Anti-Free Speech Fanatics at Harvard Threaten Disruption and Violence





Cambridge , Ma.-Harvard University seems to be resigned to suffer the same embarrassing fate as Columbia University in 2006 as they scamper to rescind their previous invitation to Jim Gilchrist, founder and president of the Minuteman Project, to participate in its immigration symposium scheduled for this Saturday, October 17 in Cambridge , Ma.





Despite appearing at last February’s symposium at the Harvard Law School on immigration law with invited panelists ranging from legislators and government officials to academics and private practitioners from across the political spectrum, campus philosophical fanatics have terrorized the Harvard Undergraduate Legal Committee (HULC) with disruptive threats if Jim Gilchrist attends their proposed convention.



“For almost six months student sponsors of Harvard’s Public Interest and Law Conference have planned for my appearance at Harvard University, but the minute they received threats from fellow students these pre-law students shied away from defending free speech,” Minuteman Project president Jim Gilchrist said. “That future graduates of the most renowned university in the world are literally afraid to support the very cornerstone of the foundation of our nation, namely ‘free speech,’ ought to frighten anyone looking to America as the beacon of liberty, freedom, and justice for all.”





With just five days notice, after over five months of planning his appearance, HULC gave Gilchrist notice that it was forced to rescind its invitation due to serious threats from unnamed anarchist radicals on the Harvard campus. The spokesperson for HULC said the threats were sourced in only some errant students. He said no faculty members were involved in the threat to wreak havoc upon the Cambridge , Massachusetts campus.



The HULC posted the following vague announcement on its web site Tuesday, Oct. 13:

The mission of the PI&L Conference is to educate and provide a forum of productive discussion on how to use law and public service as tools for social justice. With this mission in mind, we encourage intellectual, honest and respectful discourse by individuals and the organizations that they represent. Unfortunately, Mr. Gilchrist's participation in the conference on the behalf of the Minutemen Project was not compatible with providing an environment for civil, educational, and productive discourse on immigration, and we cannot host him at this time.

“For the past two years Harvard has welcomed the open expression of ideas from the Minuteman Project during similar symposiums,” Gilchrist said. “It is shocking that free speech, the most coveted principle of any free nation, is now something that ordinary Americans, including our wounded combat veterans, apparently now must fight for. I never dreamed that Harvard University would eventually allow free speech on its campus to be doled out only to the meanest thugs wielding the biggest clubs.”





Gilchrist, whose 5600-word essay on immigration was published by Georgetown University Law School in 2008, was also invited to submit an immigration-related article for publication by the Harvard Journal on Legislation earlier this year.



In 2006 Columbia University and Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City apologized to the Minuteman Project for the attempt by members of that school’s Chicano Political Caucus and International Socialist Organization to physically pummel Gilchrist and throw him from the stage when he attempted to speak at an event sponsored by a Columbia University political club.

Gilchrist, the president of the Minuteman Project, is a retired California CPA and a former newspaper reporter. He founded the “multi-ethnic” Minuteman Project in 2004 to encourage public debate on what he refers to as a chaotic and careless attitude by our nation’s political governors toward our nation’s physical security, its domestic tranquility and economic prosperity. He is a passionate defender of free speech and an avid supporter of law enforcement organizations. He is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the recipient of the Purple Heart award for wounds sustained while serving with an infantry company in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969.

This time it's from YOUR Homeland Security Chief, Janet Napolitano, who was recently quoted on CNN as saying "illegal immigration is not really a crime". WTF???*&^&U%!!!!! DHS Chief Napolitano: Illegal Immigration Is Not a Crime

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano stunned many listeners during an appearance on CNN when she asserted that illegal immigration is really not a crime.

In an interview with CNN's John King last week, Napolitano discussed Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Ariz., a strict enforcer of immigration laws who says he wants illegal aliens to be prosecuted and jailed.

King said: "A lot of Democrats in Congress want you to investigate him. They think he is over the line. He says he is just enforcing the law and the problem is the federal government."

Napolitano responded: "Sheriff Joe . knows that there aren't enough law enforcement officers, courtrooms or jail cells in the world to do what he is saying.

"What we have to do is target the real evil-doers in this business, the employers who consistently hire illegal labor, the human traffickers who are exploiting human misery.

