Surprisingly Greg had been the one to call Jesse. He hadn’t lasted 45 minutes before asking Jesse Kerry’s number. Jesse gave it to him and told him she doesn’t want to break him and Casey up. Greg didn’t understand why anybody thought he would break up with Casey.

Jesse: If you’re not breaking up with Casey, don’t call Kerry

Greg: Why not?

Jesse: She’s not into guys who have girlfriends duh!

Greg: We can be friends…

Jesse: Dream on! Look at that girl, she doesn’t need you as a friend. And she likes you, but you’re gonna screw it up.

Greg: Well I like her too! But I do have a girlfriend! I like Casey and Kerry.

Jesse: You better choose. If you wanna call Kerry, break up with Casey. She won’t want to talk to you while you’re with Casey.

Greg: I can still try. Thanks for the number.

Jesse heard the click and knew he hung up. He threw the phone down. He just couldn’t understand why Greg would stay with Casey when he could get with Kerry. Jesse was frustrated but when he finished dinner with Kate and went back to his house with her, she got it off his mind very fast. Kate said hi to the family and Jesse grabbed some blankets and they went outside. They laid back down on the blankets just like they had 3 weeks ago.  Kate was so glad to have him back. Jesse wrapped his arms tightly around Kerry. He never wanted to let go of her.

Kerry: Hello?

Greg: Uh, Kerry? It’s Greg.

Kerry stopped what she was doing. She wondered how he got her number and why he would be calling her.

Kerry: Uh hi…

Greg: I got your number from Jesse. I wanted to apologize for having to deal with Casey all night.

Kerry: It’s no problem. I mean she’s your girlfriend.

Greg: Yah I guess. I don’t get why I put up with it.

Kerry: Well it’s cuz you like her.

Greg: Yah. I know I have a girlfriend but it was cool to hang with you tonight. Do you think maybe we could hang out sometime?

Kerry: I don’t know if we should. I mean I don’t want to mess anything up with you and Casey.

Greg: Yah, the girl who cancelled our plans. She called me when I was on my way to meet up with her.

Kerry: Oh sorry.

Kerry wasn’t enjoying having to talk to the guy about his girlfriend. It was hard for her to turn down the invitation to hang out. Greg began to realize Kerry wasn’t enjoying talking about Casey. He was about to say something when Casey called through.

Greg: Oh someone’s calling through, can I talk to you later? Or do you not want to talk to me? Haha

Kerry: Haha, sure. Bye

Greg: By—

Greg reluctantly switched over to his other line. Casey wasn’t yelling actually and he was happy. Maybe they could just talk. Since they hadn’t met up that night, he asked if maybe she wanted to go to the movies the next night. She accepted and said she had to go, that she had to call a friend. He said alright and hung up. He thought about calling Kerry back, but decided to head over to Barnies and get a coffee or something. 

After he parked his car he walked into Barnies. He was standing in line and looked around the coffee shop. All of a sudden his world stopped. It felt like someone had just punched him and knocked the wind out of him. There sitting in a booth across the shop was Casey, kissing another guy. He walked out of the shop and got in his car. He had to get away before she saw him. He felt so bummed out that he just went home. He went to his room and just laid down on his bed. He felt like an idiot. He had blew it with Kerry because of Casey. Then tonight Casey broke off their plans and went to kiss another guy. He was feeling terrible until Frankie called him. Frankie wasn’t too surprised when Greg told him the story. Greg hung up and said he didn’t feel like talking.
