we first met the café mamá people
at the excelsior street fair in fall 2004. the café has been
open since may 2004 and has been steadily increasing its art, music and
cultural offerings ever since. they also make a fine mocha, pretty
salads, and yummy flan.

I have to admit that we also love café
mamá because they put up a show of my photos (along with those of
another neighborhood photographer, michael mccauslin) and gave a lovely party
with music and food.
here are a few shots of the art on the walls the night of our party, one two three and some friends
looking at the pictures.
there was live music at the party - marcelo brought a four-piece group
that swung the place all evening with latin grooves. there were some
energetic dancers, one two three.
as we were leaving, a very polite dog who had waited patiently on the sidewalk
all evening was really glad to see us.
