General: All driver meetings will take place in the East Alpha Lobby 5. Whenever there is a problem with the servers or admins are not present in the servers; all drivers should meet in East Alpha Lobby 5. Qualifying: Qualifying will be held the same as last year. Open qualifying sessions will be held during two weeks of qualifying. We will host First Round and Second round qualifying. Each driver will only be allowed to qualify one time per round. You will qualify just as if you were in a normal race. You will enter a server (listed below) that will begin with 5minutes of practice followed by the Qualifying session. Your fastest lap ran in the Qualifying session will be what counts. Once the game scores you with a timed lap, your run will count regardless if you crashed, got booted, or anything else unforseen happens. Each driver is only allowed one qualifying run during First Round. Anyone running more than one run will forfeit all of their laps for First Round. After the completion of your qualifying run, it is your job to save the replay of your qualifying run. There will be 10minutes of warmup to do so. There should be plenty of time. Click here for a tutorial on how to save your replay. The top 60 fastest after first round are required to send the replay of their qualifying run to the TSW 500 Director. 61st through 100th (including those who stood on their first round time) after the completion of second round are also required to send in their replays. Any other driver in the top 200 may be picked by random to send in their replay as well. DO NOT SEND IN A REPLAY UNTIL TOLD TO! All replays will be reviewed by the TSW 500 Officials and posted on the website. The replay must follow the below guidelines:
First Round Qualifying will be held from January 8th through January 12th. Four sessions will be run each day allowing at least 160 drivers per day. The schedule for each qualifying day is listed below. The top 60 fastest qualifiers will go to the Twin 175's while the top two(2) fastest qualifiers will have an automatic start in the TSW 500 main event. The schedule for First Round qualifying is listed below:
Second Round Qualifying will be held from January 15th through January 19th. Four sessions will be run each day allowing at least 160 drivers per day. Any driver not in the top 60 from First Round can choose to either stand on their time or requalify in hopes of a better time. If a driver chooses to requalify; the 2nd qualifying run will count regardless if it is slower or not. Do not notify us if you are standing on your time or not. At any time during Second Round you can choose to stand on your time or not. However, if you wait until the last minute to qualify and there is not enough room for you in the final sessions you are out of luck. The schedule for each qualifying day is listed below. 61st through 120th qualifiers after Second round is completed will be split into the twin 25% last chance races. 121st through 200th will be split into two 15% qualifier races. The schedule for qualifying is listed below:
Any driver not making the top 200 in qualifying will go home and wait for next year. All qualifying sessions will be monitored by an admin. Below are the rules all drivers must abide by while qualifying for the 2002 TSW 500.
Qual Rules:
Qualifier Races: Two qualifier races will be set up on January 26th prior to the Last Chance races. Practice will begin at 9:30am EST for 10minutes. The info for the Qualifier races is listed below:
Qualifier Races All TSW 500 rules will apply to both Qualifier races. The top 10 from each race will transfer to the Twin Last Chance races that will immediately follow. Race A drivers will transfer to Last Chance Race A, and Race B drivers will transfer to Last Chance Race B. All drivers that transfer will be allowed to start in the Last Chance races in the order of how they qualify in the Last Chance race just as everyone else. The starting grid for all drivers is determined by the qualifying session within the race and not open qualifying. Last Chance Race: The Twin Last Chance races will be held no earlier than 10:30am EST and no later than the completion of the Qualifier races. The Last Chance races will consist of drivers 61st through 80th from open qualifying plus the drivers transfering from the Qualifier Races. The top 10 from each Last Chance race will transfer to the Twin 175's held the following week on February 2nd. The top 10 from race A will transfer to Twin 175 RaceA and the top 10 from race B will transfer to Twin 175 Race B.
Last Chance Races Twin 175's: And now, the 175's. This is just like the real life Daytona 500's Twin 125's.... with just a few more miles added on. Just as before, 1st - 60th from open qualifying will be split into race A and race B, Odds being in race A and Evens being in race B. These races will also include 1st and 2nd place qualifiers as well as the transfers from the Last Chance races held the previous week. 1st place will be in race A, 2nd place will be in race B. The starting grid will be determined by qualifying in the actual race qualifying session. The top 10 transfers from each Last Chance race will be allowed to qualify for their starting position like everyone else. The Odd numbered will go to Race A, the Evens will go to race B. The top 18 from each Twin 175 will transfer to the Online 500 (not counting the top 2 qualifiers already in the Online 500).
Twin 175's
TSW 500: This is the main event, the TSW 500. This race is for all the marbles. This race will be held on its own day. The starting grid will be based off the qualifying held in the race qualifying session and will consist of the top 18 from each Twin 175 race, plus any driver taking the Past Winner's Provisional, and any remaining empty spots will go to Promoter's Choice (Meaning, the TSW 500 Director and/or any TSW 500 admin will be able to choose any driver to fill the final spots even if they are not registered for the event). This race will be the full 100%, 200 lap, 500 mile event. The winner of this race (after all the post race protests and penalties of course <G>) will be crowned the 2002 Online 500 Champion and will receive a free TSW2 Stock wheel or free upgrades courtesy of Thomas Enterprises, Inc..
TSW 500
Rainouts: If the Qualifier races or Last Chance races crash (server goes down) or the race cannot be started within an hour of the posted start time, the race will not be rerun nor rescheduled and the the transfer spots will go to the top 10 fastest qualifiers from open qualifying in each race. This is so we don't end up racing too long into the day until we get to where someone cannot race any longer due to family things or something already scheduled in their day. If the Twin 175's or the Online 500 crashes or cannot be started by Noon Eastern Time then they will be rescheduled.
Results: After each race the top 5 are required to save the results. The winner must send in the results to the TSW 500 Administrator if the admin did not get them already.
Carset: The carset will be done for only the drivers that have made it to the Twin 175's. Each driver in the Twin 175's will request a car number, giving priority to the higher qualifier. Once you are secured into the Twin 175's you will have the option of choosing a car number, or allowing us to choose one for you if you prefer. Paint schemes will also be dtermined by the driver or by the admins if you prefer.
