Certified Traditional Naturopathy.

Twenty years ago Dr. Di was diagnosed with the most virulent form of skin cancer: melanoma. The prognosis was grim
as she was given approximately one year to live by the allopathic community. The
enormity of this situation motivated Dr. Bargonetti to explore all avenues of alternative medicine in an attempt to save her
life. She passionately experimented with holistic remedies including but not limited to:
iridology, colonic irrigations, juice, herbal and vitamin therapies, diet overhaul, digestion, circulation and lymphatic
stimulation, Edgar Cayce theories and treatments, and so forth, in a courageous effort to fight the cancer. This experience was the motivating factor for her to further explore her interest in alternative
medicine as she returned to school—changing careers from a musician/television producer to a naturopathic doctor.
Diane Bargonetti, N.D. resides in New York City and holds a Master of Science in Natural Health degree
with honors and a Doctor of Naturopathy degree with high honors that she was awarded in August of 2001. She is also certified in Traditional Naturopathy by the ANCB (American Naturopathic Certification Board).
Dr. Di feels she obtained her alternative health education and degrees at a crucial time in history as she began utilizing
her alternative medicine expertise with the FDNY shortly after the September 11, 2001 tragedy, in an attempt to improve the
health and quality of life for the brave firefighters of New York City. To date, she continues this work and considers it a mark of excellence in her life
and career.
Dr. Di has written a pamphlet on cellulite with international distribution called CELLULITE: GOING, GOING GONE (available mail order through this site or at the A.R.E. Bookstore in New York City). Dr. Di also writes a regular column entitled Lifestyle Notes for the newspaper, Allegro
in New York City. Her
loyal readership numbers over 200,000. She is
also a contributing writer for A.R.E.’s Venture Inward Magazine. The article
Coping with Grief (July/August 2004 issue) outlines her holistic path to recovery
after the tragic loss of her brother in a natural gas explosion.
Alternative Medicine Magazine (June 2005) interviewed one of Dr. Di’s clients regarding her alternative varicose
vein treatment and compared it to that of a medical doctor, finding in favor of the alternative approach. There is also an upcoming feature scheduled on Dr. Di for the Jo Lee Magazine (an online Zine) for their
anniversary issue.
In April of 2005, Dr. Bargonetti was invited to be a COPR Associate (Commission of Public Representatives at NIH (National
Institutes of Health). The Director's Council
of Public Representatives (COPR) is a federal advisory committee that advises the National Institutes of Health Director on
issues related to public participation in NIH activities, outreach efforts, and other matters of public interest.
Dr. Di’s private practices in New York City and
Brooklyn, NY offer services
which include using pH Testing, Iridology, tongue analysis, pulses and foot reflexology
to evaluate your state of health. Dr Di then makes recommendations to help you
overcome issues involving digestion, the colon, circulation, the thyroid, hormones, the liver, etc. Dr. Di educates and encourages you to take responsibility for your own health—the goal being to improve
your present quality of life and/or to avoid problems later in life. Her therapeutic naturopathic recommendations include,
but are not limited to: diet adjustments, nutritional counseling, vitamin/herbal
therapy, homeopathic remedies, physical/psychological medicine, Oriental Medicine, Edgar Cayce philosophy and ontology, etc. She also
gives holistic workshops and health lectures that explore the scope of alternative medicine.
Before turning to alternative health care, Dr. Di utilized her previous music degrees, taking her through a teaching
career (she is also a graduate of The College of New Jersey), tenure as a television/film/music producer and executive at
RKO Pictures, and finally to a performing and composing career. Proudly, her
television work includes many health related projects as well as significant music productions to include her Emmy Award Nomination
for mounting the Broadway Show: Lena Horne:
The Lady & Her Music for Showtime and PBS. While producing this show
she met her future husband and writing partner, consummate musician, Steve Bargonetti.
She eventually produced her husband’s first “album” for Qwest Records (Quincy Jones’ label)
and they continue today as an extremely sought after husband and wife writing team.
With her extensive show business background, Dr Di feels she is well-qualified as a health practitioner for people
in the arts, as she has a unique understanding of their particular health and lifestyle issues.
Dr. Di is a regular on the television show:
OtherSides (cable) where she and her husband are part of an interview program which utilizes their concept of a Modern
Medicine Show. (Dr. Di supplies the health advice while her husband provides
the healing background music, as he is the talented guitarist for The Color Purple and Sesame Street.) A television series based
on this unique concept is now in development for major markets entitled Get Healthy, Get Happy with Dr. Di-- a show which
examines natural medicine in a Martha Stewart-type format. Get Healthy, Get Happy
with Dr. Di is aimed at teaching people how to improve their health and lifestyle, using simple, natural techniques, all from
the comfort of their homes
“My hope is that I can make a difference in people’s lives as it applies to their health. I am constantly striving for new ways to introduce simple healing habits into the lives of my family, friends
and clients.” So, come on by. . . Blessings, Dr Di