"And yes, when we find illegal workers, yes, appropriate action, some of which is criminal, most of that is civil, because crossing the border is not a crime per se. It is civil. But anyway, going after those as well."

The fact is, crossing the border without authorization is a crime. The statute reads: "Any alien who enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers . . . shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both." - NEWSMAX

March 14: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Caif., tells an audience that included illegal immigrants that enforcement of America's immigration law is "un-American." (FNC)

EXCLUSIVE: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants and their families that enforcement of existing immigration laws, as currently practiced, is "un-American."

The speaker, condemning raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, referred to the immigrants she was addressing as "very, very patriotic."

"Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?" Pelosi told a mostly Hispanic gathering at St. Anthony's Church in San Francisco.

"It must be stopped....What value system is that? I think it's un-American. I think it's un-American."

Pelosi said she was invited to the church by Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., as part of his 17-city, cross-country tour called United Families, which he says is intended to put a human face on the immigration debate.

"We think that families are the cornerstone of our society and our nation, and an immigration system should preserve those families, not destroy them," Gutierrez told FOX News Capitol Hill Producer Chad Pergram on Tuesday.

The congressman is collecting petitions that ask President Obama to "stop the immigration raids and deportations that are tearing our marriages, families and children apart." He is expected to present those petitions when Hispanic members of Congress meet with the President Wednesday.

On Saturday night, Pelosi joined Gutierrez before a cheering crowd at St. Anthony's chanting, "Si se puede," or "Yes we can."

Referring to work site enforcement actions by ICE agents, Pelosi said, "We have to have a change in policy and practice and again ... I can't say enough, the raids must end. The raids must end.

"You are special people. You're here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country's future. That makes you very, very patriotic."

"I was embarrassed by what she said," said Rick Oltman, with Californians for Population Stabilization, an anti-illegal immigrant group. "Exhorting illegal aliens for taking responsibility for our country's future.... In fact, sitting there in the audience.... I really resented that comment."

"I think it was pandering to the crowd but also insulting to American citizens who consider themselves to be patriotic, who obey the rule of law," said Oltman, who shot a video of the rally.

The sad part of course, is, where is all the American anger about this?? Americans continue to be asleep at the wheel over this issue. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Affidavit:Border official hired illegal immigrants - From Associated Press

BOSTON - A top Homeland Security official in Boston has been accused of repeatedly hiring illegal immigrants to clean her home.

Lorraine Henderson, the regional director of Homeland Security, Customs, and Border Protection, was arrested Friday at her home in Salem. She was expected to appear in federal court later Friday.

Henderson is responsible for stopping illegal aliens from entering the country through the Port of Boston.

But according to an affidavit, for several years Henderson employed a Brazilian housekeeper who was an illegal immigrant. She also allegedly hired two other illegal immigrants, even after fellow agents warned her it was against the law.

Henderson was arrested after one of the women wore a wire and recorded Henderson telling the woman to "be careful" because once you're deported, "you will never be back."

In 1984 "Red Dawn" played in theaters all across America.

The gist of the very popular movie starring Patrick Swayze

is that America has been invaded by communist military forces.

Americans who resist are rounded up and sent to internment camps. Those that own guns are pursued and persecuted with extreme vigor. Mass exterminations are common.

Fast forward to today's America. We have just elected a Marxist president who on the face of easily available information has no love for America. His attendance of Rev. Jeremiah Wrights' Black Liberation Theology, America hating, "God Damn America" church is all that is needed to size up Mr. "O". His wife, Michelle, appears to be an angry woman who also does not like America, a country that has made it possible for the two of them to become multi-millionaires that live in a mansion and who will soon become the unworthy occupants of the White House.

Barack Hussein Obama, our newly elected president didn't like his American name, Barry Dunham. He has never wanted to identify very strongly with America or with whites unless they are nut jobs like Bill Ayres, the former leader of the Weathermen. This is why he became Barrack Obama.

Barack has said that he will sit down at the table with terrorists and the enemies of America and make "nice" with all of them as only a communist can. He will do well with Russia, China, Cuba, Vietnam, Venezuela and North Korea. A meeting of the comrades will occur...don't you doubt it.

