NASCAR's last remaining shred of credibiliy has vanished - after announcing that Tony Stewart will only be fined, docked a
handful of points, and placed on probation for a post-race altercation with rookie Brian Vickers. Even NASCAR apologists
were stunned by NASCAR's non-move. Fans all over the country tried to keep from bursting out laughing, as Mike Helton proclaimed
"the action we've taken today speaks for itself."
Yeah... and what it says - loudly and clearly - is "we are a bunch of pussies who are completely at the mercy of our
corporate sponsors. If there was ever any doubt that this is ALL about money, let that doubt be erased. Rules, traditions,
consistency and fair-play are irrelevent - and the ONLY thing that matters is creating and sustaining drama, which means more
people will watch, and we will make MORE MONEY."
Honestly NASCAR is really starting to make me sick. They've gone literally from obscurity to obscenity in less than a decade.
I understand that this is America - where EVERYTHING is about money. But, Jesus H. Christ, how greedy can you possibly be???
NASCAR is a TOTAL monopoly, with no other racing series even coming close. The France family own not only the NASCAR franchise
but nearly half the venues as well. They've signed a multi-BILLION dollar TV deal with Fox and NBC. AND THAT'S NOT ENOUGH
FOR THE GREEDY BASTARDS?!?
There's an old saying...
Power Corrupts, and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.
NASCAR's complete lack of teeth will create a championship series where drivers have everything to gain and nothing to lose
by driving dirty. Hell, what does NASCAR care? It's all drama and it's all good. At least, it is until a top 10 driver
gets put in the hospital (or the morgue)... which, I am hereby predicting, WILL happen before the season's out. You heard
it here first!
