| Sunday June 13th, we left Powell River, bound at long last for Desolation Sound. We came up the BC coast past Lund, and around the end of Sarah Point (located under the word "Bliss" on the above map), which marks the south entrance to Desolation Sound. When we were there, Sarah Point has the only cellphone tower in the area, and I noticed our phone was on analog signal rather than digital.
The Desolation Sound Marine Park is a designated area of small islands, islets, and parts of the BC mainland that encompass the area on the above map, from Prideaux Haven, down past Mink Island and south around Gilford Peninsula, the point under the word "Landing". Within the Park there are many interesting and inviting tree-lined anchorages: Grace Harbour, Prideaux Haven, Melanie Cove, Laura Cove, to name a few of our favorites. You'll soon see why. |
