The Method:

Let’s face it. Traveling through the tangle of technology can be a challenge. But with the right tips and tools, writers can tame the technology jungle. There are so many technological tools available to the artist entrepreneur both inside and outside the worldwide web. This intensive workshop will focus on how, with just a few of the free services available, writers can streamline their business practices, multiply their marketing efforts, and extend  their global reach.


The workshop will be divided into three sections. 

Streamline Business Practices

Writers can manage the day-to-day administrative duties of a small business using the following (mostly) free tools:


Google Calendar – Scheduling management

Plaxo – Address book management

Toodle-Do – To-do list management with multiple user capabilities

Billing Manager – Online invoicing system

EPK – Electronic Press Kit

Booking Request Form – Booking online

Gmail – Web-based email with the best search feature

Smart Phones - call, text, surf the Internet, and send/receive email

Writers can increase their visibility with social media marketing through the following sites:
