To understand profoundly through intuition or empathy.

This weblog is my online journal. You'll find my opinions on a variety of topics as well as links to other things on the web that I find interesting. When the spirit moves me, I may also include longer essays. Of note is that I will not necescarily spell correctly, use coreckt grammer or politikally korect points of view... this is an attempt at just leting flow ideas into an areana that mostly people I care about only know... Now, if I see my stuff being quoted elsewere.. then I will go GULP and perhaps put up a better disclaimer. My goal is to be genuine, sanguine, and a little obtuse at times.

The listings below are the archives, my web log is set to show 5 entries and then the rest go into archive by month. Enjoy, remember the only thing real in life is that we are born, we breath, we die. The rest is just a dream, don't take it all too seriously, making mistakes is like reprograming your EPROM chips (stays with you even after a reboot), learning by book is like loading knowledge into RAM... (easily forgotten. needs to be reloaded every time you reboot) ... um, he he, yeah, Carpe Diem................................................ yeah and some photo albums

story on the wire about 5% of irish men from same dude
Scientists discover most fertile Irish male
By Siobhan Kennedy

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Scientists in Ireland may have found the country's most fertile male, with more than 3 million men worldwide among his offspring.

The scientists, from Trinity College Dublin, have discovered that as many as one in twelve Irish men could be descended from Niall of the Nine Hostages, a 5th-century warlord who was head of the most powerful dynasty in ancient Ireland.
His genetic legacy is almost as impressive as Genghis Khan, the Mongol emperor who conquered most of Asia in the 13th century and has nearly 16 million descendants, said Dan Bradley, who supervised the research.
"It's another link between profligacy and power," Bradley told Reuters. "We're the first generation on the planet where if you're successful you don't (always) have more children."
The research was carried out by PhD student Laoise Moore, at the Smurfit Institute of Genetics at Trinity. Moore, testing the Y chromosome which is passed on from fathers to sons, examined DNA samples from 800 males across Ireland.
The results -- which have been published in the American Journal of Human Genetics -- showed the highest concentration of related males in northwest Ireland, where one in five males had the same Y chromosome.
Bradley said the results reminded the team of a similar study in central Asia, where scientists found 8 percent of men with the same Y chromosome. Subsequent studies found they shared the same chromosome as the dynasty linked to Genghis Khan.
GENGHIS KHAN EFFECT
"It made us wonder if there could be some sort of Genghis Khan effect in Ireland and the best candidate for it was Niall," Bradley said.
His team then consulted with genealogical experts who provided them with a contemporary list of people with surnames that are genealogically linked to the last known relative of the "Ui Neill" dynasty, which literally means descendants of Niall.
The results showed the new group had the same chromosome as those in the original sample, proving a link between them and the Niall descendents.
"The frequency (of the Y chromosome) was significantly higher in that genealogical group than any other group we tested," said Bradley, whose surname is also linked to the medieval warlord. Other modern surnames tracing their ancestry to Niall include Gallagher, Boyle, O'Donnell and O'Doherty.
For added proof, the scientists used special techniques to age the Y chromosome, according to how many mutations had occurred in the genetic material over time. The number of mutations was found to be in accordance with chromosomes that would date back to the last known living relative of Niall.
Niall reportedly had 12 sons, many of whom became powerful Irish kings themselves. But because he lived in the 5th century, there have been doubts the king -- who is said to have brought the country's patron saint, Patrick, to Ireland -- even existed.
"Before I would have said that characters like Niall were almost mythological, like King Arthur, but this actually puts flesh on the bones," Bradley said.
When international databases were checked, the chromosome also turned up in roughly 2 percent of all male New Yorkers.

Maybe they were sharpening claws? I do not know what the inspiration was but boy it was tough to keep my cool. I made wierd sounds (according to Ruby the Dog) and it took a bit to get some of these keys back into place....

Available-T dating T shirts

Found a cool place where you can make an instant store front.... and put designs on products ....

http://www.cafepress.com/availablet

Set up a new online group to organize some consultant types here in Colorado.... we had been using the Meetup.com site tools... now they want money... silly people....

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/colorardoconsultants/

As part of the T - Shirt thing... i put up a website.... www.available-t.com

The idea is based on the Claddagh ring of Celtic Ireland... something that shows you are available to 'flirt' and therefore, if you wear these shirts out while doing what you like to do.. you will be helped to find people who like to do what you like to do.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE> FRIENDSHIPS WILL FOLLOW

Tell your friends!

