Hello.  Welcome to our web page.   

Ship 294 was originally founded in 1927.  Always located in San Diego, we have had a variety of ships and crew members.  

Our meetings are held on Shelter Island in San Diego, California.  Our flag ship is named Felisi.  She is a beautiful fifty-two foot wooden ketch and is our largest project.  We also have an assortment of smaller boats.  Our post contains several Scout youth ranging in age from 14 - 20 and several advisors.  Nearly all of the advisors in our Ship were formerly youth members, including our Skipper Charlie Rogers who was a youth member of Ship 294 in the late 40's.  We meet on the first and third Saturdays of every month at Koehler Kraft boatyard.   During our meetings we go sailing, work on some of our boats, and plan events.   We do not sail exclusively.  We have taken several kayaking treks down the Colorado River and have gone biking  in Anza Borrego Desert as well as Death Valley.  During our events we camp along the way, and bring all our own gear and food.   All the work, preparations, set-up, clean-up, and cooking is shared equally (in theory anyway).

Recent event:

The 13th annual Wooden Boat Festival  was great fun!  The Festival was held (as always) father's day weekend, June 14th and 15th at Koehler Kraft Boatyard 2302 Shelter Island Drive.  If you missed-out, be sure to catch us next year.
