Kate was laying on a blanket in Jesse’s backyard. She had her head lying on his chest while his arms hugged around her. They were looking straight up to the stars. Kate was enjoying everything about the night. Mrs. McCartney, Jesse’s mom, didn’t care that it was 12:43 in the morning and that the two of them hadn’t moved at all. Mrs. McCartney had already talked to Kate’s mom and the two agreed to just let Kate leave when she wants to. Usually there was a curfew, and Kate had to leave Jesse’s no late than 12:30 and like wise at Kate’s if Jesse was over. The only difference about tonight was that Jesse was leaving for a tour with his group Dreamstreet the next morning. Kate and Jesse have been together for almost 5 months now. Being 17, having great friends, and a pop star boyfriend is every girl’s dream. Kate was living it up. A tear rolled down her cheek to realize he would be leaving her for 3 weeks. School had just ended 2 weeks ago, so summer was still fresh. Unfortunately Jesse and his friends didn’t go to Kate’s school but there was a possibility of them all coming next year.  Still, it was gonna suck not having him around with her.

Jesse: Please don’t be sad Kate.  I felt my shirt get damp.

Kate: I just don’t want you to leave. I mean it’s summer, things could be great if we could hang out.

Jesse: Don’t worry, it’ll go by fast I promise.

Kate: So what’s the situation on the school year next year?

Jesse: I don’t know yet. It’s looking good. I think we might be coming there.

Kate: That would be so great!

Jesse: The guys still wanna meet you and your friends. I mean I’ve met your friends but they haven’t met the rest of the guys.

Kate: When you get back, we’ll all hang out.

Jesse: Yah. I’m gonna miss you Kate.

Kate: I’m gonna miss you too.

At this point, Mrs. McCartney had seen the two of them kiss and so had Kate’s mom. They were almost passed the whole insanity of them kissing eachother. Still Jesse and Kate hated making out when parents watched. They would peck of course. Mrs. McCartney saw they might kiss and walked away and went to sit on the couch and read a book. On the other couch Lea, Jesse’s sister was reading a book to Timmy, Jesse’s brother.

Kate moved her head from Jesse’s chest and scooted up towards his head. She looked into his eyes and felt his lips lock hers. They began to kiss and 10 minutes passed by. Kate knew her mom was relaxed about her curfew for that night, but she thought it best to not be on the streets way too late. The two collected the blankets and walked inside the house. Timmy ran up and gave Kate a hug. While Lea smiled and had a short conversation with Kate. Jesse’s siblings loved Kate. So far, she was the favorite girlfriend so far. Jesse interrupted saying he was just going to walk Kate to her car and say goodnight. Mrs. McCartney said goodbye to Kate and let her know she had already talked to her mother.

Kate leaned against her drivers door of her navy Mercedes CLK as Jesse kissed her again. A couple minutes later they just stood staring into each other’s eyes. Tears welled up in Kate’s eyes, but Jesse wiped them away. Jesse was beginning to think that he loved Kate. He decided not to say anything yet and to wait until he got back. Kate said she should get going and that he had to call her anytime he could and then when he got back they would hook up. She kissed his lips lightly and got in her car. He backed away from the car as she pulled out. She waved and drove off. Jesse took a deep breath and went back into his house. He went straight upstairs to his room and shut the door.
