This was an entry in the 1994 CQ World-Wide SSB DX Contest by six members of the Central Arizona DX Association: Vince Thompson K5VT, Mike Bill AA7NO, Jack Reed WA7LNW, Rod Mack NZ7E, Millie Thompson WY7K and Warren Hill KF7AY. In reality, this was a joint logistical effort by the Ghana Amateur Radio Society and the CADXA. |

| Amateur radio had been a "banned activity" in Ghana from 1982 until 1993 and ours was the first contest operation from 9G for more than a decade. From the capital city of Accra, the 9G5TL team logged more than 5,000 contacts in 500 band-countries. This was good enough to finish with the top score in the DXpedition category. For more details regarding this operation, please see the May, 1995 issue of CQ Magazine. |

| A very unusual aspect of this operation was that customs paperwork, equipment and licensure was shared with the 9G5AA CQ World-Wide CW DX Contest team that followed us by one month (G3SXW, GM3YTS, KC7V, K7GE and N7BG). With over 11,000 contacts, as a multi-multi effort, the 9G5AA team, lead by G3SXW, had the top score in their category as well. As far as I am aware, this was the first time that CW and SSB contest teams shared the planning for two different contests from an unusual DX location. |

| Absolutely none of this could have occurred without the generous support of key members of the Executive Committee of the Ghana Amateur Radio Society (Samir Nasar 9G1NS, Kofi Jackson 9G1AJ, Philip Brock 9G1BP and Ralph Quist 9G1RQ). The government of Ghana is to be highly commended for its cooperation and wonderful flexibility! |
