The next day Kate drove over to Kerry’s house so maybe she could be cheered up. The two got changed into bathing suits and went out back to tan. Kate told her about her picture perfect night. Kerry smiled at her friend being so happy, then looked sad about how she wished for someone like Jesse for herself. Kate realized what Kerry was thinking about and decided to drop the specifics about the night she spent with Jesse. Before she had a chance to change the topic, Kerry’s cell began buzzing since it was on silent.

Kerry: Hello?….Hey Jen! Kate’s over we’re tanning outside….Uh huh?…..Yah, come over! …..Ok great see ya in a few!

Kerry hung up and told Kate Jen was coming over. Jen and Kerry were extremely alike. Blonde hair, birthdays only 4 days apart, short, and loved to dance and flirt. Neither had boyfriends but were extremely popular with the boys at school. They had dates almost every weekend, but never had a boyfriend. Kate used to be the same until she met Jesse and she hadn’t thought about other guys in a long time. When Kate almost started a conversation Kerry’s phone rang again. Kerry looked down and saw Chad’s number on the screen. Kerry squealed a little and picked up.

Kerry: Hello? …… Hey Chad! ….. This Saturday? …. Umm, one second. Kate do we have plans this Saturday night?

Kate: I don’t think so, but this Wednesday we’re going to the beach, and on Friday we’re going to IOA.

Kerry: But this Saturday is free?

Kate: Yep!

Kerry picked up the phone again.

Kerry: Chad? Hey. Umm this Saturday would be great! …. Ok 7 o’clock. …. Got it! …. K bye!

Kate: Going out with Chad this Saturday night?

Kerry: Yep! Haha

Jen: You guys will be so excited when I tell you what I have to tell you!

Jen finally showed up. She looked excited about something.

Kate: What’s up?

Jen: The new Spotlight club is opening up early this Saturday! We have to go!

Kerry: That’s awesome! We’ve been waiting for it to open for like 3 months! Oh no I can’t!

Jen: And what are you doing this Saturday night?

Kerry: Well Chad just asked me out. We’re going to a movie and dinner.

Kate: Well Jen, we can’t go without Kerry.

Jen: We’ll just have to go Sunday!

Kerry: Clubbing on a Sunday night?

Jen: Well, we do know Jack, the owner.

Kerry: I thought Jack was working at Dreamers.

Jen: Not anymore. He went solo and took over the plans for Spotlight. He loves us! He is always asking us just to come over and dance. Maybe we can get him to open up on Friday night.

Kate: We’re going to IOA on Friday. Remember?

Jen: It’s a perfect way to end the day on Friday. Today’s Monday he’ll be at the club right now if we hurry.

Kerry: Hurry to do what exactly?

Jen: Uh to get him to open a day early! Duh! Now throw on some clothes and let’s go!

Kate: Jen we’re tanning!

Jen: How long have you two been out here?

Kerry: Well I guess 5 hours is enough sun haha.

The girls went inside and changed into some clothes to go out in. Everyone got into their own cars and followed each other there. Kate was in her Mercedes, Kerry in her white Audi TT, and Jen in her black BMW Z4.  Money was definitely not a problem for any of these girls. They all lived in big beautiful homes. They had tons of wonderful clothes. Kate had 2 older brothers who were both away at college. Jen’s older brother was a senior in college and her sister was a sophmore in college. Kerry’s brother was a sophmore in college too. They’re lives were great!

They pulled up to the club and all got out. They walked inside and found Jack looking at different DJs. He excused himself when he saw the three girls.
