Having attended both Kent State University, and Point Park College, Christopher Young has been both a self studying filmmaker since 1987 with his first productions in high school, and a dedicated student and teacher of the medium.  He initiated and instructed a creative video production program at both Kent State University's Stark Campus, College of Continuing Studies and Professional Education, and The University of Akron's continuing education program.

"Time based media like film or video is certainly the dominant art form of the past century, having evolved from novelty, to viable artistic medium.  Ironically, it's often also the most misunderstood.  What took other art media centuries to evolve, and centuries to appreciate, has taken film the span of three generations.  No longer are audiences gasping at the sight of silent shorts in wonderment of the technology.  No longer are performers like Bela Lagosi having fruit thrown at them because audiences couldn't separate visual fiction from reality.  Audiences have come to appreciate the fact that artists in the medium are choosing to express deeper feelings, expand visual expectations... And audiences have come to expect no less.  Statistics show that almost 40 % of college students choose a career in film or television as at least one of their top three choices.  It's the marriage of science and artistic fancy, the difficult, highly skilled work with such tangible payoff that makes this line of work the unspoken envy and goal aspiration of millions of people."

"I am fascinated by people and society.  I use my films and videos to illustrate people whose traits are individual, yet universally identifiable by the audience.  In a small window of time in their lives, I try to explore two extremes of human behavior: the best- when people love each other unconditionally, and the worst, which is any time a person has to resort to violence."

Mr. Young has produced award winning videos in both artistic and commercial venues.  He is currently one of AVVMMP's top 100 producers.
