Before Greg and Kerry got too far away from the dock, Kerry thought about Amanda and her friend. Wouldn’t they want to come too? It’d be more fun having more people come along.

Kerry: Greg wait!

Greg: What’s up?

Kerry: What about Amanda and Jeanette? Let’s ask them to come.

Greg: are you sure?

Kerry: Of course, I feel bad leaving them like that.

Greg: Alright.

He easily tied the boat to the dock for a little,

Greg: wait here I’ll be right back. I have to call the neighbor to watch Daniella.

About 15 minutes later Greg came jogging down to the boat with Jeanette and Amanda not far behind. He grabbed their hands and helped them on so they wouldn’t fall.

Greg made them put on life vests and then they were cruising. The lake was pretty calm for a Sunday so they made their own waves.

Amanda and Jeanette tubed together while Greg drove and Kerry spotted. When they were tired, Kerry and Greg got in the water and Amanda drove. Greg had his hands over Kerry’s but when she slipped, he bailed with her. While they waited in the middle of the lake for Amanda to bring the boat around, Greg snuck up in the water under Kerry and grabbed her leg, pretending to be an alligator.

Kerry: AH! GREG!!!

Greg was laughing so hard and she splashed him in his face for payback.

Around 4 they called it quits and put the boat on the lift and everyone got out. Apparently Mrs. Raposo found the note from Greg about where Daniella was and about tubing because Daniella was helping make spaghetti when the four marched in.

Daniella: Gwegie and Kewie!!

Daniella jumped onto Greg’s back very excited.

Daniella: Kewie do you wanna play Barbie with me?!!

Kerry: Sure! I’d love to!

She gave Greg a little smile and Daniella jumped off of Greg and pulled Kerry’s hand all the way upstairs to her play room.

Mrs. Raposo: she is such a sweetheart Greg.

Greg: I know, she’s amazing.

Mrs. Raposo loved seeing her son so happy with a girl. She’d watched other girls use him because of who he was which really bothered her. But Kerry was different, very different.

When Jen got home, she was feeling pretty stupid. But she didn’t let it get to her for too long. She still had a house to herself for another week and Chris to deal with. She really wanted to shower and get something to eat too.

After taking a shower, her phone rang-it was Chris.

Jen: Hi

Chris: Hey baby, you haven’t been answering the phone. I thought you were attached to that thing.

Jen: Yeah, I saw you calling.

Chris: Uhh, so why didn’t you answer? Are you mad or something?

Jen: Hah Chris, grow up.

Chris: What did I do? You’re the one who’s been really weird and then you just leave without an explanation.

Jen: Yep, and when I was gone I realized something.

Chris: What’s that?

Jen: That there are people who really care. And from the phone calls I got the minute I left were the people who really love me.

Chris: Jen you know I love you.

Jen: The next time you say those three words, stop yourself.

Chris: Jen…

Jen: Don’t call me anymore Chris.

Jenny felt really good about herself after she ended things with Chris. She finally saw who he really was and felt like she had something to look forward to. After all, she had made a new friend, and prom and graduation was just around the corner.

Monday there was no school because of teacher work day, so Kerry woke up around 11. She showered and scrunched her medium length blonde hair. She put on jean capris, a lacrosse t-shirt, and flip flops. Her mom and dad were at work. Kerry grabbed her cell phone and purse and got into her car. She thought about how she was so distracted and tired that she paid no attention to Kate about Jen, so she was going to her hose to see what was up.

Kerry parked her car along the street in front of the Bomnick’s house. There was an unfamiliar car in the driveway. She didn’t know any of Kate’s other friends who had a navy Volkswagen Cabrio. Confused, Kerry just walked into the house. Ever since 4^th grade Kerry and Kate had been best friends.

She figured Kate would still be asleep, so she ran into her room and jumped on her in bed.

Kate: what the hell?

Kerry: WAKE UP!!

Kate: Jesus Kerry! Haha

Kerry heard the toilet flush in the bathroom outside Kate’s room, and she gave Kate a devilish look.

Kerry: did you and Jesse have a little slumber party last night…

JESS I HOPE YOU USED PROTECTION!!!

Before Kate had a chance to explain, Erin walked into the room.

Erin: Eh, did I miss something? I thought Jesse left last night.

Kate: Kerry this is Erin, Erin this is my best friend Kerry.

Kerry: Hehe oops. Sorry thought you were Jesse for some reason! Wait, you don’t go to Jackson do you?

