HOW TO GET TO
Rancho ALMENDROS
The two domestic airlines in Costa Rica are
506- 233-5330 or 3258 and/or
506-220-3054 or 232-7883. Reservations can be made on-line
but ADVANCED reservations are necessary! The flights
from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez are a short 40 minutes.
Buses also
run directly to Puerto Jimenez from San Jose and generally depart
at 0600 hrs. With such a large variety of activities right in the
Matapalo area, most returning guests prefer to fly direct and taxi
in. If you choose to drive while touring the
country on the way, the trip from San Jose runs 6-8 hours. A 4-WD
auto is required. The most popular means of transport to
the Rancho is the quick 40 minute trip on one of the two
Domestic Airlines/ 7 days/week. Once in Puerto Jimenez, there are taxis and
a daily "collectivo" that run back and forth to Matapalo.
The distance to the Rancho is only 12 miles from town.
