Engineering Engineers:

A True Story on How to Develop a Trade Show Intelligence Process

As featured in the January/February edition of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professional’s (SCIP) Competitive Intelligence Magazine, the piece below, authored by JP Ratajczak, will also be included as a chapter in SCIP’s Competitive Intelligence Foundation’s latest book, Conference and Trade Show Intelligence.

The piece walks through the steps Ratajczak took over two years as he worked to create an effective and repeatable trade show intelligence process at a former employer.  Included are lessons learned, best practices, as well as a section titled “Quick Elicitation Tips for Non-CI-Savvy Collectors.”

Ratajczak now works at Deloitte Services and is a member of the Southwest Ohio SCIP Chapter’s Steering Committee.  He has served in a variety of SCIP leadership positions over the past 7 years including Chapter Coordinator for the Mercyhurst chapter and also as a Steering Committee Member for the Kansas City chapter.  Ratajczak earned his bachelors degree from Mercyhurst College’s Research/Intelligence Analysis Program (R/IAP) and his masters from Mercyhurst College’s Organization Leadership program.
