It's really unfortunate that NASCAR has gained such a reputation as a right-wing sport. When I tell my friends I'm into NASCAR,
some of them look at me like I just told them I joined the Klan. "But.. you're cool! Why would you be into NASCAR?"
While I agree that sports fan pages should not be the place for politics, NASCAR, FOX,and even some drivers don't seem
to have any problems with espousing their political leanings. So neither will I.
George Bush is steadfastly soldifying his place in history as the worst president this country has ever had.
Bush's mistakes are too numerous to mention, but let's start with what is supposedly the only thing he HAS done right - his
response to 9/11 and the "war on terror"...
It is clear from the 9/11 commission hearings that the Bush administration knew full well that an attack on the US by Al-Qaeda
was imminent, that the attack could involve crashing airplanes into the World Trade Center, and that they did NOTHING to stop
it. This is not entirely Bush's fault - the FAA had been saying for years that security was too lax at the nations airports
and had repatedly tried to get added security measures put in place - measures that the airline industry fought tooth and
nail to prevent in order to save money. Several people in the FAA resigned over this.

| Don't you EVER forget! |
The response in Afghanistan was a great triumph for America and the world - dislodging the evil, scum-sucking Taliban and
putting Al-Qaeda against the ropes. And then...
George Bush BLEW IT ALL, enlisting the entire country and all it's resources to engage in his pathological obsession with
unseating Saddam Hussein. It is fairly clear that even before his non-victory in the 2000 election, the Bush cadre were already
making plans to go into Iraq. I think it would be pretty safe to conclude that America would be in Iraq today whether 9/11
happened or not.
The people of Spain (and possibly the people of Britain very soon) ousted their current government in response to the war
on terror. Why would a nation - reeling after a terrorist attack of their own in Madrid - oust a pro-Bush government? Because
they realized what Wesley Clark said in his testimony before the 911 commssion was true...
The war in Iraq has seriously undermined the war on terror.
So, is Iraq another Vietnam? The comparison is not really fair, mosty because the body count has't risen high enough. Yet.
There are, however, some glaring similarities...
Like the idea that the Iraqi resistance is made up mostly of foreigners. The Bush adminstration should have figured something
was up when our initial attack was met with virtually no resistance. Were the Iraqi's just cowards? Or maybe, just maybe,
the Iraqi's were a lot smarter than we gave them credit for. Perhaps, unlike us, they LEARNED something from the Gulf War
- that they couldn't possibly win an all out battle, and that the correct strategy would be to let the coaltion forces in,
and then wear them (and American public opinion) down in a bloody ground battle. Increased American attacks and responses
- that almost assuredly wll involve lots of civilian casualties (read: Fallujah) - will only serve to turn Iraqi public opinion
against America and line up more people for the resistance.
No matter what means we use to get out of this mess, one thing should be crystal clear - at least, to anyone with a brain.
George Bush has had his chance, and he has failed. Failed miserably. On virtually every front. This country cannot survive
another 4 years of his bungling and cronyism. Whether the new president is John Kerry, Jon McCain, Ralph Nader or Mickey
Freakin' Mouse, it's hard to imagine anyone doing a worse job.
GEORGE BUSH MUST GO!!!
If you are still a Bush supporter, ask yourself this question...
Would Osama Bin Laden still be at large today if we were spending $100 bilion to fight Al Qaeda instead of wasting it in Iraq?
