Kathleen S. Lewis, R.N., MS, C.M.P., L.P.C. is a native of Greenville, S.C.. She graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, received a masters in counseling with a specialty in chronic illness from Georgia State University, and has taken the core content as a Marriage and Family Therapist from the University of Georgia.

She is a registered nurse, Certified Medical Psychotherapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Stephen Minister.

In 1978 Ms. Lewis was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a potentially life-threatening chronic illness, that redirected her life into using her nursing background to work with the chronically ill as a counselor, speaker, and writer.

Kathleens runs a counseling ministry by phone and Internet for those challenged by life, hosts a chat room for people with lupus and other chronic conditions, and has worked with developing, training people, and teaching the SLE Self Help Course.

Ms. Lewis has 2 adult sons and 4 grand children. She lives in Atlanta, GA with "L.B.," the cutest dog in the world! She is the author of Celebrate Life: New Attitudes for Living with Chronic Illness (the third editions of Successful Living with Chronic Illness) and Prayer Without Ceasing, Breath Prayers.

Ms. Lewis speaks around the country on "success-fully living."
