JWKC - A Chapter of Missouri Writers Guild
About Us

In our time, when the literature for adults is deteriorating,
good books for children are the only hope, the only refuge.

-Isaac Bashevis Singer

Juvenile Writers of Kansas City
(JWKC)
welcomes you!

JWKC is a group of experienced and aspiring writers who share a deep commitment to creating the highest-quality children's literature. The not-for-profit organization first formed more than 35 years ago. Members meet regularly to critique each others' work and discuss publishing and marketing issues relevant to children's literature. JWKC is a chapter of the Missouri Writer's Guild.

We invite both published and unpublished authors who share our commitment to join us. Annual dues are $25. See "Join JWKC" for an application and guidelines. Members can join one of our manuscript critique groups. Check out our calendar of events for information on JWKC's bimonthly chapter events, most of which are open to nonmembers.

For more information, contact JWKC. We'd love to hear from you!