Erin: Haha Nope, I’m not in high school

Kerry: Oh you guys are cousins duh!

Kate: No, Kerry…I’d like you to meet my sister, Erin.

Kerry: Sis-

Kate: Looong story. But to make it short, Erin’s living with us now.

Kerry: but, I didn’t know you had a sister?

Erin: don’t worry, neither did I till a little while ago.

Kate: Have you talked to Jen yet?

Kerry: No, I came to ask if you have.

Kate: I called, but she didn’t really want to talk to me and hung up. Said she’ll be back in a few days and she was staying with a friend somewhere.

Kerry: That is really weird, is she staying with Shelby?

Kate: I asked, she said no.

Kerry: Hmm…

Kate: Yeah, now get off of me! I gotta go pee!

Kate was in the middle of brushing her teeth when the doorbell rang.

Kate: ERIN! Get the door!

Erin ran downstairs and opened it. A short blonde girl was standing there.

Erin: Hi, um I don’t know who you are but I’m guessing you’re one of Kate’s friends so come on in?

Jen: I’m Jenny. Have I met you before?

Erin: not that I recall! I’m Kate’s half sister. And before you ask anything, it’s a long story so just go with it…

The girls laughed and went upstairs.  Kerry was flipping through a magazine on Kate’s bed when she saw jenny. Kerry jumped up and hugged.

Kate cracked open the bathroom door and asked Erin who it was-

Erin: Your little fugitive friend

They giggled and Kate went into her room and saw Jenny and Kerry hugging. She stood there with her arms crossed and jenny walked over-

Jen: I’m sorry for the way I was. I was just so stressed and annoyed with where I was. I didn’t know what to do.

Jen went on to tell the story about Jeremy and who he really was and about how sweet and cool Max was. They asked about Chris and Jen told them it was over, and even though it would be awkward with Kerry and Kate dating his friends, she didn’t care.

The girls ate and hung out.

Erin came down the stairs looking cute in a jean miniskirt and tight pink polo shirt.

Erin: I’m off to work, nice meeting you guys. Kate tell your mom I’m working a little later tonight, I have to make up some hours.

Kate: not a problem, byes!

When Erin left, Jen and Kerry looked at Kate.

They were dying to know about Erin.

Kerry: she seems really cool and fun.

Jen: Ya you’re so lucky to have a sister like that living with you.

Kerry: But…

Jen: What’s her deal? Why was she such a secret and now randomly she’s in the picture.

Kate told them the story about her dad and Erin’s mom. After Erin’s mom mysteriously left, she had problems selling the house because it wasn’t in her name and she had to get a little apartment, which was when she met Landon.

Kerry: Not a people person…

Kate: Yeah, umm, yeah.

Jen: So pretty much she’s lived really close to you your whole life and you didn’t even know it until a few weeks ago?

Kate: Yeah, I guess I knew my dad had remarried my mom and everything, but neither of them told me about Erin. I don’t think they were ever going to either, but she needed a place to live.

Their conversation was ended by Kerry’s cell phone beeping.

Kerry: eh, hold on I have a text.

Kate: Oooh lala is it Greg?

Kerry’s face dropped.

Jen: What is it? What does it say?

Kerry: it says “watch out. im always watching u.”

Kate: who’s it from?

Kerry: Doesn’t say, the number is blocked, probably from a computer or something.

Kate: that’s odd, but it’s probably a joke or something. Don’t worry about it.

The house phone started ringing and the girls jumped. Kate stood up to grab the portable.

Kate: Hello?

Ginny: Hey! Kate its Ginny

Kate: Oh hey, what’s up?

Ginny: not a lot, is Kerry there?

Kate: Yeah lemme get her real quick.

Kerry took the phone

Kate *whispers*: it’s your mom

Kerry: Hey mom what’s going on?

Right now? Okay I’ll be there in 20 minutes. Love ya, bye.

Kerry: Guess I have to go home, she has to show me something. I’ll see ya guys later.

Kate: K, byee!

Jen: bye Kerry! I better be going too, bye Kate!

Kate: see ya!

Kate locked the door after they left and went upstairs to shower. She had some homework to do that she figured she better get over with.

Just as kate sat down and opened her psych. book, her phone rang.

Kerry: get on your computer right now!!!

Kate: whyyyy? I'm doing homework!

Kerry: shut up you are going to love this!!

Kate: what's so exciting?

Kerry: You'll see!

Unwillingly, Kate signed on and Kerry direct connected with her and sent her a picture.