Namaste

Berah dragged me out of the house the other day to ride
It was 40' and i was all icky from being inside from being at my computer from grinding away at things.... Berah came in and said come on Keenan and I are going to ride our bikes and practice on that hill down by the river to see if Keenan can make it should I get your BigHit or rigid?

I said no,

Berah kept at me, I said no, he restated it, I went outside to let the dog out, it was that 40' misty chill, Berah started pulling my bighit off the hook.... OK ok ok I said, let me go change shoes.

I am glad he dragged me out.

As a precaution I put on my padded jacket... if I was going out I was going to try to manual off some small drops.

We rode around and it felt good. Got down to the bank that Keenan has not made in the past and he went up and down it. The sand bank is about 20 feet and about as steep as a stair case and for a kid... looks scary. For some adults it looks scary. We went up and down and all around and I got more used to my Bighit... this bike is about 40 pounds of free ride 6" travel beast. It is a perfect bike to Downhill at a ski area, you know lift service? It barely is rideable as a beast of a XC bike... really made for dropping off of 10 foot rocks and urban rediculousnes. It is very easy to pull the thing into a wheely when in the small cog on the front crank and the idea is to pull a wheel up as you drop off stuff.

I just could not quite manage the nerve to pull a manual off the edge of this 20 foot bank which would give me a 2 foot vertical drop to a steep slope.

next time

but, on the way back, we looped along a river path that is not official and ducked thru a fence into the old fairgrounds. There, at the fair grounds are animal loading docks. one for low trailers (18" drop) and a couple other ones for 18 wheeler size rigs... about a 4 foot drop maybe? So I went for the 18 inch drop and up the ramp I went, pulled a wheely and plunk dropped off. It was odd, my body did not know what to expect and I fet my spine take more of a hit then it should have. the next drop my feet behaved differently but boy those monster shocks on this bike and huge wheels suck up the impact.

I will have to go back and try the bigger stuff after more little drop practices... reprogram my brain what to do. part of the oddity is that for over 20 years I have ridden hard core mt biking and been clipped in with my ball of my feet over the axel of the pedal... with the two painfull crashes last fall where I went off the bike on the down slope side to land in a pile of mellon sized stones... twice... and my shoulder still aches from when I wake up... i am re-learning to unclip and put my arch over the axel so i can step off if i need to

once my body memory is re set for this kind of riding i will be able to pull this stuff in the wild, on the coyote ridge trail, or devils backbone or lyons gulch and ride with out having to dismount, i will just drop in

everyone needs a friend who is like a brother and pushes you or can watch you freak out or all that.... although it is a drag that now that he has a girlfiriend he is not around much unless it is Keenan week...

but, at least i can now manual a small drop and will go bigger!

blue tuesday
It has been so long the since I took the risk of starting out on my own from a 'set job' of 6 years to get involved with a chap about the hospitol world and IT.... which did not work out since he was not ready to take a leap and put in extra time, or take any time away from his family to create somthing... so then I took time to chill since the exhaustive divorce was finally final the draining automaton nature of the government work was not in my face working with people only concerned with pension plans and so I took time off. 'I can get work easy' I thought....

... that was a year ago about right now... ides of March

fuck

After taking some time to regroup and center... I started in sending out resumes.... 3 a day being the goal. I do  not want to even COUNT how many I have sent out, how many interviews I have had, and now..... WTF

I received a packet from my Mom from my old high school as I was looking for a copy of my inoculation records. In the packet was information on test scores, a letter from the guidence counsoler and stuff. Ouch. One good thing/feedback from that was is that I have a very high comprehension of the written word. ... hmmmm

To write, to read, to digest grok and formulate new words for others to read. ... hmmmm

anyway... thinking about that. thinking about appropriate goals, needs, issues to address....

As this font is blue, so am I. I joked yesterday with a friend 'all this last year is good training for being out on the ocean solo sailing' ... i have to have endurance of character of spirit of sanity.

i have to not drink any more of that homemade clear liquid from a friend of mine.... I had two ounzes or so mixed with lemonade... and when i woke up from the sofa to crawl to bed.... my head hurt, i was woozy, it was not cool. maybe it was the large glass of merlot with my bloody late (9pm) dinner and THEN the 2 oz of corn liqour mixed cocktale ...

my point is

this blue period needs to stop

yes it is appropriate to sulk a little on the anniversary of the 12 mos period of great change... the ides of March... but, i must, MUST <M U S T> focus again on yoga, prayer, excercise and clear thinking

SO

Enough with the blue
Affirmations renew
In with the new
Out with the mood
Until my goals are

ARE

at hand and happening and happiness and hope is full as my cup is again

~33~
