Kerry’s week had been so crazy, she was ready by the time Saturday came around and her big date with Greg. She even had to her mom go shopping with her to find the perfect dress. While shopping, they caught up a bit with each other.

Mom: So this guy, Greg, right? What’s he like?....is he cute?

Kerry: Mom! Haha, yes, very! We met at the club, well sort of. Actually it was at the movies because of Jen. But mom he is the sweetest, cutest, and the best guy ever!

Mom: He sure sounds like it. And this thing tomorrow, is for his band?

Kerry: Well, it’s kind of hard to explain. Like it’s for his band, but only he was invited.

Mom: Oh I get it. So there’s going to be dinner, then the awards?

Kerry: Yeah. Look at that dress! It is absolutely gorgeous!

Kerry gasped when she saw the beautiful dress. It was a red halter that came just above her knee. On the right side it ruffled and went to mid shin. It was breath taking, and it looked even better on her. When she pulled out a size 2 and tried it on, she modeled it in the mirror for her mom.

Mom: Oh Ker you look amazing in that!

Kerry: I think I’m going to need shoes to!

She said with a big smile.

After 3 hours of searching, Kerry walked out of the mall with a hot dress, and a matching red pair of Steve Madden shoes. She even treated herself to a light pink shade of Stila lip gloss to go with dress.

When she got home, the first thing she did was call the twins. she wanted to tell them all about her dress, plus she hadn’t talked to her in a while.

-ring-ring-

Sparkle- Hola

Kerry- Does that mean hi?

Sparkle- Haha, yes, what’s up Kerry (In the background: Spence! Pick up the other phone!)

Spencer- Hola!

Kerry- Ok what’s with the Spanish people! Haha

Sparkle- Our parents said that if we don’t pull up our Spanish grade, they’re going to take away our cars.

Spencer- Which totally sucks.

Kerry- Ok well let’s save the practice for later!

Kerry went on to tell the girls about the date and her dress and shoes and make up and what she was going to wear and everything! Before she knew it, it was 5 o’clock and Greg was picking her up at 7. Quickly, she got into the shower. Before her hair got too dry, Kerry scrunched it up into medium sized curls and she was going to let it air dry. She went into her bedroom and picked up the dress, which was in a plastic bag so it wouldn’t get damaged. As she took it out of the bag, Kerry couldn’t do anything but smile. Then she thought about Greg. He was the nicest guy she’d ever met. And he actually cared about her, unlike all the other guys she’s met. All the people Kerry met in clubs were just talking to her so they could grind and booty with her. But Greg wasn’t like that. Greg was something different.

After she stepped into the dress, Kerry noticed her alarm clock at the side of her bed. It red 6:15. “Man the time is flying! He’s going to be here soon!” she said to herself.

Kerry’s bathroom was like a dreamland for any teenage girl. There were pretty satin boxes full of jewelry, cute containers and drawers full of make up, and cabinets stuffed with hair products, and a wide variety of hair irons. This was Kerry’s favorite part of her room. Don’t get me wrong, her bedroom was just as heavenly. She had a queen-sized bed with two night stands on either side. Her desk had on it a lap top and tons of pictures of her and her friends. Kerry had a fantastic sound system, part of it taken from her brother’s room after he went to college. She waited years to have some of his speakers, and since he was gone, she had the whole upstairs to herself.

She had finished all her make up except mascara and the new lip gloss, when Kerry heard the doorbell ringing. “Shit,” her hand slipped while applying the finish touch of mascara. There was a dark brown line above her eye. “This can’t be happening! Now I have to redo that eye and everything! We are going to be so late!!” Kerry flipped out.

“Kerry! Greg’s here!” her mom was yelling from downstairs.

“Alright, just give me a couple minutes!” she yelled back.

Greg was wearing his next black tux, and looking mighty handsome.

While Kerry was fixing what she messed up, her mom and Greg were chatting in the foyer.

“This event sounds very formal, how many people are expected to be there?” Ginny smiled.

“Oh, only about 450, not that big of an event,” he laughed at what he was saying, but really was thinking what am I saying, that’s a lot of people. but I’m going to have the hottest date there.

“Oh goodness, that’s quite a bit,” Ginny and Greg were laughing.

“The traffic is going to be a mess getting into the city at this time,” Ginny walked towards the stairs, “One moment Greg, please make yourself at home, I’m just going to see what’s taking so long.”

When Ginny walked into the bathroom, Kerry was just finished her lip gloss.

