The next day Kerry and Kate met up at the mall. When they were in Wet Seal they spotted Morgan and Crystal with Frankie and Matt sitting on a bench outside of Wet Seal. They went outside to see what was up.

Kate: We didn’t hear from you guys last night. What’s been going on?

Morgan: Oh well we went to dinner then home. And Frankie called me saying that Matt and Crystal wanted to go to the mall and wanted to see if I wanted to join them with him.

Kerry: So you guys had fun last night?

Crystal: Yep! Kate where’s Jesse?

Kate: Oh, it’s just Kerry and me. I might do something with him tonight I’m not sure.

Kerry: Well we’ll leave you guys alone. We’re going to the food court. Talk to you guys later!

Kate and Kerry laughed about seeing them there and knew that they had hit it off right away. With shopping bags in hand the two girls said bye to each other and went their separate ways. When Kate arrived home she saw Jesse sitting in his car. The two went inside and Jesse said hi to Kate’s parents. Kate and Jesse went to Kate’s movie room and sat down to watch TV with Jesse.

Greg showed up at the movies to meet with Casey. He walked up to her and hugged her. She smiled sweetly at him like she hadn’t done anything wrong.

Casey: Hey hun!

Greg: Hi, Casey…

Casey: Well, what did you do last night?

Greg: Nothing really. What about you?

Casey: Oh I just stayed home and went to bed early. So we gonna get the tickets?

Greg: Why are you lying to me?

Casey: What makes you say I am?

Greg: I saw you last night at Barnies with that other guy. You were kissing him. Do you have any idea how you made me feel?

Casey: You saw that?

Greg: Ya I did.

Casey: Greg, I’m so sorry. I met him while you were on tour and we just went for coffee and I didn’t mean for that to happen. You have to believe me. Can we just forget about it?

Greg: No we can’t just forget about it.  You hurt my feelings and broke my heart. I don’t want to be with you anymore.

Casey: Are you saying we’re over?

Greg: Casey, we were over the moment you kissed that other guy.

Greg walked away. He walked straight to his car, and he didn’t look back to see Casey’s shocked face. He ended up going to Starbucks. He walked in and ordered a frappacinno and sat down at a table. He looked around him and spotted Kerry sitting at a booth reading a book and sipping her coffee. Greg got up and slid into the booth across from Kerry.

Greg: What are you reading?

Startled, Kerry looked up to see Greg’s face.

Kerry: Shopaholic Takes Manhattan

Greg: Cool…

Kerry: I’m reading the whole series. Haha. So what are you up to tonight?

Greg: Well I just got back from breaking up with Casey.

Kerry: Oh I’m sorry. What happened?

Greg: She cheated on me so I told her it was over. It’s kind of a long story.

Kerry: I’m really sorry, Greg. I know how much it sucks to break up with someone you really like.

Greg looked into Kerry’s eyes. He saw she was being sincere and really kind to him. He had been such a jerk to her and focused on Casey. They talked for about an hour then Kerry said she should get going. They stood up and walked outside together.

Greg: It was cool to see you tonight. Thanks for making me feel better.

Kerry: No problem, it was fun.

Greg: Do you think you’d ever want to see me again? Or do you hate me?

Kerry: I don’t hate you.

Greg: I would hate me if I was you. I was a total jerk and blew you off when Casey called. I know I don’t deserve it, but do you want to meet up somewhere tomorrow? I mean just as friends?

Kerry: Sure I guess. Where?

Greg: How about the mall at 3?

Kerry: See ya there…

Kerry climbed into the car. Greg watched her drive off and he smiled. Maybe he still had a chance with this girl. He climbed into his own car and drove home. He went upstairs and was so tired he fell asleep quickly on his bed.
