Good heavens! I knew it was hightime I ignore my
Peace Hugs blog and blog here instead, but where has February gone?!? You may have been wondering where Kate Anne has gone -- no,
the Alito lovers didn't abscond with me. I have been busy in my own life and blogging elsewhere, including at my son's
Audient Files blog and at AAR's
Laura Flander's Radio Nation blog. (Along with
Thom Hartmann, Laura's one of the best.) And I have been taking action, some noted at the NYFOR and WQIDC listserv's (both Yahoo Groups),
but also on No Child Left Behind after viewing AFT's
NCLB Show & Sing-A-Long. There's my paid job, of course, and getting Christmas pictures sent out to the family and friends (one more CD to go --
plus some printed out pictures to snail-mail to my
Aunt Betty Murphy and my Normandy D-Day surviving
Uncle John
Pfister). I've been listening to a lot of podcasts and still managed to read a bit (am reading
The Time Traveler's
Wife currently -- love time travel!). And doing housework -- not enough. Ah,
FlyLady, I am shining my sink, but it is hard to do housework when there is a world that needs saving! Still a cleaner house would
help me find more peace to share with the rest of the world....
And I have been finding peace by the lovely order of solving
Sudoku -- thanks, Washington Post! And feeding my birds and squirrels (fascinating watching them, but oh there are a lot in Sunnyside
Gardens!!). And watching the Olympics skaters. And taking peace from the sight of my sleeping cats -- losing a bit of it when
they swipe at each other. So much to do -- and so many choices. But at least I'm not bored. I thank God for choice in my life,
and my choice in blogging, and finding time for friends, p&j work, AND housework on top of earning a living. But if you can't
find me here, email me a note -- or leave one at my Peace Hugs blogsite,
http://kateannenyc.blogspot.com. And forgive me for not getting out Christmas cards (sent 4 only!) and Valentine cards -- shall we try for Spring/Easter
cards?? I have all my Christmas labels AND stamps -- I'll need 2 cents more per card, and won't Santa look cute with a tulip-ed
return address label?
Tonight is a NYC peace zone meeting at United for Peace and Justice so I had better get to work, put in my time and get to
the meeting. There's a big event planned for April 29th so New Yorkers should hold the date. (I will be posting more info
and no doubt be in the streets and handing out leaflets, but you can check it out at
UnitedforPeace.org)
Breathe, relax, seek peace. God, what would you have me do today? Guide me. Walk with me. Help me do the work you have given
me to do, and still have some time for fun. Amen.
Peace hugs,
Kate Anne
