Dream of High Priest Arthur Rock

The following experience was shared with a group of Restoration youth at the house of Arthur Rock in Independence, approximately the year 1990. It was a dream that he had received years earlier. Part of it was shared on a 1983 tape of a sermon by Arthur Rock entitled "Testimonies and Experiences".

In the dream, Arthur saw the Central Professional Building before it was actually built. He knew in the dream that many of the World Church leaders had their offices there. (The Presidency and other general officers did in fact move into the newly constructed Central Professional Building in February of 1973.)

As he walked into the building, the Devil was leaving. The man turned and looked at Arthur, and Arthur said "I know who you are." And he said, "Yes, but I'm not going to be here any longer. My work here is finished." Then the man ran out. Arthur was given to know that Satan had been working in the RLDS Church but now he was no longer going to have power there.

Arthur continued into the building, and went into some offices on the second floor. In these offices he saw men working. Arthur in the dream asked one of the men what they were doing. This man said to him, "we are putting things back in order." Years later, after the Central Professional Building was constructed, Arthur visited and went up to the second floor. It was the building he had seen in his dream.

Arthur said of the experience, "Why couldn't he (Satan) be there? Because the power of God was so strong among God's people. That's the only condition that will drive him from our midst."
