Barbara Joan Grubman

My first birth doula certification was from ASPO-Lamaze in 1994. In 2000, I received national certification from DONA (Doula Association of North America). I have kept current through attending DONA-approved lectures, courses and workshops. I received my B.S. in Speech Correction from the University of Wisconsin and an M.S. in Elementary Education from C.C.N.Y. I have supported parents in over 50 births, and children have always been a constant part of my life. As a member of DASC (Doula Association of Southern California), I served on its board of directors for five years. In addition, I am also a DONA member. A lifelong knitter and Knitting Guild of America member, I donate knitted items for premature babies through Stitches from the Heart. I live in the San Fernando Valley, and serve the greater Los Angeles area, including Ventura County, Santa Clarita Valley, the South Bay and Santa Monica.
