| brad came to visit on his spring break
from school in tucson, and we took several rambles in several configurations.
these photos are from the top-of-telegraph-hill hike (top of union looking
south, looking north), including both
the filbert and greenwich
stairs (here's some scenery), and the russian
hill ramble which included macondray lane
(here's more scenery from macondray,
the model for barbary lane in tales of the city, and nearby molinari
park). we also hit aquatic park and the municipal pier that morning.
then we went to meet mark and walked the mission part of 24th street (where
I did not find the quince turnover I was looking for, but here
are some of our favorite
murals). we dragged brad to the cool slides over in the castro, and
mark and brad went down them straight into the mudpuddles at the bottom.
oh, it was sad and very messy (and there is a short
movie available). however, we kept on, going out to the beach
so brad could stick his hand into the pacific. there were some people
on the beach in little sulkey-type kite-powered carriages being whipped
about by the wind. we started back across town, traveling through
glen canyon. brad is a good sport, and
one of the world's finest houseguests. thanks for coming, brad, come
back anytime.
