Kerry and Tyler had only been kissing for a minute. She pushed him a way. She didn’t know what she was doing. She liked Greg. She was over Tyler, right? Tyler was startled when he got pushed off and Kerry jumped up. Kerry turned around to see Jake and Mark.

Kerry: Crap! Tyler I don’t know what that was, but it meant nothing. It was a in the moment kind of thing. I’m with Greg now and I like him. This was your fault. I liked you a lot, but you called it quits.

Jake: Uh, Tyler we’re leaving. Mark the idiot just got in a fistfight with Greg over Kerry.

Kerry: What happened?!

Mark: I just said how Tyler likes you again, and then Jen said how you liked Tyler a lot, until you met Greg. Then she said how other guys just wanted to get with you cuz they think they’re hott. And I made a comment about how I would like to get with you and he threw a punch at my face.

Tyler: I guess we’ll go then. Sorry about this Kerry, I really am. And none of us we’ll mention the kiss. Right guys?

Mark and Jake agreed because they liked going behind everyone’s backs. The three guys left to get into Mark’s car, and Kerry walked back to the pool. She walked over to Greg and kissed him softly.

Kerry: Thanks. I heard what happened.

Greg: I didn’t want to hear him say crap about you. 

Kerry and Greg hopped in the hot tub and started to make-out. Tyler crept around the side of the house and spotted the two kissing. He shook his head and his heart ached. He walked back to the car and the three left. Mark and Jake were proud of him for kissing her. He, on the other hand, felt bad because she had a boyfriend and he knew she didn’t want to.

Jesse and Kate joined them in the hot tub. Matt and Crystal were inseparable for the rest of the party. When the party ended everyone went home. When Kerry got back she went upstairs. Her cell started ringing and she saw that it was Tyler. Regretfully she picked up. He told her he still wanted to see her as friends and that he was wondering if she’d meet up with him at Barnies the next day. Kerry said fine, but she wouldn’t let anything happen this time. He agreed and the two hung up.

Jesse called Liz. Liz excitedly picked up. Jesse asked if she wanted to meet up at Barnies. She said of course and they hung up. Liz walked into her kitchen excitedly to see Morgan with the ice cream out.

Morgan: What are  you all happy about?

Liz: Oh nothing, just meeting up with Jesse tomorrow for a coffee.

Morgan: Uh, Liz, Jesse is with Kate. You can’t go out with him. And he shouldn’t be with you.

Liz: It’s just as friends, Morgan! Please just drop me off, he said he’d drive me back.

Morgan: Whatever.

Liz: Can I have a bowl of ice cream?

Morgan grabbed her bowl and went to call Kate.

Kate: Hello?

Morgan: Hey it’s me!

Kate: Hey what’s up?

Morgan: Can I come over tomorrow?  We can hang out and tan.

Kate: Sounds awesome. Well I’ve gotta go and take a shower. See ya tomorrow Morgs!

Morgan put the phone back in the cradle and walked into the family room and watched TV with her sister.

The next day Kerry put on some cargo pants and a shirt. It was kind of chilly out so she threw on a jean jacket and got in her car. She put the top down and let her curly hair fly in the cool Fall breeze. She drove to Barnies. She got in line and ordered a cookies ‘n’ crème freezer with whip cream. She noticed Tyler in a booth and went to sit across from him. She sat down and looked at him. He was reading a wakeboarding magazine and didn’t see her. She took her hand and pushed the magazine down to the table.

Tyler: Oh, hey Kerry!

Kerry: Hey. So why did you want me to come.

Tyler: I want to say sorry for yesterday. I should have never kissed you. I just miss you so much and like you so much.

Kerry: You don’t get it Tyler. I liked you so much. You broke my heart. I cried for 2 days until I finally talked to my friends. You really hurt me. I was still getting over you some when I met Greg.

Tyler: How did you meet him?

Kerry: He’s in a band with Jesse, Kate’s boyfriend. Remember him? Yah well. We all hung at the movies. He had a girlfriend but she cheated on him and they broke up. We started hanging out and ended up going out. I like him a lot now. I still have small feelings for you, but you hurt me. I can’t bring myself to forgive you just yet.

