I've just scanned in a little pamphlet called Orphans in an Earthquake that I "borrowed" from my dad a couple years ago that was written by my great (in more than one sense of the word) Aunt Ethel. It is about Susan Bauernfeind who was an early missionary in Japan. She was also my grandfather's first wife's aunt.
Also, my sister Anne and I went on an Alaska Cruise in May. I've posted some photos of the trip in this Flickr set: Alaska Cruise May 2007.

I've finally posted some pictures from my trip to Oregon last year. We visited Newport, the lighthouse at Yaquina Point, the Oregon Aquarium, and then went up to the Columbia River Gorge and saw Multnomah Falls. Got some great shots. A few of them are here.

Well, the movie I've been obsessing about for the past year has come and gone. Serenity didn't do as well at the box office as we had hoped but it was still an excellent movie, well worth the time and effort to see it SIX TIMES at the theatre! The Serenity DVD is out now and I would recommend it highly to anyone who loves good science fiction, intelligent dialogue and plotting, excellent performances, and a rousing good time. The DVD has some great special features too — deleted scenes, a few behind the scenes features and a great easter egg. Of course, I'm waiting for the super-duper, special Browncoat edition with the hour-long making-of documentary (please!), and some of the other stuff that they get to have overseas (not fair!). In case you're curious, here are some reviews of the movie on Metacritic.
OK, now what do obsess about? I guess we true Whedonites now move on to Wonder Woman, his next project, and cross our fingers for a Spike movie (or anything from the Buffyverse would be fine by me!).

To help spread the word about the upcoming film, Serenity, I've created a page devoted to the movie. I've also created a t-shirt design to promote the movie. And, I finally changed the content under Obsession of the day/month/year (although the obsession is the same!!).

I just added two more Spreng family documents to my self-published books page. A Spreng family history, written in 1931, and a letter to the church from my grandmother, Martha Hake, in 1924. Update, 3/25/05: A few printed copies of The Life and Times of a Bishop are now available. See Self-Published Books for more information.
I've uploaded PDFs of two books that I've self-published for all to view and download. If you click on the links below, the files will open in your browser. If you want to download the files to your hard drive, right-click on the link and choose Save Target As.

Seventeen more days until Angel, Season Five is released on DVD!! Can't hardly wait! (Can you believe that this is the same sentence I had here before, written in August, but about season four?!?)

Seventeen more days until Angel, Season Four is released on DVD!! Can't hardly wait!
The latest fun, creative thing I've been doing is taking screenshots from Angel and Buffy DVDs, then playing with them in Photoshop. The good ones will end up in my gallery, Designs by Judy Kay. I'm thinking about making magnets from my photos and creations and selling them on eBay or CafePress.

Please help me identify some flowers that I've taken pictures of recently. I want to post them to my Gallery on www.zazzle.com (see link below), but I need to know what they are first! Go to these two pages: Hawaii Flowers and More Flowers, then email me with the names. They're probably pretty common, I'm just really ignorant about flowers! (Thanks to Rosemary and Sally who helped me identify all of them!)
Here's my gallery on Zazzle.com: Designs by Judy Kay. You can order note cards, greeting cards, or prints.

Yay! I've finally redesigned my website! My old website was begun back in 1998, and hasn't changed much since then. It was definitely time for an overhaul and I hope you like it. Most of the content from the old website is still here. Use the links on top of each page to got to the main sections of the website.