Is it inconceivable that he will make tight relations with these countries, bring their armed forces in for cross training, station some of them here in the USA and when he is ready orchestrate a chain of events that will culminate in the complete overthrow of our system of governance as we have known it?

The muscle to back him up will already be here. Every military secret that we possess can be made available to our enemies..his friends... by comrade Barack.

It would be wise for him to have a national youth corps that has infiltrated every home in America and have them report on their families and friends.

In order to completely control us and make Americans incapable of fighting back he must seize all weapons from us and void the second ammendment. He must institute gun control.

Isn't this where we are headed now?

EL PASO, Texas -- An admitted drug smuggler shot by a pair of now-former Border Patrol agents has been sentenced Wednesday to nearly a decade in federal prison.
A federal judge in El Paso sentenced 27-year-old Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila.
The sentence after a federal appeals court last week upheld lengthy sentences for the agents who were convicted in the 2005 shooting.
Aldrete was shot in the buttocks while fleeing from an abandoned marijuana load.
He was sentenced to 9 1/2 years for his role in a second smuggling effort months after he was wounded.
The sentencing breaks down as follows:
Count III: Possession with intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana -- 57 months, 5 years supervised release, $100 special assessment
Count IV: Conspiracy to import 100 kilograms or more of marijuana -- 57 months, 5 years supervised release, $100 special assessment
Count III and IV are to run concurrently.
Count V: Conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 100 Kilograms or more of marijuana -- 57 months, 5 years supervised release, $100 special Assessment
Count VI: Possession with intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana -- 57 months, 5 years supervised release
Count V and VI are to run concurrently.
Aldrete pleaded guilty in April 2007 to two counts of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, and one count each of conspiracy to import a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess a controlled substance.

A federal appeals court has refused to throw out lengthy prison sentences for two U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting an unarmed illegal immigrant and lying about it.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans on Monday upheld most of the convictions against former agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean.

The appeals court vacated their convictions for tampering with an official proceeding, but the three-judge panel refused to reverse the convictions that resulted in their lengthy sentences.

Ramos and Compean were convicted in 2006 and sentenced to 11 and 12 years in prison, respectively.

Both men claimed they shot at Osvaldo Davila, an illegal immigrant and admitted drug smuggler, in self defense.

NCLR CHALLENGES MCCAIN AND OBAMA TO REIN IN PARTY RHETORIC ON IMMMIGRATION

San Diego, CA– The country's largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization today challenged presumptive presidential nominees Senators Barack Obama and John McCain to rein in offensive and charged rhetoric on immigration in their respective parties' congressional campaigns this fall. The challenge comes just days before they are both scheduled to address the National Council of La Raza’s (NCLR) Annual Conference in San Diego.

"Senators McCain and Obama have both been leaders in the immigration reform effort and have urged a thoughtful and well-informed debate on this difficult issue,” said Janet Murguía, NCLR President and CEO. "But others in their respective political parties are using inaccurate and inflammatory language to inspire fear and resentment against immigrants for the sake of advancing their political campaigns."

Murguía pointed to campaign brochures and television advertisements by both parties, including a Democratic Campaign Committee leaflet and a blog posting on the website of North Carolina Republican Senator Elizabeth Dole. The materials that Murguía found offensive include:

"Hate has hijacked the immigration debate," said Murguía whose organization—through its website, www.WeCanStopTheHate.org—has been decrying the growing influence of hate groups and hate speech on television and radio and in political campaigns. "What passes for debate on this issue is often little more than a demagogic attack designed to inflame Americans rather than enlighten them. Our political leaders can stop it," she said. "They should stop it."

"As the leaders of their respective parties, I challenge Senators Obama and McCain not to look the other way while others stoop to demagoguery. I urge them in the strongest possible terms to confront inflammatory anti-immigrant language and images when members of their party seek to use them as campaign tactics. I ask them to lead the country in elevating the tone in this badly needed policy debate.”

Murguía said that NCLR welcomes a thoughtful debate on immigration. "It is a complex problem," she said, "and one we can solve. But we can't have a civil debate as long as hate has the microphone." Murguía said that she has contacted each of the campaigns in writing and plans to address the topic more fully in her own address at the NCLR Annual Conference Tuesday Luncheon, after the two nominees have spoken.