The two just looked at each other and talked some more. Just then Jesse walked in. Kerry ducked in the book. Tyler and her were laughing. Kerry knew that wouldn’t be good for him to see her with Tyler. Jesse sat on the other side of the coffee shop. Kerry looked out the window and saw Morgan’s car. Liz hopped out and Morgan drove off to Kate’s. Liz ordered a coffee and sat down at Jesse’s table. Kerry and Tyler were confused. They decided to leave then so Jesse wouldn’t think Kerry was with Tyler again. As they walked out the door Jesse looked up and saw Kerry with Tyler. Tyler said something to Kerry and he watched Kerry get in her car and follow Tyler. Jesse turned back to Liz and started talking. They were laughing and Jesse wanted to know if she wanted to go to the studio with him, he was supposed to record a verse in a song again. She agreed and hopped in his car.

Tyler led Kerry to the park. They sat on a bench talking. All Tyler wanted to do was put his arm around her and kiss her like he used to. Kerry looked around and realized what park this was.

Kerry: Why did you take me to where we ended our first date?

Tyler: Just to talk. Kerry, what can I do to have a second chance?

Kerry: Well after what Mark said, I don’t know if I want to. All the guys want to get with me cuz I’m “hott” or whatever. How do I know your not one of those guys?

Tyler: I promise you Kerry. I wanna be with you. How do you know Greg isn’t like that.

Kerry: Greg and I started of as friends and if you knew everything you would see why I knew he isn’t like that. I like him a lot.

Tyler: And I like you a lot. I really want a second chance, Kerry.

Just then Kerry’s cell rang. Greg’s number was on the screen. She picked up.

Kerry: Hello? Hey, hun.

Greg: Where are you?

Kerry: I’m at the park with Tyler. We’re just talking and hanging out.

Greg: Should I worry about this?

Kerry: No, you don’t have to. Can I see you tonight? I really wanna explain all of this.

Greg: Yah, sure. My family’s going out tonight and it’s me and Amanda again. We can go in the hot tub….

Kerry: I’ll be over at 6:00?

Greg: Sounds great! Cya later bye!

Kerry: Bye, hun.

Kerry put the phone away and looked into Tyler’s eyes. She remembered her dates with him. She remembered how she liked him so much. Then how he tore her apart. Broke her heart. Made her feel like dirt.

Tyler: Can I have a second chance?

Kerry: Right now I’m happy with Greg. Let’s just be friends and we’ll go from there. But tonight, I’m telling Greg all of this.

Tyler: Are you gonna tell him we kissed?

Kerry: I think I’ll leave that part out. Haha

Tyler: I like you a lot. I want to be with you.

Kerry: I just don’t know Tyler. I don’t want to get hurt again.

Tyler: I didn’t want to hurt you. I promise. I got scared, cuz I liked you so much. Then summer came and I thought that would be an easy way to run. But I missed you. You have to believe me Kerry.

Tyler scooted closer to her and put his arm around her. Kerry felt tense. She knew this was wrong. There was something holding her there. She faced Tyler. He leaned in and kissed her lips softly. Kerry almost went for it, but pushed him off.

Kerry: I told you no, Tyler. I’m with Greg. If there’s a possibility for you to have a second chance it’s small. And we can start by being friends. But you can’t kiss me!

Tyler: Alright. I’m sorry. You better go it’s 5. You’re supposed to meet Greg at 6. Where you guys going?

Kerry: Greg’s house. I’ll cya at school Tyler.

Kerry ran off to her car and drove home. She picked up her bathing suit, and drove to Greg’s. She drove up as his family was leaving. They spotted her and waved as they drove by. Greg must have said she was coming over, but she had never actually met them.

Jesse had just finished his verse for the song and Liz was on the other side of the glass. He walked in and they said that was good. Liz wanted a tour so Jesse showed her around. They got to his room and it was the same as the other guys. The other doors were locked so he only showed her his room. She thought how cool it would be to be Jesse. Jesse sat on his couch as she looked around. She sat down next to him.

Liz: You are so lucky, Jesse.

Jesse: Why do you think that?

Liz: Look around! You have it made. Every girl likes you.

Jesse: I wouldn’t go that far!

Liz: Kate loves you! Haha

Jesse: Kate is definitely special to me. But I can’t name any other girls who like me. I can name fans but that’s it.

Liz: I like you.

Jesse looked at her. She leaned up and kissed him.
