HAL'S LAST THOUGHTS

Ecstasy Yes! You Betcha Assy-ness! . . .

Oh joy! . . . Oh rapture!
Oh happiness and gladness
Oh splendid-ness . . . Oh . . . Oh
Oh wow-ness . . . Oh far out-ness
and good ol' coolness
Ain't this the best, hippest-ness?
Couldn't get any better ‘n this
Oh nifty-ness . . . Oh how marvelous-ness
I just got my Sony-ness
AM/FM-ness
auto reverse with Dolby B
and Mega Bass Walkman-ness
back . . . and am laying here
in my room listening to this
oh most Holy Jazz
and am in bliss or is it?

Oh my goodness
Will someone please . . . oh please . . .
pinch me
I must be dreaming this,
died, went to heaven and am experiencing
total ethereal weightlessness
and am I gladness
to be aliveness and hearing
beautiful vibrant sound-ness
music to my auditory nerve-ness
and beyond in the depth-ness
of loveliness
sounds which abound
and leap around my brain-ness
betwixt my ears and supported by my neck bone-ness

Oh my-ness
As I am and always will be in awe-ness
of fine, fine, fine-ness
beauteous
music . . . notes
vibrations . . . sounds . . . tones
Oh for joy-ness
For Dô re me fa sol la ti dô-ness
Thank God-ness
Thank you . . . Oh thank you
Oh Universe-ness
And . . . above all . . .
My mom-ness

Montauk Good Morrow M’Ladies

Hey Sister Ocean

with your loco motion

on this almost

day before Full Moon Night

as we approach the

Most Venerable Autumn

Vernal Equinox

How you shimmer and glisten

as Sister Moon glows from above

and her beams and rays

cascade over your waves

as they continually edge

up the sand

sliding and gliding

in rhythms and patterns

some slow and some fast

taps and pounds

rolling and curling

ever onward up the land

effervescing and frothing, foaming

and tossing

bubbling and churning

and folding akin to egg whites

and the puff of oh

meringue pie

as you move to and fro

to the time and tutelage

o’ Sister Moon as She slowly

unwinds and hovers and smiles

as She passes over the sky

and is adorned and adored

by her attending subjects

constellations, planets and orbs

laughing Sisters Pleiades

and bespeckled with

high streaming clouds

and the occasional

meandering wandering

plover

forging for food, freedom

and joy

landing and diving

scamping and dodging

the ever onslaught

of your advancing now

retreating later

bubbling tide

as per Sister Moon

and her altruistic moods

 ever elusive

alluring

bewitching beguiling

seductive enticing

enamouring entrancing

softly embracing

all encompassing

oh how ever so inviting

and eternally . . . maternally wise

Montauk Morn

Hello Sister Ocean

on this fine September morn

as Brother Sun

ever so slowly and succinctly

peer or’ the horizon

orange and golden and red rays

stream and radiate across the sky

and bounce off and splash on

the clouds . . . illuminating them

like colored cotton candy

spun and woven

by Grand Father Wind

from Grand Mother South

. . . and yet . . . and still . . . beckoning

Sister Full Moon with her Man

and smiling face . . . bidding adieu . . .

glowing and beaming all the while

with a knowing smirkish simper impish wink

as to say . . . see you in a while

whilst I go and play in the

traveling night on the other side

of Mother Earth chasing it’s tail

and sparking sparkly Daughter Dawn as she peaks

or’ the morn

this moment

when and where

Sister Sky and

Wispy Oh Most Holy Living Water

Sister Ocean

meet and greet . . . awaiting the  new

majestic arrival of Brother Sun

and a grand brand new day

to wake us and prod us along

as a new wondrous prodigious day

beckons a moment

 a time like no other . . .

as heart and soul of life

beats . . .

on and on

There once was

There once wasn't?

There once was

There once wasn't?

Once upon

One more time

Once upon a time

More than once?

Haven't we met before?

Haven't I seen you before?

Maybe I saw you after

Don't I know you?

Could it have been somewhere else?

You've got that . . .

Je ne c'est quoi

Where have I seen?

It's absolutely uncanny

It is unbelievable

Vous êtes incroyable

I just don't . . .

I can't put my finger on it, but . . .

We've been here before

We're back again

We've come for some more

Who would have known?

Who'll ever believe?

What did we do?

What did we say?

What is it about you?

When can we?

What do you say?

Can you come out and play?

A long, long time . . .

Maybe it'll never end

Take it again

Take it from the top

Seems to be never ending

Well, what do you know?

The shadow do

And maybe you too

Hell if I do

Damned if I do

And damned if . . .

Well dipity do

And zipity do da . . .

How do you do?

How do you do it?

Sure wish I knew!

Please give me a clue!

