This blog is my online peace journal with information and reflection on a variety of peace topics -- personal,
local, global -- as well as peace and justice related links that I find helpful and/or inspiring. For more formal information
on peace, justice and nonviolence, I urge you to explore the webpages of The Fellowship of Reconciliation USA (see FOR), of which I am a member and join our New York Fellowship of Reconciliation (see NYFOR) listserv. Also, check out my alternate Peace Hugs blog as well as my links page.
"The God of Peace is never glorified by human violence."
-- Thomas Merton
"While you are proclaiming peace with your lips, be careful to have it even more fully in your heart."
-- St. Francis of Assisi
"There is no longer a choice between violence and nonviolence - there is only a choice between nonviolence and nonexistence."
-- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Did AIDS Walk NY yesterday, a StarWalker no less, with Team MMC in David Pfister's memory -- photos soon at Flickr.com
as kateannenyc -- or catch up with me either at PeaceHugs.com or at Quick TAKES and Tasty Tidbit.
The Ridgewood Democratic Club is honoring me June 10th with a community service award -- well, they are honoring Kate
Ann (I must correct the name :-) -- support me please by buying an add or attending. Or just support a good Queens New York
club by doing same. You should be able to download the form -- or email me and request same.
Where has the year gone? What have I been up to and what are my kids and friends doing? If you didn't get a card, please
know that few have been sent out. But you can be in touch with me/mine by checking out Peace Hugs on line on Blogger or Twitter as well as Quick TAKES and tasty tidbits -- AND you can find me on Facebook -- maybe.
To quote my end of year Peace Hugs message AND Tiny Tim, "God bless us everyone!" and I wish all of us a Peace-full, Healthy, Prosperous, Happy New Year.
Today is the fourth anniversary of Air America Radio. It continues to evolve. While I have lost some of my favorites, I have gained new favorites and have followed the careers
of some of the originals in different venues. In essence, then, Air America has been a breath of progressive fresh air, a
gift. Well, not quite a gift -- I have joined and re-joined as a Premium Member and would urge other progressives to do likewise
to show support. Meanwhile the corporate media is dominated by right wing hate talk radio. Let's get the hate out of radio
and the discussion IN. Thank God for people like Thom Hartmann who engages the opposition in polite dialog. Four years has made a positive difference -- here is to many more: Happy
Birthday, Air America.
The title holds true, dear friends who did not receive a Christmas or New Year's card/letter (only 50 or so cards were
sent and no yearly letter was written). I'm busy blogging at Peace Hugs and Quick Takes and Tasty Tidbits and other places, posting pictures at my Flickr.com site, working for corporate America, and doing my peace and justice activities. Life is busy. Life is good. Life can be a little
sad. I may still write a post-holiday letter yet -- but write me -- kateanne7 [at] yahoo.com if you want to be in touch.
Fr. John Azzali has passed to the other side of the veil, to work for peace and justice from there no doubt. Former
Senior Warden of All Saints' Sunnyside where I first met him, John went on to be a deacon then a priest at Sts. Sergius and
Bacchus Catholic Apostolic Church in Queens. His work as co-chair and then chair of Queens Network For Peace and Justice and
so much with the LGBT community is laudable. He has made a positive difference in the world and I count myself as one of many
who will miss the physical presence of John, God's gracious gift.
News of John's sudden heart attack last Saturday is reverberating through the Queens community. Friends will gather to honor
his life on Friday, October 5, 7pm at Community Methodist Church (located at 81-10 35th Ave., Jackson Heights, NY). I've posted
a few additional pictures on Flickr but we will remember his strength and gentleness as well as his compassion and love for humanity. Adieu and peace, dear John.
Your life has contributed so much -- I thank God for gifting us with you and the wondrous benefits of your work. Your spirit
lives on.

"Our country currently lives under a single-party form of government. One ideology (pro-corporate, coddling the rich,
neglecting the middle class, patronizing the poor) is governing like there's no tomorrow. Should they continue, they'll be
right."
