It's hard to believe that he's dead. It's especially hard to believe that it was caused by a stingray. They're supposed to be really pretty harmless, especially compared to all the other deadly things in Australia.

We wrote this in an internet cafe at the Hangzhou train station, the night before we left for Shanghai.