“Alright mom, I’m ready,” Kerry did one last check in the mirror. There was no trace of mascara. Kerry sat on the bed and buckled the dazzling red heels. As she got up to go, Ginny picked up her purse.

“Missing something Ker?” she handed Kerry the bag.

“Haha, oops!”

Kerry started her way down the stairs while Greg was standing there waiting. He took one look at her and he felt like he had the wind knocked out of him. Kerry looked amazing, from head to toe, it was hard to breathe.

“Wow,” he whispered to himself. Kerry had a big smile on planted on her face, and it stayed there all evening.

“Bye mom, I’ll be home later, don’t stay up,” Kerry kissed her mom’s cheek.

“Alright, but please be home by 1:30,” Ginny opened up the door and watched them walk out and to his car.

Kerry waved from in the car and Ginny watched as they turned down the street until it was out of sight.

In the car, Greg and Kerry chatted away. They talked about possibly everything. Kerry was acting so cool and collected, but really she was nervous about it. I hope I don’t screw anything up. And I’m sure all the people there are going to be so gorgeous. Am I underdressed?

“Kerry, you look, incredible. I mean, words can’t even describe it.” He glanced at her and she kissed his cheek.

“You’re too sweet,” she teased him.

When they got to the hotel where the awards were being hosted, Greg got out of the car, handed his keys to the man working vallet parking, then walked around do Kerry’s side of the car. As he opened up the door, he took her hand, “My lady,” he acted like a proper gentlemen.

There were so many lights and people it was overwhelming. But still, Kerry could do nothing but smile, while Greg was used to the attention. He went to the set up bar and got 2 wine glasses full of coke, since they were underage. Greg gave Kerry a glass, then took her hand. There were reporters and celebrities talking to Greg. Kerry was so star struck that all she did was nod when someone asked her a question. At 8 o’clock they went into a big room that had a large stage and many tables all around. Greg and Kerry walked to table 23. When everyone was seated, waiters came out carrying plates of chicken, fish, and lamb. Lamb wasn’t something Kerry was very fond of, nor was it something Greg liked too much either, but they each took a few bites to be polite. Everything was going so well and Greg and Kerry were sitting with four other people, who only Greg knew. But Kerry had conversation with the 2 ladies at the table.

The awards were even more exciting than the dinner was. Greg wasn’t nominated for anything, but it was still thrilling to be at one of these things with a date like Greg. When all was said and done, Greg helped Kerry up and took her hand. Guiding her to the hotel door, a photographer from “M” magazine took a picture of Greg and Kerry together, something Greg wasn’t happy about at all, but Kerry thought it was so cool.

When they got into the car, Kerry was bursting to ask Greg all these questions and she was so full of energy. Her night was incredible.

“And the best part of all was the picture, you don’t think they’d put that in the magazine though right?” Kerry suddenly stopped.

“That’s the thing Ker, they would. And I’m going to have a lot of explaining to do, considering I’m ‘single’. Or at least that’s what the fans think.”

“Oh. I’m sorry,” she felt bad.

“Don’t be sorry babe, it’s not your fault, and don’t worry about it I’m going to take care of everything.”

Greg and Kerry just drove around the city for about an hour looking at the sights.

“Everything is so much cooler at night. It all looks so different lit up.”

“Yeah, this is my favorite time to be in the city. Except not in certain parts, too much traffic. But I don’t always mind.”

After an hour and a half Greg got crossed the Geo Wash bridge and drove to Kerry’s house. He walked her to the door and held both of her hands.

“Thanks for inviting me tonight, it was so exciting.”

“There was no one I’d rather have spent it with. You made it less boring,” he laughed.

“Boring, are you kidding me. I’d love to come to these things all the time. You meet so many great people!”

“Become famous and you wont think that anymore,” they laughed together, then it got quiet. Greg leaned it and kissed her softly.

“You are an amazing girl Kerry, like no one else I’ve met,” he kissed her again, except this time longer. Kerry smiled sweetly then hugged him tight. They said good night and she walked into the house, looking back at her boyfriend one last time for the night before the door closed.

Walking back to his car, Greg was smiling and recalling everything that happened. He just couldn’t get her picture out of his mind and how she looked that night.

Everyone in Kerry’s house was asleep, her dad had come home later and her mom fell asleep with the TV on in the bedroom. She turned it off and kissed her mom’s forehead. When she got into her room, she unbuckled her shoes and layed down on her bed, picturing Greg and the dinner and the awards and everything in between. The night was what she would call perfect.
