LASER36 WINS A MAIN!DAVID DOUGLAS WINS THE B MAIN! The Innuagural Online 500 saw alot of close yet wild racing throughout Saturday morning. The first group of heats saw some close yet relaxed racing as ninja23 won Heat1 and go24 would take heat2. Group A was a little tougher and a little closer as both heats would have head to head battles for the top 5 spots. The weather (TEN) would also play some havoc as both heats received mass boots forcing the 500 to be "rain delayed" (as well as moved to another anrea). After the track dryed toejam27 would take the win in heat1 and Bill_94 the DegaPlus Champ. would take the win in Heat2. Now the fields were set for the 500. Even though the B main didn't have a shot at the overall win they did get to try and run the full 500 miles. It was tough to make the A main but a few managed to do it by coming from the group B heats. LinerKing and go24 both ran very strong and showed that qualifying isn't everything. LinerKing would end up in the top 5 of the A main and go24 would get caught up in an early incident. After qualifying Laser36 would yet again take the pole after taking the fast time qualifier award during open qualifier, but MikeKoon after taking 2nd in open qual would take 2nd yet again.. This sure showed the rest of the field who tough guys were. When the green came out Laser36 would take the lead followed closely by Malphrus. Several cautions slowed the pace of the race. The top contenders consisted of Laser36, GOjeda, Malphrus, Bill_94, as well as TuFiR and MikeKoon who both lead early in the race but were eventually booted. After all of the mid-race crashing, booting, and alot of close drafting was over. The final results all boiled down to who had a better pitstop. GOjeda and Malphrus would be the first to pit out of the top three draft with 18 laps to go. Laser36 would pit the next lap. After the pitstops would cycle through Laser36 had over a 7 second lead over 2nd place Malphrus who also had over a 5 second lead over GOjeda. This is the way they stayed when the checkered flag flew. LinerKing would come home 4th after coming from the group B heats, and xtreme14 would round out the top 5. But dont forget about toejam27 who also had a good day coming home in 6th and staying on the lead lap.
