Many people don't realize how pretty Southern California is.  There seems to be a little of everything within a short drive from the city (San Fernando Valley).  We have beaches, desert, and forests...   Yes you heard me right, forests, complete with streams.  You might think that these pictures were taken in Oregon or Washington, but they weren't.  They were taken less then an hours drive from my house.  This is a little day hike I took Carol on when we first met.  I think she was a little surprised (Carol has lived in Washington for 30 years and missed the pretty forests).
 

I am sorry girl, the only way to get there is through the water.  Honest to GOD you won't melt.

 
 

Damn it Joe, you never told me I was going to have to climb rocks or walk through water.  In Washington we had foot paths, where is the trail?  (You are on it *Grin)

 
 

Damn them rocks are sharp.  Notice that Diggity had no problems with the water after she figured out there was no SOAP!!
