye apparently can touch it without any harmful effects.

Update as of Interlude #7: When Arzel's first attempt at teleporting someone other than himself misfired, Ayeye found herself in a void inhabited by the spirits of her "people". There she met her ancestor, Zara, who was a powerful warrior for her people. Zara's spirit gave Ayeye her spear and told her to seek out Damon, one of the warlocks of House Nissa. Damon can reputedly unlock the gate to her past.

Update as of Session #50/51: Ayeye discovers her hometown of Mertyl and her elder brother Jarrek. She had lost her memory while heading to help Shelladon against the warlock attack two years ago. Ayeye also learns that Mertyl and its inhabitants are all descendants of Urdians who had married humans in an attempt to co-exist with the people of Lunar in a peaceful situation.

Updates as of Sesson #76: Ayeye has been chosen to become the bearer of the Pendant of Fortitude, the Pendant of the Future.
