This blog is my online peace journal with information and reflection on a variety of peace topics -- personal,
local, global -- as well as peace and justice related links that I find helpful and/or inspiring. For more formal information
on peace, justice and nonviolence, I urge you to explore the webpages of The Fellowship of Reconciliation USA (see FOR), of which I am a member and join our New York Fellowship of Reconciliation (see NYFOR) listserv. Also, check out my alternate Peace Hugs blog as well as my links page.

War is Costly, Peace is Priceless !!! Spend money to help, not hurt,

As a snow and ice storm surges in New York City and the mess continues in Iraq and Bush's war drums are beating for Iran (with
media complicity), a personal storm surges with challenges to be met. After thirteen years in my lovely apartment, a second
floor of a house which has been a home to me, my landlady has decided to sell and I must move. This leaves me facing inflated
New York City real estate prices, with Sunnyside much higher now as so many who are being priced out of Manhattan make their
homes here. I'm looking for and hopefully will be finding something -- undoubtedly smaller, and that's okay, but there is
much to do. In the meantime, I must ask my peace friends to cover for me while I seek personal peace.
While working days at a full time job, I must decide what I can keep, what I can throw away, recycle, or give away. There
is much to go through. I trust God and my angels and guides will see me through these latest challenges and I will meet the
people I am supposed to meet and find the home where I am supposed to dwell.
The personal also becomes political. The local community board has been pushing for more affordable housing and now I am experiencing
its need first hand. I have a new justice issue to pursue. But first I must meet my own housing needs. I would ask my friends
to keep me in their prayers -- and to let me know if they have any suggestions.
My upcoming move did NOT keep me away from the January Washington peace march -- see my blog PeaceHugs.com's January 28, 2007
post -- and I will be blogging a bit there as time allows, and making some phone calls and writing a few notes. But major
focus and effort must be this move. Thank you, God, in advance for a new home which will feed my spirit so that I can do the
work that you have given me to do. Amen.

"Our country currently lives under a single-party form of government. One ideology (pro-corporate, coddling the rich,
neglecting the middle class, patronizing the poor) is governing like there's no tomorrow. Should they continue, they'll be
right."
