Wellington Gregg, Jr. came to San Francisco with his family when he was seven
years old. At age 16, he went to work for the Crocker National Bank as a messenger. Eventually, he became Vice President of
that bank.
He was a thirty-second degree Mason, belonging to the Islam Temple, Ancient
Arabic order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, and also loved to play golf.
Wellington Gregg married Leonie Hiribarren on November 2, 1891. They had two children:
- Enid Gregg (she married Stuart Haldorn)
- Ethel Gregg (she married Daulton Mann and had one son - Daulton Jr.)
Wellington Gregg Jr's most marked personal characteristics mentioned
in his biography were efficiency and geniality. Like his father, Wellington Gregg Jr. died in his sleep.
