Eileen Robinson, CEO of F1rstpages, LLC

Whether you are writing a picture book, middle grade or young adult novel, you must create scenes that make the reader want to be an accomplice!  Dump them in your story and monopolize their time until the last page is turned.

But what characterizes a good scene?  And how do you know when to employ action, exposition, narration, or description?

In this half-day workshop you will:

  • Write and revise individually and in groups, using prompts that will encourage originality and fresher imagery.
  • Learn the elements of writing a good first page or chapter and use them.
  • Discover what will kill your writing and the fixes.
  • Short Q&A on marketing.

Want to get closer to becoming UnRejected?  Well, all you need is a pad and pencil.

Your homework:  Get a good night’s sleep so you can be at your creative best!

NOTE: This workshop focuses on writing for children – only.  Both published or unpublished authors are welcome.   This workshop is great for beginners and intermediate authors.  Nonfiction writers are also welcome.
