Through the magical eyes of the child, the universe of life on the farm in Western Pennsylvania inevitably gave rise to the universe of possibilities beyond the limits of it's physical world.

JV Harvey's first paintings were in the imagination that traveled through mirrors to explore various creative forms of art, which led the artist to pursue many avenues of occupation prior to focusing upon the visual arts.

The reintroduction of painting first came through the Artist, William F. Buchanan in Pittsburgh, PA in 1964, which inspired the artist to gain life experience that would enhance his own art form.

Always surrounded by seasoned artist in multi-dimensional realms of creative expression, the sojourn has provided the essence of eternal spirit unlayering the complexity his human existence on this planet. Many career paths were undertaken over the years from classical, modern and innovative dance and acting, on the professional stage in the 60's -early 70's, to exploring the business world by becoming CEO of five companies during the late 80's. The experience helped to focus the intensity of the creative energy to channel through the mundane concepts of the evolutionary stages of the human spirit within the universe to explore forms of the multi-dimensional.

Although the artist's preference for privacy had kept him from pursuit of the "commercial" art world, the response to his paintings with private collectors both nationally and internationally, has prompted his current works to be introduced to the commercial arena. The current work represents aspects of the challenge to unveil unconscious yearnings to resurrect conscious awakening of the soul to bring forth it's purpose, to hasten transformation of mankind in it's world of social, political, moral and economical confusion. Beyond appearances, rebirth out of death can lead to awakening.

Although JV Harvey divides his 'time' between the United States and Europe, his life is as stated in the February '95 Art Now Gallery Guide:

"The artist delights in the exploration of probabilities. Art offers dimensional doorways to glimpse the Eternal Identity that gives rise to consciousness beyond time/space.
