This weblog is my online journal. You'll find my opinions on a variety of topics as well as links to other things on the web that I find interesting. When the spirit moves me, I may also include longer essays. Of note is that I will not necescarily spell correctly, use coreckt grammer or politikally korect points of view... this is an attempt at just leting flow ideas into an areana that mostly people I care about only know... Now, if I see my stuff being quoted elsewere.. then I will go GULP and perhaps put up a better disclaimer. My goal is to be genuine, sanguine, and a little obtuse at times.

The listings below are the archives, my web log is set to show 5 entries and then the rest go into archive by month. Enjoy, remember the only thing real in life is that we are born, we breath, we die. The rest is just a dream, don't take it all too seriously, making mistakes is like reprograming your EPROM chips (stays with you even after a reboot), learning by book is like loading knowledge into RAM... Real simple syndication XML feeds. I am a tech person and it has taken me a bit of wrangling to get / find how to use some of the tools out there for this stuff. The idea is you or anyone can create an ongoing news letter and or headlines journal thing. And then publish it. My goal has been to get it figured out so I can use for PACS data and for Marketing http://www.rm-mi.net web site and stuff...

.::. So working backwords. what is RSS? (now recently ATOM Feed is new robust version)

.::. How can you start? Go to http://www.blogger.com and set up a free account, pick a template and more or less start posting stories you write or clipped from other places. Like I have here (http://www.houseofmead.blogger.com) and what is neat is you can email yourself stories that post... so you can in theory, from new cell phones, update your content from anywhere.

.::. The trick is at Blogger go the the FEED section, and set up the ATOM Feed generator. The system takes your content and translates it into an XML formated document that can then be read by feed agregators... Like YAHOO.

But to do that you need to update your main TEMPLATE to include a link to your ATOM Feed page... You need to then go to http://www.feedburner.com and point at your blog and FEEDBURNER picks up that link to XML and you then can translate it into something RSS readers can understand and then .. yes THEN

.::. from FEEDBURNER you can get short cut code that allows you to go back to your TEMPLATE and add the MY YAHOO link chicklette button.. which if you have a YAHOO account (free at http://www.yahoo.com) you can add the RSS feed to your Yahoo home page and see the headlines... from the BLOG any time you go to your browser home page if you use your yahoo as your home page...

The trick is a lot of stuff is out there about RSS XML Atom Feeds and all and it is like... well great but how do I APPLY this?!

i get so much mail from www.airheads.org mail list that I decided since i do not have an airhead bmw bike now, I have the K-brick K100RS ... I should get rid of the mail ... so I unsubscribed. in doing so i realized, sniff, i really miss my airhead...