In lieu of us two,

One,

Blast off!

Up, up and away

In our beautiful . . .

Just snap your fingers an' do the rest

Take it from here and don't let it end!

Suite Number Four

as I sit here in a passive,

pensive mode

listening to

yo yo ma playing the cello

in Bach’s cantata

‘tis Christmas eve in New York

   and it’s cold out side

and it’s warm inside

and that cello

is sending me through the clouds

goose bumps abound

appropriately adjunct

Bach yeah   let’s rock out

time and reality stand still

all is in order and yet not

‘tis Christmas nineteen ninety two

what does        that        mean

For What

time goes and

time comes and

we all stand aplomb

about and shout

and in doubt

we act out

and try and might

and truly ground out

some semblance of understanding

or acceptance or precognition

preconceptions

of existence and understanding

below and above

looking for the answers

be as it may bring on out

all the festive answers

foreboding and yet

alluring

A True Story Of The Canary and Baltimore Oriole

To All . . . Lovers . . . In Waiting . . . and . . . A' Bating Breaths

You are a Canary,
A Tweety Pie
You Live in a beautiful house,
In an elegant.
Elaborate comfortable cage
On an exquisite stand
In a kitchen
By the window
With an awesome view
As the sun and blue sky
And a lovely Cherry tree
Standing near by
All along and inevitably
There is a curious alert
Jealous and Possessive
Tabby Cat always vigilant
With an open eye upon
You, a gorgeous Canary
A Tweety Pie
And praying for a chance to
Feast upon such
A lovely delectable
Bird as Thee
And always Marks
A Spot to observe
Stalk, Hunt and protect
What he perceives
Is his God given right
Domain, territory
And property
And possessions
And trophies
Inevitably and
Eventually
And Fatefully
Along come I
A Baltimore Oriole
Perching on a branch
Perchance from
A lovely Cherry tree
Standing near
By the window
With an awesome view
And You and Tabby
On the other side
I Notice You
My gorgeous Goddess
Canary Tweety Pie, You
By chance
From a glance
As I pause
For moment
That turns into
What seems
An eternity
As I perceive and peruse
My lovely
My one and only
Love . . .
You, My Little Chickadee
As my heart stops, starts
And throbs
And my stomach, flip flops
And I Am Transfixed
With passion
Emotion
And Desire
As it was
And always
Will be
You might think
And portend to know
The rest
But allow me to continue
As I Digress
And continue this
Fowl tale
Of passion, drama
Heart wrenching
Pain, Sorrow
Torrential Love
And woe
As I dance with
Joy and jubilation
At such a spectacular discovery
And revelation
Divine Intervention
And I realize
And summarily surmise
The plight and predicament
That has materialized
For I Am on one side
And You My Tweety Pie
Are on the other side
Of the glass window
And a cage
And yet ever more
The abominable
Tabby that Marks the spot
And territory
Keeping Us apart
And unfulfilled
For I notice all the while
You are ever so aware
Of my existence
As almost as if
You had a
Premonition
And already knew
Of my arrival
And pursuit of yours
And my love
And endeavors to unite
This love sick
Baltimore Oriole
And Lovely Canary
Tweety Pie
I sit and wait
Observe and devise
Ways to get to
See you and
Be with you in
Any way and any why
On balmy days
When the window
May be open
And Tabby who
Marks the spot
Is off some where
And the coast is clear
I bravely fly and perch
By and closely
To your side
Through the wire
Cage I coo and cluck
And we rub and nestle
Our beaks
As we sing and chirp
For a fleeting moment
A miraculous moment
Of Divinely joyous time
And at the faintest
Sense of a sound
A perception of movement
I scamper, flee and fly
Back to the lovely
Cherry tree
Standing near
By the side of the
View from the window
Just in the nick o’ time
As I rest and catch
My breath and my heart
Pounding subsides
I pray, hope and dream
Of a moment, a time
When by chance
The window is open,
Tabby who Marks
The spot is off
Unaware
And the latch
On the cage is
Left ajar
And from afar
I notice you
Take flight
And fly the coop
Come to me
So we may unite
Fly off and be free
Oh what a Dream
And maybe
It will become
True once
Upon A time
Till then I shall
Patiently wait
Wait and wait
For the inevitable
When ever it arrives
For it is worth all
That can ever be
In the universe
Till the end of time
Which is all of
Eternity!
So it shall Divinely Be
Happily Ever After
As All good
True love
Never Ending Stories
Wind Up
Manifest and
Materialize
Oh how Sublime
I
Baltimore Oriole
You
Canary
Tweety Pie

"A Miniature Epic at Best, Hence the Length. Thank you for your patience, nevertheless! Hearken the Heroics Of the Heart! "
