Welcome to the Aiyer
Family homepage on the World Wide Web! We're glad you are here, and if you've
been here before you will notice some changes. That's
all four of us above.
Geeta is to my left, me being the one with the white
hair. Lila being held in place by my left arm and Jaya
is showing her teeth. We are all smiling for a
photograph -- we must have been on drugs or something that day since that
never happens. It was a nice fall day in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
Four years ago Lila was in love with
Van Gogh -- hence the Van Gogh theme for this web-site. I have yet to
find a better theme and especially like it now since it matches the
unfocussed photograph. One of these days I will be forced to use a better
photo.
We have uploaded a few photographs to
the site and you can look at them by using this link.
They are from 2001 mostly and I will update them in 2004 (that's a
promise).
Enjoy your visit!
I have been working on a retelling of the Mahabharata from
1989 -- you can follow the Mahabharata link to read about it.If you are wondering why I am not done with it,
it's because I am slow.
I extracted a portion of the long
story into Amba and Devavrat.
Possibly this is an easier read, but my hope was really to make it an
easier finish. Tough luck!
An earlier attempt to finish it off
was Veda Vyaasa, a magical realist story set in Brooklyn. No luck.
Jaya and I started working on this
story (sorry, it’s a big MS Word document) a few weeks
ago. We are still working on
it, but its been fun.
You can also look at my resume.
That's just in case you want to hire my consulting services.
The following speculations about a
root derivation of Samskrit and how
constellations came about digress in a completely different
direction.
