Amateur radio operators have transmitted and received television for over
60 years. Hams have used both fast scan (like normal broadcast TV),
and slow scan (a single picture every 30 seconds or so). Jim is
active using fast scan TV on the facilities of the
Amateur Television
Network,
and is also the net control station for the Monday evening ATV net on the
K6KMN repeater on Mt. Wilson. The K6KMN repeater normally carries
NASA TV during Space Shuttle missions, and outputs on 1241.25 MHz.
For those of you that are in the Los Angeles area and can receive the Mt.
Wilson repeater, you are invited to check in to the Monday evening net in
any of the following ways. The video input to the repeater is on
434.0 MHz AM with a standard 4.5 MHz audio sub-carrier. If you don't
have ATV transmit capability, but do have 2 meters, the you can check in
via audio only on 146.430 MHz FM during the hang in timer.| Web page by Jim Walls | |||
